Masuk~3 days later ~
Now I have run out of food, I settled in to observe the map.
My location was on a Finn land that used to be inhabited by humans but was deserted due to lack of green pasture.
I had little knowledge of land marks and area as despite my situation with Sam and unwillingness to study I was drawn to traveling so always listened in and made research on different geographical locations.
With the information I had about the area, finding food would be really hard. I roamed around and found a river close by.. it seemed to have little aquatic life drawing closer I went into the river bank hoping to make a kill
I sprouted my claws out and aimed. After much waiting I plunged my hands into the water and soon after pulling out I made a worthy catch. It wasn't much but I kept it aside, waiting to make another kill that will probably last two extra days while I journey to leave the land.
My second kill came moments later and satisfied I set a fire and grilled the food.
I took a minute to relax a bit by the fire, soon I was done grilling and ate to my full.
I pulled my clothes and took a bath in the water.
Feeling rejuvenated, I set camp and laid a few lining in the floor and decided to take a nap by a shed, leaving clothes I washed to drain by a corner.
~few hours of napping ~
I soon sprang up with a poise to attack, my heart beat raced. Realizing it was just a nightmare I relaxed, looking around and my food was gone and a few of my clothes were gone.
I quickly packed what I had left and continued moving but being alert all the while.
I sensed a feeling of familiarity in the environment but I figured I could be just home sick.
I took a peek at the map on my hand to pin point which direction I would head to, it said to head north.
I continued my journey filled with a sense of hope, I shoved what happened earlier in my mind with a thought that it could have been a hungry animal that took my clothes.
Feeling at ease the road seems near, but not too long as I was about leaving Finn land, I heard a scream in the woods.
Two thoughts struck me, one was to run, the other was to find out what was in danger.
“ What could possibly be in danger in this lands, I saw no one on the way"
The screams intensified, I quickly rushed down and found my comrades. It was Paul's son Philip and his wolf Constance.
Constance and I were rivals in class, I always envied the fact she had Philip as her diva.
Constance laid helpless in a trap made of silver teeth. That would hurt a lot
She screamed in pain and Philip helplessly struggled to put the chain apart so her legs would be free.
“You’ve got to be kidding me, how did you two get here?
How long have you been following me?" I asked in excitement and wonder
“We wouldn't be here if crush boy didn't drag me in the middle of the night to tail you" she answered in a sassy manner as always
Turning to Philip he just shook his head and signaled me to give him a hand with a wave of his palm.
Together we pulled hard on each side of the trap and so a small space paved the way and she slowly pulled her legs out of the trap.
He then signaled me again with his head like an epileptic cock. I knew what he wanted me to do
“ Why will I help her with my blood? This is absorb." I questioned in my ego.
Observing closely I saw my missing cloth on her " isn't this my clothes you have on?
I can't believe you will bring your mischievous self into this lands…probably serves you right” I laughed hard at her watching her helplessly wanting my help
My moment didn't last. Soon we heard noise coming from the woods, we sensed their energy and quickly knew we should take cover.
Philip and I lifted Constance and sort cover inside a cave a distance from the area the trap had cut Constance.
We heard the men bicker at each other, and soon they dispatched themselves in search of what had escaped the trap.
This was no time to throw shades at my comrades, I quickly stretched my hands allowing her to take a bite from my wrist with her fangs “ Here , make it snappy" I said in a hurry
A drop of my blood was all she needed for her wounds to heal quickly, luckily for her the silver wounds were not that deep so she started healing immediately.
Seeing she was on her feet in no time we sort of moved to escape the men.
“Someone has to be bait" Constance said looking me dead in the eye as she whispered
She couldn't expect me to go out there, this was all there fault “Why would I give myself in, you be the bait"
“Why does anyone need to be bait? We just have to wait here till they give up their search or probably till nightfall" Philip cut in with a whispering voice.
Constance and I both glanced at each other in ridicule, we were at each other so that we didn't think about other options.
Waiting wasn't quite a bad opinion. We settled in quietly in wait observing for when the men had gone.
“ Hold on, how do we know this cave is a wise place to be in till night fall?" I questioned
“What could you possibly know about caves?"
Constance rudely asked getting on my nerves
“ She is right" Philip cut in to squash the intended argument, he continued
“ We will quickly leave when the sun goes down, we don't know what kind of creature nests here"
We all seemed to settle with the decision and waited patiently.
The sun had gone down and the men seemed to not be on sight.
We set out using our senses carefully.
There was a signature feeling in our parameters. We were safe to travel so we continued.
Soon Constance got in my way and we began bickering again. " This is no place for your kind, this go wrong when you are in sight” I provokenly uttered
" Say the daughter who ran away from home, you always want all the attention” Constance didn't back down. She was always ready with words of defense.
" You think I left home to seek attention? You're always stupid as I thought”
“Constance!
Hernia!” Philip called out but we were to be bickering soon my leg hit a string and Constance and I had been caught in another trap this time it was a net that suspended us both in the air.
We struggled to get out with our claws but the more we struggled, a bell attached to the ropes rang.
" Quite struggling it won't help" Philip instructed
I saw Phillip flee.
I wondered what manner of cowardice he suddenly possessed.
“ Can you imagine that dawt of a diva just bailed on us?" I said out loud with disappointment in my tone.
“I think he saw the barbarians and fled" Constance defended
“ What barbarians?
Oh…” I finally saw why Philip had fled.
“What do we have here? Fresh meat" a tall fully bearded hairy man said as he drew closer aiming his spear at us.
The sun had already gone down on us, clouds formed slowly in the sky looking like it would rain." My baby, Hernia Amber” she called out to me by my name. Watching her cry caused my heart to ache. The way her lips trembled when she spoke my name and the gut-punch of familiarity I felt, sent a jolt of electricity through me.I turned to my dad, he stood with his eyes widened and shivering like he had seen a ghost. His face that was once filled with fire of fury was now gray like a stone carving.“My child, it's me. It's your mother" she sobbed uncontrollably while trying to speak.I signaled the guard to stand down.I was only a few meters away, her lovely cedar scent filled the air. Her shadow followed behind her. She looked different, she didn't have the white garment on. She was draped in expensive high official heavy slick. Her hair was packed in a bun with a jewel piece. Her face bore the elegant tragic lines of someone who survived a lifetime of noble intrigue.I looked in her e
Every instinct in my body screamed at me to confront him.I met him standing arms crossed, facing the low fence.“Why do you enjoy keeping things away from me dad?" I angrily questioned my father as he stood outside staring into thin air,my voice hard as ice.“Hernia! I will not tolerate that tone" he revolted like a wave, his eyes shot at my friend who stood behind in awe of the clash out.“Then talk to me, talk to us dad. I'm your daughter yet I don't even know you dad" I began crashing out not minding my tone.He stood by the fence, his eyes scanning four of us as if scanning casualties on a battlefield. His sharp gaze bore into me with evident contempt“Two months," he whispered, the quietness of his voice more terrifying than a shout.“Two months of silence and searching for you and your friends. While you chased a ghost that didn't want to be found" I blinked occasionally scanning through my conscience. I watched my dad and couldn't recognize the man who I had forced into an ou
“Sir Crisent Herpens!" the king yelled angrily with every vein in his body standing out from increased blood circulation. That unholy name quickly rings a bell, king of the old werewolves, divider of our clan we finally meet eye to eye. I settled into the chair more reserved than ever without fear. For a long time I have heard tales about Lord Crisent. A man greatly feared that commanded all the old werewolves packs. Oppressors of humans and wolves. I turned to the king, he restrained himself greatly suppressing his anger and humiliation. His hands were clenched into his fist, a clear sign of fuming rage. The king was only a puppet, a veneer of authority he wielded as he please.I turned back to Lord Crisent as I read the room. The man’s gaze still mixed with cold rage and animal instinct. His werewolf eyes glowing with dangerous intensity “Careful what you wish for little girl" the masculine growl released from his voice.I remained poised, settled into the chair and let out a mocki
“Dad, I have to go. I will meet you all at Kael's place” I restrained him, pulling him away from the guard who was almost running out of breath.Dad's shoulders relaxed as he stepped away from the guard with eyes darting between me and the guard and his temper still sparring within.Dad grabbed my hand gently still with a flushed face “Don't delay to come to me, understood?" his tone filled with heartfelt concerns." Yes father” I replied with a heavy breath gently pulling away from his grip.…I walked into the king's personal study room. The room has a welcoming scent of old scrolls and heavily burned beeswax oil. The chaos of outside walls halted as the doors were shut by a servant that led me in.The floor was graced with an enormous furry carpet that spread across the room. My feet danced in the softness and relaxation the carpet had to offer.I looked at the wall and was astonished by the painting frames of war and nature. I was so distracted by the aesthetics that I didn't not
The king's face burned in pure awe as he approached, I could tell he was going to harm me. His emotions were of punctured ego and defeat. His sword rested on my shoulders, I felt his panting from the distance he stood. “I accept the results of this challenge and I promise to honor my word and grant your three wishes" he pausedPointing a sword to the crowd. I grew anxious not knowing his next intention “ But, we will feast and make merry with the animals from the hunt. You can appeal to me tomorrow." The people cheered upon hearing the king's decree. He moved closer to me at the position I knelt and whispered “you and your friend have gained my attention and so will no longer be prisoner" He called in the guards to show us where to freshen up and join the party and offered a seat at the official's table.…“I saw my dad in the woods" I whispered to Philip with a mouth full of meat chewing gently. His eyes bulged with surprise. He words as he chews. We both ate like starved dogs. “We
The man swung his sword into the air ready to strike me off.“Nooo!" A voice echoed from a distance plunging the man high into the air.Another beast, a werewolf. It roared at me and I immediately understood. “Get out of here" it said.I recognized that roar. My dad, how is he here? I sprang up with what strength I had left as I wondered. My healing ability kicked in, I limped as I took off and soon my body was in shape to run on both feet. I fled not looking back.I took the direction the elk had headed earlier.I soon felt its strong scent as it had bled heavily and sensed its fear and weakness. The beast lost its will to fight and was about to give up.I latch on the beast throat again and pin it to the ground. It wrestles continuously and I deepen my grip. Its horn gets caught up in the woods and its struggle lessens.I felt its vital artery as it steadied and lounged it out causing blood to splash all over the elk and on my face. The beast finally gives up. It soon goes cold and
“I don't know about you guys but I think he gave each of us a message" Constance gave her opinion.Monks came in, pointing us to our quarters.I pulled Sammy back as she was about to leave no, when others were no longer in the premises I inquired “What do you make of all these?" “Seven flames, you
I got to know the city we were in from the little information. It sure was a big city ruled by a king and his ministers handled different sectors and affairs of the state. It wasn't like back home, dad was the leader of our clan and nobody had to pay taxes or be oppressed. Everyone was treated equa
“What?" Constance, who was silent for a while, exclaimed in shock.“Break in?” she sprouted up from where she sat with her jaw dropped. I quickly shut her with my palms against her mouth, quietly sitting her down.“Shuhh, someone might hear" I whispered looking around to make sure there was no one
I quickly pulled the second pole and aimed for the guard whom was about attacking Philip but missed. The fire pole struck off the blade he wielded. It was long that Kelvin sat up and started mubblig loudly. This time his chants were working. Each guard fell to the ground and soon there was calm.I
