LOGINMalikâs POV I smiled as I watched my men arrange the weapons neatly. I had planned to attack Darius when he least expected it. Darius was also a strong Alpha whom I knew that I couldnât take down alone. The best way I could achieve my goals was to attack once he let his guard down. âWhen are we launching the attack?â Selene, who had remained silent for a while, finally asked. âI havenât decided the exact date yet but it will be within next week. I heard that there will be an event in the palace within that week.â I answered, unshaken. One of my spies had told me that Darius was planning to organize his late parents memorial service that week. He had promised to get back to me once the exact date had been fixed. âOh, Alpha Dariusâ parents' memorial service?â She questioned. I hesitated for a while as I contemplated on whether I should answer her or not. âYes,â I mumbled, my voice barely audible. âWe canât attack the palace that day, my lord. His parents were nice to me before
Seleneâs POV I couldnât believe my eyes as Alpha Malik walked inside the room. I grabbed my gown quickly and slipped into it. Stefan walked away from me and excused himself out of the room, he was embarrassed. I stood dumbfounded as I tried to understand the happenings around me. I wasnât bothered by the fact that he had caught me in the middle of something embarrassing with Stefan. âAre you the infamous they have been talking about?â I asked, my eyes wide opened in shock. He stepped forward in silence and stared at me for a while. I wondered what he was thinking about as I tied the rope around my gown. âYou couldnât resist your sexual urge these past few days?â He asked. I wondered what he was insinuating because I never had intimacy with any man whilst myself and Darius were apart. âWhy did you help me escape from the palace?â I ignored the question he had asked. I was still finding it hard to believe that Alpha Malik was the one who had saved me. I knew he had an ulterior
Seleneâs POVI lay down on the bamboo bed in the small room I had been sleeping in with my gaze fixed on the ceiling. Stefan had gone out of the house to restock the kitchen. He restricted me from going out of the house for anything, and he also made sure that he locked the house from the outside so that I wouldnât be able to escape. It had been days since I had escaped from the palace to yet another prison. I had been trying to find out who had orchestrated my escape but Stefan had refused to open up. He insisted that I would meet their boss at the right time. I decided to be patient with them, at least I was safe from Darius and his men. There was no place I could have escaped to without getting caught by Darius. I planned how I would survive and exact my revenge on Lily as the days went by. âI have good news for you, Selene.â Stefanâs voice interrupted my thoughts as he entered the room suddenly. I was surprised that he had returned not long after he left, that was unlike him.
Dariusâ POVI felt tired and exhausted as we finally sighted the palace gate from afar. I was angry and disappointed at the same time that all our efforts to catch Selene were wasted. The palace was unusually silent as I walked inside. I sensed immediately that everything was not okay. The thought of Lily crossed my mind and I quickened my steps upstairs. There was an uproar from my chambers as I entered the living room. I quickly changed my direction and headed for the chambers. I was surprised to see Lily sitting down with some of the palace maids and guards gathered around her. For a moment I had thought they had some who caught Selene in my absence. âWhatâs happening here?â I asked as I stepped into the chambers. The room went silent immediately when everyone heard my face. I observed the crown carefully and I recognized the chief maid who was kneeling down. She was crying uncontrollably as she mumbled words that were inaudible to anyone. âWhat the hell is happening here?â
Lilyâs POV The room fell silent for a few seconds as the chief maid stared at me in shock.âCan I finish cooking the food for the palace, my lady? I promise to come back and answer your questions immediately when Iâm done cooking.â The chief said as she tried her best to look confident. I could tell that anxious about my question even though she tried her best to hide it. I asked her a question that she could answer with a âyesâ or ânoâ but she decided to stall for time by using her cooking as an excuse. âAll right then. You can get back to me when you are done cooking. Iâll be waiting for you.â I replied reluctantly. âThank you, my lady.â She bowed slightly and left the room. I was convinced by her actions that she was guilty of something. She looked restless immediately when I informed her that the maid wasnât in any book that was with Darius. I needed to explain how the maid had entered the palace claiming that Alpha Darius was aware. I didnât want to believe that the chief m
Dariusâ POV I had been roaming through different packs for hours without any traces of Selene. I had thought that I would be able to trace her scent and catch up with her but the scent disappeared inside the bush at some point. We stopped right inside the forest where the scent had led us to, there was no sign of any living soul in the area. I knew that something wasnât right but I couldnât just figure out what it was. âI think they are covering their tracks,â Lucien said, with his hands folded across his chest. He was actually making a point because there was no way Seleneâs scent could just disappear in the middle of the forest where thereâs no place to see refuge. âYou are right, Selene is very smart when it comes to escaping and the person who had helped her escaped seems to be smarter.â I said as I sat down under a big tree. I had promised Lily that I would capture Selene before returning back to the palace. I knew she was going to be disappointed when she sees me without S
