SORA'S POV:-
After eating something, I decided to go back to bed. I was still exhausted. I was shivering as the temperature dropped even more. "Why did you get out without anything warm? This is the Dark Crescent Moon pack, temperature drops here to minus ten at the beginning of winter. And since you don't have your wolf, you need warm clothes to keep yourself warm." Sebastian asked in a low tone. He was kind enough to stay with me until I had dinner and then he was walking me back to bed.
"I would if I could find them. I know I had my warm clothes in the bags. I can't find them anymore." I replied in a low tone and Sebastian stopped in his way.
"We brought all your stuff carefully. The beta's quarters were empty when we left." Hearing him, I smiled nervously and shook my head.
"No, I didn't mean to accuse you. I am saying I can't find them." I corrected myself as I didn't want to get into any trouble. After all, it's the promise I had made with Celeste. That I would behave until she said so.
"Why don't you ask your sister? She is the one who took your luggage from us. Maybe she placed your warm clothes somewhere and didn't tell you." Sebastian spoke in a low tone. I sighed as I knew it would be both useless and impossible for me to ask Solana for anything about my stuff at all.
I already knew that Solana must have deliberately done something with my warm clothes. And she would lie about it. She could even be overly dramatic just to cause me more trouble. "It's not worth it. Talking to her will only cause me more trouble. Whatever I do, I am the bad blood and she is her favorite." I fought the tears that were threatening to spill from my eyes. I didn't want anyone to see that I was weak in any sense.
I went back to my room. Before closing the door, I thanked Sebastian for his kindness. I closed the door and sighed. The bed was warm but I didn't have the comforter. I crawled into the bed and curled up in a ball. It was not that cold when I fell asleep. And also, I was way too tired to worry about the cold weather. All the windows were closed but still it felt like the cold breeze was entering my room through the walls.
Somehow, I fell asleep when my body got used to the cold. When I opened my eyes in the morning, I was stunned to find myself tucked in a warm blanket. And another comforter was placed on the side.
I couldn't help but smile as Sebastian again did something that made him cuter. I crawled out of the bed as I wanted to get my work done. I didn't want my mother to find out that I was seeking help from Sebastian. I didn't want him to get into trouble in any way.
I went into the bathroom, freshened up, changed into a set of clothes that were dirty. I stepped out of my bedroom and found a few maids on my job. Sebastian was standing on their heads, ordering them to clean up. "It's alright, Sebastian. I am okay. I can do my job." I tried to convince him as I grabbed the cleaning supplies from one of the maids.
"Are you sure?" He asked, his voice was laced with concern.
"Yeah! You tended to my wounds and I don't even feel the pain anymore. Thank you for everything. I can take care of it." I replied to him, reassuring him that I was fine. He smiled and nodded his head. Then he walked away and I got to business.
By the time my mother stepped out of her bedroom, I was already done with the chores I was given. My mother tried to find anything she would scold me for, or worse, stop me from joining the academy. But she couldn't find anything at all. I was about to go back to my room when I saw Alpha Cougar walking toward me.
I bowed my head to him, showing off my fake submission. "I see, you are an early riser. Good!" He complimented me. Despite the fake submission and all, it really felt good for someone to actually appreciate me. I didn't care about whatever the compliment was. I just liked the way he said good to me.
I took a deep breath to stop the tears that were forming at the corner of my eyes. "Thank you, Alpha." I thanked him, and this time, the respect I gave him was no longer fake.
"Why don't you join us for breakfast? Go and get ready. We will all be waiting for you. You are also a part of this family now." He spoke in a low tone then walked away. My mother was glaring at me but she didn't say anything since she was no longer in charge.
Tears started flowing freely from my eyes as I whispered: "Yes, my Alpha!"
After cleaning up, I changed into decent clothes and stuffed my books and my training tools in my bag. I had worked extra for the Alpha of my pack and saved up enough to be able to afford all those things I needed just to accomplish my dreams.
I took my bag and walked downstairs. Just so I wouldn't mess anything up, I left my bag outside the dining hall. I walked in and looked around. "You can sit beside Loid." Alpha spoke as he noticed me standing in front of the dining table and nervously looking around. I walked toward Loid and sat down on the chair beside him. I sat down on my chair. Alpha looked happy for some reason. I wouldn't have cared about it, but I needed him in a good mood to get what I wanted.
Taking the opportunity, I turned to look at the alpha. "Alpha! I have a request, if I may." I asked him in a low tone and crossed my fingers.
"Shoot, young lady!" Alpha Cougar replied in a low tone.
"Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a soldier and serve my pack, protect my alpha with my life. I am halfway done with my training. If you allow me, I would like to join the academy here as well." I asked him politely, not wanting to create a conflict. As soon as I spoke those words out loud, almost all heads turned to my way with surprised looks on their faces.
Except for this one face that was contoured with anger for some unknown reason. It was Loid. He was so angry for some reason. "I find nothing wrong with a girl joining the army. If you are done with all your chores, you can go to the academy. I'll contact the principal to test you fairly." Alpha Cougar replied while smiling at me.
My heart was joyous as I heard him. I stood up and bowed my head to show him respect. "Thank you so much alpha for the opportunity. I swear I will make you proud in the field." I thanked him genuinely. There was nothing fake in my words. Alpha Cougar nodded his head then gestured to me to have my breakfast. All of a sudden, I was so very excited about joining the academy.
"Don't get too excited. You can't go unless you are done with all your chores." My mother interrupted as always. I didn't say anything. I knew I was done with everything I was supposed to do. After breakfast, I went to grab my bag. My mother and Solana were looking at me. While my mother looked serious, Solana was smirking for some reason. It was that known evil smirk that I see before I get jinxed. It happened to me way too many times to just brush it off.
I felt the urge to stick my tongue out at them before leaving. I wanted to show Solana my middle finger before leaving. But Celeste's voice echoed in my mind, just a mere word. "Behave!"
I was about to leave when someone called my name from behind. The voice was familiar. I turned and found everyone looking at Loid. "I thought your mother said you can't leave until you have done all your chores." He asked, making my blood boil all of a sudden.
"Loid, she did all of her chores. Why are you stopping her?" Sebastian tried to back me up. My heart was already pounding against my rib cage. I was on the verge of crying. I couldn't ask Loid why he would interrupt me.
"That's because she hasn't cleaned up my bedroom. It's a mess." By then, I was glaring at him for being so mean. When I asked him to let me clean his room, he had the audacity to tell me off by saying that his room was squeaky clean.
He turned to me and found me glaring at him angrily. "What are you waiting for? Go and clean up my room!" He growled at me while barking orders at me as if I was his personal slave. Clutching into the long and baggy shirt I was wearing, I walked past him. My eyes caught the sight of Solana as I was climbing up the stairs. She didn't look happy at all. It would have surprised me if I was not feeling like murdering that bastard Loid.
SORA'S POV:-I had tears in my eyes as I entered Loid's room holding the cleaning supplies. J was a warrior, for the love of the Moon goddess. They were treating me like their personal slave. I wiped my tears and tried to clean up his room as quickly as possible. After sweeping the floor, I went into his bathroom, carrying all of his laundry to his bathroom. I washed his bathroom then I stepped out. I frowned as I looked around. Did I put his clean clothes away as well? I asked myself while looking around. Shrugging my shoulders, I mopped the floor, set his bed then placed all his things back in their place. I looked at his room, which was completely clean. I looked at my dirtying clothes and a growl almost escaped my lips. I had pulled a decent pair of clothing out for the academy. I walked toward his bedroom door. As I stepped out, I found him leaning against the wall. The smirk on his face boiled my blood. I wanted to punch him in the face for ruining my day. Yet here he was, smi
SORA'S POV:-I came back home late that night. As I had guessed right about Loid. He was a jerk and an asshole. I was in my bathroom, soaking my body into the warm water. I had soaked some medical herbs in the warm water to help me with the soreness and my ache in my bones. He left me by dusk, alone at the field. Not that I was afraid or anything. But since I was just starting, he was supposed to be there to supervise me.He made me take laps, about ten times in six hours. And that too, he was not satisfied at five or ten laps. The training field that we were in, was thrice as big as a soccer ground. And he made me run a minimum thirty laps of the group and that was actually once. It was frustrating how a racist like him was supposed to be the trainer that I had. Except for me, the field was empty. It was appalling how not even a single woman on the pack wanted to even try and become one of the soldiers, or even try to be one of the guards in the Dark Crescent Moon Pack. That gave Loi
SORA'S POV:-When I was trying so hard not to mess up anything, I cursed my sister for being a bitch. She was my twin and the devil of my life. Sometimes I even wondered if our mother let a demon impregnate her because there was no way she was this evil without a demon's blood in her veins. I was struggling to open my eyes while my sister was enjoying my agony. She was tugging my long black hair so hard.My heart skipped a beat for no reason. Until I felt someone's presence in front of me. “What is going on here?” My throat went dry the moment Loid's voice echoed in my ears. Despite the burning sensation in my eyes, I forced my lids open to see the world. Everything was blurry. My heart sank in the pit of my stomach as I thought of going partially blind. In that case, I knew my dream of becoming a warrior would be ruined. “It's her fault. She didn't bring me the right drink.” Solana lied through her teeth so boldly. This was nothing new for me. She had been lying I guess since the mom
SORA'S POV:-In the morning, I arrived at the training field. As soon as I stepped in, Loid came growling at me. “Fifty laps of the ground, start running. And you have to finish before the clock ticks 9.” I frowned as I didn't understand the reason why he would be so angry. I sighed as there was no use of arguing with that man. I started running as fast as I could. I only had fifteen minutes to complete my laps.I expected to fall down at the thirtieth lap but it didn't happen. Yes, I was panting but so far, I was not as exhausted. Though, it took me five extra minutes to finish my fifty laps. “I thought you would be able to finish it off sooner. What a shame!” He growled at me, making me growl back at him.“We are practicing sparring today. Get rid of your extra clothing or it will only benefit me. Because I will be coming at you, hard.” He growled as he was wrapping his knuckles with the bandages. I pulled my jacket and the shirt off. I was left in my tank top and skinny sweats. Wh
SORA'S POV:-A few days later, after a long and tiring day at the academy, I stepped out and a wide smile appeared on my face. I found Alex waiting for me on his bike. As soon as I stepped out of the academy, he stood straight, holding a bouquet for me. My cheeks turned pink as I walked toward him. “What is all this?” I asked, keeping my voice extremely low. Though, it was useless since I was surrounded by werewolves.“Hi, to you too. Nice to see you again.” He whispered back, rolling his eyes at me. I couldn't help but giggle at the face Alex just made when he was annoyed. “Sorry!” I apologized and in response, he gently pinched my cheek. “I thought I should visit you, since you can hardly be found at home. You are either studying, doing chores or in the field, training with Loid.” Alex sounded annoyed yet again.“In a few days, you actually learned about my routine. I am impressed, Alex.” He chuckled as he listened to me. “What do you say? Shall we get out of here?” Alex asked me
SORA'S POV:-By the time I went back down, I found Solana standing with mom and feeding her lies. “She didn't complete her chores at all. And she went out.” I wanted to stop her because Alpha Cougar was with mom. He was glaring at me for some reason. So I decided to stay quiet and let Solana humiliate herself in front of the Alpha Cougar. Everyone went to the basement and I followed them. Solana was surprised to see the basement completely empty and clean. “Where is the laundry? Didn't you just say that Sora didn't do her chores?” Alpha Cougar growled at Solana angrily. It was amusing to watch her getting humiliated for once the way she had been humiliating me since I could actually remember.Solana was dumbfounded while she was trying to figure out what she could do. “I swear, she didn't do her chores. You can ask anyone around here. She came in late and went straight to her room. She didn't do anything at all.” My heart started pounding against my rib cage as her suggestions echoed
SORA'S POV:-Mom was glaring at Loid. She could no longer control her anger. After all, Loid had attacked her favorite daughter. She was in her defensive mode, standing in front of Solana. Fuming in anger, my mother growled at Loid “How dare you say…” though, Loid didn't let her complete her sentence.“Uh huh! Save your words. I am not in the mood!” Loid growled at mom and turned to me. “You have five minutes to go and get ready. Not a second more!” He growled at me and I quickly nodded my head. I was about to walk toward the entrance when mom grabbed me by my elbow and stopped me. “She will not leave until the kitchen is clean!” Mom growled at Loid while digging her nails in my flesh.I tried so hard not to cry. I was supposed to be brave like a warrior should be. Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to free my arm from her hold. “And I just fucking told you to tell Solana to do it because Sora is coming with me on her first patrol. Don't make me call the Alpha to bring you to your
SORA'S POV:-A month passed in a blink. Loid hardly let me stay at home at night. I also hardly got time to see Alex. It was as if Loid was doing it all on purpose. I was not complaining since he was practically saving me from my evil sister and her twisted plans to humiliate me. I couldn't let anything like that ruin my chance to reach my dream.According to Loid, I had been doing a little better every single day. Well, that's all he could actually say about me. Or maybe, he just didn't like complimenting others. After a long tiring day at the academy, I walked out, massaging my shoulders. As always, Loid gave me less training and more punishment to run laps.I just couldn't understand what was the need for me to run around the place looking like a fool every time I made a mistake. Shaking my head, I walked back hum. I had a full day planned inside my head. But when was the last time my life let me have a little peace in my chaotic life. For some reason, my heart was pounding so lou
