What did you think?? I am travelling the next couple of days but I am still going to do my best to keep updating, it just may be at weird times!
~Hazel’s Point of View~ Everything around me is a blur of voices, hands on me and who knows what. I feel my father’s warmth and I feel safe enough for now. Mate. I’m mated!! There’s just nothing else that matters. Wellllllll, aside from the fact that they shot Mick with a dart and my entire body crippled with pain for a second until he passed out. His lifeless body shifted back, in all of Travis’ naked glory. I did enjoy that view. But I need to go back and claw the eyes from that female who shot him, especially since she was gawking! Shifters are not entertainment for humans! “How the hell could this happen,” my father seethes as he carefully sets Simone’s body down in the cab of a truck. The anger radiating off him is palpable, so intense that even though he’s not technically our Alpha, I feel his aura through Simone. We’re both exhausted and even though the first thing new wolves generally want to do is run and hunt … we just got mated. So really, there’s not a whole hell of
~Hazel’s Point of View~ When I’m in a long hallway where every single door looks the same, Simone fully comes alive. She tells me with each door I pause at that it isn’t the right one. *Hazel? You’re so close where are you,* Travis asks, over mind-link. Goddess, I’ve always wanted him stuck in my head and now I’ve got my wish! *I think it’s the next one,* Simone shouts, and I move so fast I can’t even register it. The door flies open before my hand hits the knob and then I’m in his arms. As desperately as I want him to hold me, as I want to just listen to his heart, there’s simply no time. I pull back and slam the door, then throw the lock. I look around at what appears to be an office but all I can see is a massive deep couch with tons of room. Travis flips off the light but takes the sheet from me. “There’s no cameras, I checked. But they wouldn’t see us in the dark anyhow. I’ll throw this on the couch so you can take it home and smell it,” Travis says, turning away. Si
~Hazel’s Point of View~ You’d think that since I had to go mate and dash, then spend the night without my male I’d be in a totally foul mood. Well, I’m not. I know he’ll be home, even if I don’t have an exact time. Being surrounded by his brothers, by his family somehow makes it okay. Somehow makes it not so shitty. “Haze! Hey, you feel like answering the phone,” Missile says, poking his head into the kitchen. I make a face, not quite understanding. He’s wearing his garage jumpsuit, in all black with his colorful arms sticking out of the cut off sleeves. His earrings sparkle like usual and his look is complete with a black backwards hat. *Don’t you look at him! Jeez,* Simone scolds. I clear my throat. I did mean to call Kylie about prom night! I need to get on that. “Who calls the packhouse,” I question, as I finish pouring myself some iced tea. It’s quite past breakfast but not quite lunch. I worked up a hell of an appetite with all that mating and I can’t seem to drink enough!
~Travis’ Point of View~ “When can I fucking leave,” I snarl, pounding my fist on the table. “I’m doing my best Mr. Dennison,” the lawyer insists. Mr. Dennison. Fucknig hell. Even Dozer’s father didn’t go by that name, we’re just not formal people. While the same law firm has represented our pack for decades it seems like they don’t even know us. But then again, there’s only so much we’re willing to tell outsiders. Their firm has a mix of shifters and humans and in my current predicament that is a good thing. I rub my face in annoyance. It’s been three days since Hazel was in my arms, since the smell of her sweet arousal filled my nose and coated my tongue. I cannot fucking wait anymore. “What is the hold up,” I say, trying to use a nicer voice. “You kind of pissed off the judge, well Hazel did but it's all the same to the humans,” he defends. “You know damn well there was nothing about that she could have stopped or controlled,” I growl, jumping to my feet and getting in his fa
~Hazel’s Point of View~ I don’t know if it's better or worse to try and meet Hector so early in the evening, but it's now or never. *I still don’t get it,* Simone insists. *I don’t expect you to,* I reply, as Ginny turns a corner a bit too fast and I have to grab the car’s handle. “You know my man will be super pissed if he knows I helped you,” she huffs. Though I know she likes stirring up trouble. Though she doesn’t know all the details and hasn’t asked. “You’re a true friend Gin. I’m very grateful,” I say, giving her arm a little rub. She just shakes her head in response and mumbles. She agreed to drive me to the border, unfortunately it’s still a ways to the skating rink. I honestly don’t know if it’ll be better or worse to try and go the rest of the way on two legs or four. People will know who I am regardless. Ten minutes later, I’m staring at my phone but doing all I can to walk quickly. It’s a miracle the map even went into this territory, not all packs allow it. When
~Punch’s Point of View~ *She says Hector saved her life just now, shoved her and his mom out while he shifted to fight. I guess do with that what you will but she also demanded I tell Doze,* Chunk says, as I dodge a massive tiger trying to jump on me. His back paw still grazes Mick’s back and the sting of the cut only pisses me off. *Get her the fuck out of here,* I snap, not needing the distraction. Just then I feel his link sever for being out of range. When I smell smoke, I know it's only another distraction from the fight but my heart absolutely sinks. Mona’s house. Her pride and joy next to Hazel. I’ve chased a few bastards deep into the woods, trying to purposefully take the fight away from the house. The house my mate and I are supposed to get and start our lives together in. Shit. *Behind,* Mick shouts, pivoting to a defense position. He raises his claws, ready to swipe. Sure enough, he comes away with blood and some flesh. When a deep growl nearly shakes the earth and t
~Punch’s Point of View~ Even when I found out my MATE of all people went to see Hector for who knows what fucking reason, it didn’t even make me nearly as pissed as this. Seeing Mags crying in pain, though I know she’s probably not afraid. She’d spit in his eye if she could. *Need you to bring Hugo over here, alive,* I say to Doze, over mind-link. *Uhh, he’s probably not gonna live if I move him,* he replies. Fuck. *Keep him alive for a few minutes, these fuckers apparently had a back up plan,* I seethe. If I shift back again so quickly, I’ll be real tired. Though I might just move on sheer adrenaline alone. This male is probably one of the biggest I’ve seen in their pack and I’m pretty sure I saw him in a fight at some point. He doesn’t seem to be on drugs, but he’s clearly out of his damn mind. *No, he’s desperate and those are the worst kind of idiots,* Mick says, matter of fact. “Hugo! Come on! Stop fucking around,” the male shouts, tugging his arm tighter around Mags. She
~Hazel’s Point of View~ “Hmm, ohhh,” I moan, as Travis moves in and out of me. The heaviness of his body, a little bit of sweat, definitely some grass and … dirt? Whatever. He clearly doesn’t want to talk and I don’t need him to. He keeps eye contact with me more than ever, and it's not lost on me that he’s using his body to say what he can’t. I know what my mate is, what he’s capable of. I know the serious pressure he’s under right now. While I said for so long I’d never be one of those females who shuts up and just takes care of her male… Right now that’s all I want to do. *Whatever he needs us to be,* Simone confirms. When he pulls back he brings my legs together and straight up, but he still moves slowly. He tilts his head back in pleasure with the new sensation as he slides deeper. He grabs a pillow and quickly lifts me, shoving it under my butt. “Ohhh! Ohhh Travis,” I cry out, feeling so much more. He doesn’t stop his rhythm, though he pokes his head between my feet and ki
