The ride up is silent and almost uncomfortable, Cassie keeps staring at each floor button light up, waiting for the doors to open up. She’s grateful for what Alex and Aaron have done, yes it came as a surprise, a really out of this world surprise and it was like all her dreams were finally falling into place She knew they had just played major roles in letting that happen, yet, she didn’t know how to appreciate them appropriately in words. How was she supposed to start? What was she to say? She already felt the awkwardness strangulating the air in the elevator with them They had just become a part of her life yesterday and they were already doing so much, it was insane, but she loved every bit of it. Before she could distract herself with some other random thought, the elevator doors slid open “This way” Aaron tells her, gesturing to the direction of what she recalled, used to be the boss’s office Cassie spent most of her days in Brandon’s work place, every free time she got, she
Cassie sat at the back seat of the car, staring blankly at mostly nothing but greenery. Alex was behind the wheel and they were somewhere on the outskirts of town now, in-between forests; mostly just trees. Cassie liked the serenity around the location as there were hardly any cars plying the route, which made the drive now super quiet and lonely, but for their occasional chatter. She loved the trees that filled the area, perfectly lined up, like they had been deliberately planted in that manner. Cassie wasn’t familiar with the collection of French contemporary artists of the millennium, but for some weird reason, she enjoyed this particular album by Jane Fostin. She wished she had taken her French classes more seriously, maybe she would have known what the song was about. But all of that didn’t stop her from enjoying the sweet soothing melody that blasted from the radio.“Why aren’t you worried? We could be kidnapping you; you know?” Aaron says, instantly getting Cassie’s attentio
There was a parting within the crowd on the dance floor, through which Cassie weaves her way, instantly dancing faster to the loud music. She throws her head backwards and balances her hand on her hips. She can suddenly perceive the strong smell of the joint and a presence around her, so she opens her eyes to see Alex standing in front of her. She smiles at him, takes the joint from him, puffs it, passes it back and eases back into her dancing, this time aware that Alex is just beside her. She could feel him close to her and she liked how he wasn’t going anywhere. She feels his muscular hands snap around her waist, and she tilts her head as he pulls her towards himself. He grabs her hands as she spins around letting go while he does a moonwalk. He looked like he too was enjoying the loud music. Cassie turns around, giving him her back and letting his both hands find their way around her waist as she begins a slow wind. She spins around again and looks across to where they were sit
Cassie cannot stop thinking about their impending trip to Korea and her chance to finally convince Mr. Parks to publish her bestseller. She had been preparing for this opportunity and all she needed to do now was get over the line; whatever it took. There was still a little over forty- eight hours before they were scheduled to depart but she was already feeling a little anxious. She had dedicated time specially to go over the work again, making sure every chapter was near perfect. This was a once in a life time opportunity and she wanted to make it count. These past few days, she had hardly spent time with the boys, as most of the time they would have left for work before she found the time to come downstairs and by the time they got back, she was already either tucked in bed or too engrossed in her editing.Alex and Aaron had been preoccupied with meetings all week long. They were introduced to the staff; including Brandon and Mr. Cho whom they recalled from the day Cassie had s
Cassie had done her final packing arrangements and had gotten off the phone with Brandon, who was trying to help her feel a bit more relaxed, not like it had worked though. She had not managed to get any quality sleep all night, so she finally gave up trying and had gotten out of bed by five. She was excited and anxious about the trip because she had never been to Korea all her life. It was one of her favorite places, considering how addicted she was to Korean drama. Traveling had never really been a thing she did often; between raising her and work, her dad never really got the chance to take her on travel vacations. She did what she could to at least see a handful of places and she often wondered if it was because she was a writer that made traveling so poetic for her, but she loved the mere thought of new people, new cultures, new beliefs and everything that came with vising a new place. Here she was, going to one of her dream countries to fulfill one of her greatest dream; h
Cassie had been asleep for a while now, she had woken up a few times to use the rest, eat and have a little chat with the boys. She had gradually fallen asleep again when Aaron informed her that they were just less than two hours away from Seoul. The guys were used to flying and both of them were wide awake, Alex had been engrossed in the Call of duty he was playing on his tablet while Aaron scribbled translations from a foreign language which he was currently pursuing knowledge in. Aaron was now helping himself to a couple of shots of Jack DanielsCassie wakes up slowly to the feeling of someone’s hand on hers. She realizes and quickly shuts her eyes, as she hears whispers beside her, turning a little, like she is trying to settle in a bit more comfortably, in such a way that she could listen into the conversation more. A part of her felt bad, but she was just curious to know what the boys talked about when she wasn’t around. She finally made out the voice beside her and it was A
Cassie decides not to dwell on whether the two men were jealous or not. She was glad they had finally landed, after what seemed like a lifetime in the air; looking forward to visiting the Hangang Art park, and most importantly, going to make sure that she returned back home with an agreement to publish her book, from Mr. Parks. The drive to the hotel was mostly quiet as Cassie let her eyes do most of the work, except for when she had the conversation with Yang regarding the famous world’s highest glass floor she’d seen on YouTube, and was hoping to experience in person, as well as the occasional chattering between Alex and Aaron about work related stuff. Cassie felt really exhausted and she couldn’t wait to get a warm bath and real bed.Aaron had called Mr. Grant earlier, informing him that they had arrived safely, been picked up by Yang, and right on schedule for their meeting in a few hours. Cassie had deduced from the conversation that Mr. Grant was most likely the owner of som
Cassie relaxes into her bed, her head swirling with sinful thoughts of the guys in the other room. She let herself wonder what their room looked like, and what they were probably up to, concluding to herself that they only had just about enough time to freshen up and head out for the meeting with Mr. Grant. She had the luxury of the river view from her room and had just gotten out of a really relaxing tea soak which she couldn’t wait to tell Brandon about. She grabs her phone, just as she remembers that she hadn’t spoken to him since they had boarded, and immediately connects to the Wi-Fi, before opening face time“Hey ya” Cassie screams into the phone just as he picks up “Look who’s in Seoul” she adds excitedly“And look who’s at work” Brandon says, without looking at Cassie. His eyes were glued to the papers in front of him“Oh shit! Different time zones!” Cassie exclaims in surprise, she had totally forgotten about that“Hold on Cas” Brandon says, his eyes still on the work
