I was busy watching tv and eating some snacks when I received a text message. I glanced at it and saw it was a message from an unknown recipient.

Unknown

Hi

My eyebrows furrowed as I tried remembering who I gave my phone number to. Probably a guy that was bored from one of the companies that I applied before when I left my phone number on the forms that I filled up.

Ella

Sorry. The owner is unavailable and busy.

Unknown

Oh. I guess I won’t have to tell her the difference between a tomato sauce and tomato ketchup.

My eyes widened because of his response. Only one guy that I knew would say something like this—not unless this is Auntie trolling me around.

Ella

John Greene?

Unknown

Yep. Haha.

A smile was formed on my lips. But then it disappeared right after when I realized how he got my number when I didn’t give it to him in the first place?

Ella

How did you get my number?

Unknown

Your Auntie gave it to me.

The fuck.

Unknown

Anyway, wanna meet?

I suddenly got up from lying back on the couch. My eyes were fixed on the phone’s screen, staring at the blinking line on the blank white background then at the keyboard. What should I reply?

Oh well. Gotta be a woman for once in my life.

Ella

Sure! When and where?

Unknown

When are you available?

Ella

Anytime. That question would be more appropriate if it was asked at you.

Unknown

Lol. You’re right.

Ella

Haha

Unknown

I’m free on weekends. How does dinner sound?

Ella

I’m okay with it. Plus, I’m tired of eating pizza for dinner.

Unknown

Hahaha As usual, you’re funny.

Ella

I’m glad that I amused you.

Unknown

Anyway, I’ll see you this Saturday then? I’ll pick you up.

Ella

Okay. See you!

After his last reply, I changed the recipient’s name into John. But what the hell. I haven’t been on a date! And I don’t know what to do in it! Are we going to kiss? Have sex or count the stars at the night sky?

“Girl! It’s going to be either way!” Cristabel exclaimed after I told her that John asked me out and I asked her what I should do.

“Uh... I don’t know how the sex part works but—“

“Girl! You have a long way to go for you to know how relationships work!”

“And you said that after you sold me to the devil who lets me work with other people’s relationships.”

“Okay so first, when he starts gazing at you, that’s his sign that he likes you!”

“Or just wants to see me naked on bed.”

“Either way—“

“Dude, you’re scaring me!”

“Sex isn’t scary! It’s exciting with full of sweat, kisses, hugs, salivas—“

“Okay, I’m out.” Then I dropped the call.

You know, even Cristabel doesn’t know a lot of relationships after knowing she has a record of them lasting for only a month. She was not the right source for my needs right now. So I went to the internet and searched how dating and relationships work. There was a lot of confusing stuff that I saw in there. I even saw that you can eat honey or ice cream while having sex at the same time. I mean, that’s a lot of mess that you have to clean afterwards.

I sighed as I closed the laptop. I have been reading a lot for hours and nothing seems to make sense to me. Maybe I just have to go for it and experience it for the first time? But John is too good to be experimenting on. I honestly don’t want to do it to a guy like him. Maybe I should rent a boyfriend a day before our date? That sounded so wrong I guess but it makes sense you know?

I received a text message. I was excited that it was from John but to my disbelief it was Neil. Well, yeah. We exchanged numbers that day after Alex and Sarah’s case. And speaking of, Alex broke his chains from that toxic bitch. Serves her right and he deserves his freedom.

Neil

Meet me at the office. We have a new client.

Ella

I’m sorry. ‘We’? I didn’t sign a contract with you!

Neil

There’s no contract.

Ella

How will I work with someone that doesn’t have a contract? That’s illegal.

Neil

Fixing someone’s relationships isn’t illegal but more like helping.

Ella

But having no contract means that I don’t have some kind of proof that I made a deal with you.

Neil

Stop reasoning and just get over here.

I grimaced at his last message then sighed. Well, I don’t have anything else to do anyway so fuck it. Plus, maybe this will also help me to get ready with my date  with John.
