Chapter One
Sofia's Point of View
"I love you so much Sofia. You are the most beautiful girl in the world," Ethan said as he caressed my cheek.
"I love you too, Ethan, So much. I wish we could be together but I know we can't," I replied with a frown.
"Don't say that. Yes, we can," Ethan said
"But no one would approve of us," I said
"I don't care what anyone thinks; you are mine, forever," Ethan said, and he pulled my body closer to his. I knew he was about to kiss me. I closed my eyes, waiting for our lips to connect.
"Beep, beep, Beep." I woke up to my alarm going off. I looked at my nightstand to see it was six in the morning. I couldn't help but gasp.
"Why does the dream always end before he kisses me?" I said to myself. I had been having the same dream for months about the guy I was in love with, A guy I would never have.
My door busted open, causing me to jump from shock.
"Shut that damn thing off," My mom said, and I pressed the button, making my alarm stop beeping.
"Damn, Sofia. You woke me up. You know I had a long night," My mom said
"Sorry, mom," I replied
"Whatever, I am going back to bed," My mom said and she walked out of my room. I couldn't help but shake my head. Of course, she had a long night. She was out partying until four in the morning. I am surprised she came home at all.
My name is Sofia Jones, and I am seventeen years old. I am 5ft 4in, have long black hair that reaches my waist, and green eyes. I have never met my father. When I was five years old, I asked my mom why I didn't have a daddy, and she told me that it was because he never wanted me. My mom said he said he left because he told her to abort me, but she decided to keep me.
I know what you are probably thinking. Why would my mom tell me that at five years old? Let's just say my mom isn't the best mom out there. She loves to party all of the time, has a new boyfriend almost every month, and is barely ever home.
I got up from my bed and headed to the bathroom. My mom and I live in a small two bedroom apartment. There is one bathroom, a small living room, and a kitchen.
Once I am in the bathroom, I turn on the water to find out the hot water isn't working. I sighed in frustration, knowing my mom hadn't paid the gas bill again. I quickly took a cold shower and brushed my teeth and hair. I put on a pair of old blue jeans and a blue T-shirt. Once I was finished, I went to my room to get things for school.
I walked into the kitchen to get something to eat. When I got in there, my mom was kissing a man I had never seen before, which wasn't surprising. I guess she broke up with Dan or Don or whatever his name was. There have been so many it is hard to keep up with their names.
I quickly grabbed an apple and was about leave, but my mom spoke.
"Sofia, this is my new boyfriend Max," My mom said.
"Hello, Sofia. It is nice to finally meet you," Max said. I didn't miss how his eyes roamed my body causing me to feel disgusted.
"Sofia, didn't you hear Max say hi? Don't you think you should speak to him?" My mom said
"Hi," I replied. I was about to walk away but my mom stopped me
"Sofia, did you forget to pay the gas bill? The water is freezing cold," My mom asked
"I gave you the money to pay it last week," I said
"I used that money for something else I needed to do," my mom said. I knew she was lying. I knew she used the money to party.
"Well, I will be staying at Max's house. He lives in a mansion over on Manchester Street. I can't stay here without hot water. So you will be here alone," My mom said. It wasn't like I wasn't used to being at home alone. My mom had left me alone since I was six. I had to learn how to take care of myself.
"Okay, I have to get to school," I said
"Oh, yeah. My daughter is such a nerd," My mom said as she looked at Max, and then she looked at me. "I don't know why you are still in school. It isn't going to get you anywhere. School isn't for people like us," My mom said. My mom always said things like that to me ever since I was little. It was sad that she didn't want to see me do good.
"Hey, sexy," A guy who looked to be drunk said as I left the apartments. I just ignored him as I quickly walked past. I put my headphones on and listened to music as I walked the fifteen minute walk to the bus stop. I had to take the city bus since the school bus didn't come close to my house. My mom had a car, but she always told me she would never take me to school because she thought it was useless for me to go.
I went to a good school on the rich side of town. I ended up getting a scholarship to go there when I was in fifth grade. The school is a kindergarten through twelfth-grade school. They have two different buildings on the property. One was for kindergarten through eighth grade, and the other was for ninth through twelfth grade.
I was shocked when I got accepted because everyone who goes to Eclipse Academy is rich. I didn't have any friends there except for my best friend, Ella. We had been friends since I started going there.
Five minutes after making it to the bus stop, the bus showed up, and I got on. I sat in the front and looked out the window as the bus drove the one hour drive to my school. I was so happy this was the last year, and then I would be off to college.
After getting off the bus, I walked the ten minute walk it took to get to Eclipse Academy. When I got close to the school, I saw Jane, the head cheerleader and Queen B of the school, standing by the front door with her friends, Brittany and Tiffany.
"Well, if it isn't the poor weak human," Jane said, and her friends laughed like it was the funniest thing ever. I ignored her and walked into the school. "I don't know why she wants to stay here. She doesn't belong," Jane said. She always said weird things, like calling me a weak human. I mean, She was a human, too. I just shook my head as I made my way to my locker.
Ethan's Point of View (Five Days Later)"I don't get it. Why hasn't anyone found proof that Ava is the one to blame for all of this?" I asked angrily. I was pissed because for the last five days I had been trying to get proof that Ava was up to know good. That she was the one who made up all of the accusations. Don, Edward, Ella, Tina, my parents, Stacie, Nick, and Jason were all in the room. They also believed that Ava was up to this. We just couldn't get the proof. The werewolf council was still investigating the accusations about me assaulting members in the kingdom. Everyone they spoke to besides Ava told them that I had never tried to touch any of them. Ava, of course, told them the same thing she told Sofia. That she came to my room to see Sofia, and I tried to force myself on her. She was crazy, and I wished I had never let her stay in the kingdom. "We've checked everywhere in the kingdom and the call didn't come from here," Don said, which made me think. If it didn't come fr
Ava's Point of View"Sofia, what are you doing?" Ethan asked. After Sof and I spoke. She told me that she didn't feel comfortable staying in her room with Ethan. I offered for her to stay with me and she agreed. We were going to move into one of the houses outside the castle. "I am packing my stuff and leaving. I can't stay here with you. I know you cheated on me. I know about you having a witch make something that would stop me from feeling the betrayal of you cheating. Ava told me there are witches that can make stuff like that. I can't belive I trusted you," Sof said"What? I told you I would never cheat on you or try to force anyone. I promise this is a lie," Ethan said and then he looked at me. His eyes turned dark as night. "Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to come between Sofia and me? I know you have something planned. This was your plan all along, wasn't it? You came here to cause trouble, not to help us," Ethan said"Hey, don't talk to her. You are the one who hu
Ava's Point of View"As long as you do everything I say, the hybrid queen will come to our side," My mom said"I agree, but I want to make sure you won't harm Sofia. She is my twin and a good person. Her mom was terrible to her. She wasn't raised as a supernatural. She cares about everyone way too much. We need to save her from them," I replied. When we first planned for me to go to the werewolf kingdom and act like I was an abused orphan, the plan was to turn Sofia against her family. I was supposed to gain her trust and then make her leave her mate. As long as she felt the betrayal of Ethan, she would leave on her own and be happy to help my mom. I knew it would be hard to get my mom and everyone else in our group to like her. I mean, she is a hybrid that everyone believes is an abomination in my group. I also thought that until I got to know her. Sof isn't what I thought she was. She was a good person. "What do you mean, Ava? You want us to let her live after she helps us? We wer
Ava's Point of View"As you wish," My mom said. I smiled as my mom raised her hand and fire escaped. The men screamed as they burned to death."Are you okay, sweetheart?" My mom asked "No. Everything was going perfectly, but then those fools had to mess everything up," I replied. I was so upset. I did everything right. I convinced Sofia that I was there to help her. She believed everything I said. She even believed the things I said about our mother. I just knew everything was going to work out for the best."I know, Sweetheart. Those men told me that the potion they had me give you would work, and she would believe King Blake was being unfaithful, but for some reason, it didn't. You did give her the entire bottle, right?" my mom asked"Yes. I made her some tea and put it in. I watched her drink all of it. I just don't get it. I made her believe you abused me and treated me like a slave, and that I was there to help them defeat you, but then this happened. I really thought everythi
Sof's Point of View"I can't believe she would come onto you, How could my twin sister try to seduce my mate?" I asked angrily. I couldn't believe what Blake told me. Ava came to our room wearing a red dress. I didn't see the dress while we were sitting at the table because she had a long jacket on. She asked him if he found her attractive and touched his chest. She touched my mate. Then, after all of that she has the nerve to lie and say Blake tried to rape her. I instantly knew she was lying. Not only because I would have felt it if my mate was betraying me but also because I trust Blake with everything I have. He was mine, and I was his. We only wanted each other, and that was the way it would always be. "I just don't get it. Why would she make this up? Maybe she is confused," My dad said"Honey, I know you don't want to believe this, but she lied. She did it to come between Blake and Sofia," Stacie said, and my dad sighed"I know. I just can't believe Ava would do that," My dad
Sof's Point of View "Thanks for going to lunch with me, Sof," My mom said as the limo stopped at her house. After lunch, we got into the limo, and the ride to my mom's house was silent. I had so much on my mind. I wondered if what my mom said could be true. Could Ava be up to something? Did she lie to my mom to make me angry with her? My mom wasn't the only person who thought Ava was up to something. Ella also thought so, and as I already knew. When Ella had a feeling she was about someone, she was normally right. "I will see you tomorrow," I replied. The driver opened the door and my mom was about to get out but she stopped and looked at me"I know you don't want to believe me, but you need to be careful. There is something wrong with Ava. She lied when she said I said those things to her. We need to be careful around her. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think I am," My mom said, and then she got out of the car. It took about five minutes to get back to the castle. Once I arrived,
