LOGINLucas's POV
I got out of the office building in a rush. My eyes caught the mirror in front of the car. I was looking messy already. The sound of my phone buzzing couldn't let us finish up. God knows how long I have waited for this day but not be interrupted by something like this. I guess you don't always get what we want. I could imagine the look in her eyes. The disappointment that comes with it. She wanted more, I know, but right now Naomi needed me. I can't just let her down, it would break her so much, and I wasn't ready to do anything that could jeopardize the relationship, not when we just started. It took me time to finally get myself to accept this new relationship. It is something I must do, to protect my image, to protect the legacy I have worked on all my life. Coming to New York was to get everything back on track, but right, as it is, I don't see myself focusing on anything else than Kayla. I wished I could fuck her the way I had imagined, install in her how to properly fear me. There had better be a rematch because it is not the end yet. I managed to shove my thoughts behind, increasing the high speedometer of the car. The more I drove at that level, the car's engine cracked in some sound and, in my ear, it felt like Kayla screaming and begging me to increase my pace. Fuck. It was hard to concentrate without a fling of her in my thoughts. As I approached the arrival gate, I properly arranged my necktie, and straightened my suit. I sighted Naomi from afar, in the arrival area. She looked so beautiful. Her blue dress fits in properly with her body, showing her curve. I still find it hard to believe how a woman in her late 30s could be this sexy. “Naomi” I called out, waving at her like a little child who had just welcomed her mother after a long time away. It was really nice seeing her again. It's been weeks since I left California for New York. I had to leave her behind so I could settle with things here perfectly before calling her to join me here. “Baby” Naomi's voice filled the air as she ran into my arms. “I have missed you so much” she blew kisses on my face. “I miss you too, baby” I gently caressed her back. We were in that position for a few moments. **************** Naomi and I held hands together while I drove into the city of New York. It was a different feeling having someone who genuinely cares about you by your side. Naomi constantly proved to me that no matter what, they would always love me. She came into my life when things were extremely difficult. My past relationships played a big role in all of those calamities. All thanks to Naomi, she let it known that I wasn't the problem. “How has New York been treating you so far?” Her voice suddenly laced with the thought in my head. “Good so far”, I responded with a warm smile on my face. “It's so nice to share the same air as you”, she smiled in return and continued, “I really cannot wait to see the beautiful place you have found. Also, I told you about my daughter who lives alone in New York, right?” She glanced at me with a questioning brow. “The feisty one who has refused to talk to her mother?” I smiled. Yeah, she is not always like that though. "She is sweet deep in the heart”, she responded in her defense. “I guess she took after you” “Really, you haven't even met her” We stole glances while we smiled and giggled about her daughter. One thing I have learned about Naomi is. She is the family type. She loves her daughter so much. You could tell by the way she talked about herself with so much joy in her eyes. I was just going to focus on my relationship with her. I am not the type to go well with young adults. For more reasons, Zack has been away for some time now. Seeing how much Naomi loves her daughter, I just have to accept it for myself. I should love her daughter just like she adores her. “Guess what, she finally agreed for a family dinner”, she beamed with joy. “Really! That is great news" "Tomorrow will be fine, right? Let's invite her over to the house.” “Okay, I will just text my baby Kayla. I was so filled with joy— “Baby Kayla?” I glanced at her, my hand still moving on the car steering. “Kayla, what is her name?” I asked again. “Hmm, hmm” she murmured, nodding her head, her eyes buried on the phone. “Kayla”, the name rang in my head continuously, sounding very familiar. It can't be the Kayla I know, right ? No, I would know if she was Naomi's daughter. There are so many Kaylas, and she can just be one out of a multitude of them. “Is everything alright?” Naomi interrupted into my lost thoughts. “No. "I'm okay ", I responded, pushing my thoughts away and focusing on what was important. Naomi. ****************** The aroma coming from the kitchen direction was something that made me gulp down my throat like I had something kept in it. I assisted her with arranging the table with the different varieties of food. She indeed outdoes me when I watched her prepare all her daughter's favorite meals. “I would like her to have a taste of all of them. "I can't wait to watch her eat”, that was her response. A few moments, we were done. I got in the bathroom, took a shower and got into my best ever suit. I was going to make a good impression on my new stepdaughter. We were both seated, waiting when we heard the sound of the bell. “Let me go get the door,” Naomi said. I heard her in the hand, a little smile across my lips. “We should welcome her together,” I stated. “Thank you, Damien” We both tugged our arms at one another and walked to the door. “You are welcome to- my lips curled, the smile suddenly disappeared. Our eyes opened in shock as they met. My thoughts were confirmed. Kayla is my secretary, my new stepdaughter and the one who I shoved my cock deep inside her throat!KAYLA POV The journey back to that old bridge house was like a movement back to my past. But I was consoled that I had a mission there. In Joe's SUV, his cigarette smoke was thick but I didn't care due to what I've seen for the past days. The journey was a silent one as neither of us said anything to each other. It felt like we've said everything that needed to be discussed. In no time, I saw the bridge house in sight once again as it looked unrecognizable. It looked like a deformed skeleton adorned with yellow caution tape all around the place. Looking at this structure before me, I couldn't call it a house anymore because everything in it has darkened to an unusual extent. Despite the fire dying out long ago, white smokes were still visibly seen moving around like ghosts. When we reached a certain meter away from the house, Joe stopped the car which I came out. I realized this was a driveway then. Detective Joe came out also but leaning on the car. "I'll give your space, Kayla bu
KAYLA POVAt first glance, I realize that the Federal Bureau of Investigation's field office was somewhere that can't explain in words. It seems like the screams from people inside can be swallowed by that massive structure. When I'm back to reality, I realize that I was in the 12th floor of that building. Sitting on a high backed chair, the office was adorned with awards but simple in nature. My attention was drawn to the television on the wall when I saw different news. BREAKING: GOVERNOR DECIDES TO STEP DOWN AMIDST SEVERAL ALLEGATIONS OF CORRUPTION. BENTA'S & CO STOCKS PLUMMETS AS THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ARE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY. After that headline, a footage was displayed when Sterling was led out of that warehouse in handcuffs. He was the only person out of the place. This means the explosion killed those cleaners but not him. Seeing his composure, he didn't walk like a lord anymore but like a cornered rat. But on closer view, his face was raging with fury. "He hasn't said anyt
KAYLA POV The pin drop silence in that warehouse was terrifying and my body reacted badly. It was an old taste filled with betrayal and dust. Looking at the warehouse, Sterling stood there with his cold and triumphant stance as he held his tablet. "Ninety five percent already?" Sterling said as his thumb was still on the tablet screen. "I'll said Zack was such a genius who knew the situation before it happened. He saw the future that he'll be hunted if the evidence leaked. So, this "dead man's switch" he created alerted us which led me to you for negotiation". Everything was just blurry as I tried to stay. Joe couldn't move as he was stunned by this revelation. To worsen the situation, the laser gun threat was back as those tormenting red dots were on us. Surviving these dots twice in a period of time is just insane. "What should I negotiate again with you have killed everyone I know?" I yelled back at him. "I have to stop this remaining 5% from uploading completely. This part c
KAYLA POV Looking at those incoming headlights, it has a resemblance to the twin suns who came to redeem the long night. As it drew closer, I had to prepare myself for the worst in case it's another troop of cleaners. The mudded covered SUV halted in front of me as the tires shrieked. The door opened violently but I still held my ground. "Come in quickly before the smoke will alert other cleaners to this place", I was dumbfounded as I saw the person in the car. That was Detective Joe. He was a ghost of his usual personality. The battered face filled with injuries, shirt stained with blood was clear evidence of this testament. He signalled me to come in with his hand gesture. "Joe?", I called out to him as I finally found my voice. "I thought the fire had.... Even Sterling said..." "That Mothrfucker brags a lot that he forgets reality. Actually, I had to escape through a vault in that godforsaken house. Found an SUV which i had to hop in to further my movement there. I had 10 min
KAYLA POV The laser gun dot on my forehead was like a scorching but tiny metal implant. It was heavy but it had an accumulated attack on my skull. Despite this, my hands were voluntarily and involuntarily holding on to the ledger. The body was shivering internally due to the cold but the environment was furious with heat from Sterling and his cleaners. "Kayla, I'll give you three seconds to surrender that ledger", his voice was as flat and mechanical as he looked at his wrist watch. "Three. Two. One_""Hold on", Lucas roared while facing Sterling. His voice was as commanding as how I knew him. It seems he has returned to his prime in a split second. Lucas moved forward while the red laser followed him. He walked towards me and stood between me and Sterling while the cleaners maintained their position. He reached out for his pocket in his tattered suit which made Sterling and his men alert. "Sterling, I know the board ordered you to get that ledger at all cost. But do you really ne
KAYLA POV If everything had its warm nature, the river didn't hide its cold nature as it exhibited it freely. Human corruptions or the weight of the ledger I'm holding didn't matter to this entity as it loves its free nature. The only factor it worked with was gravity. The acceleration during the current movement halted me at the base of that old mill. The drainage pipe at that old mill nearly sucked out oxygen from me. My upper body was temporarily numbed but I regained control slowly. I slowly stood as I spat out brackish water filled with rusted iron. The base here was very quiet that you can listen to the breathing of those thick stone walls. Checking myself, I realized that the ledger was still safe with me. "Wow, that was a long ride", I muttered as I tried to gain control of my voice again. I was still shaking as that cold water affected me but I couldn't adapt automatically. Looking around my immediate environment, I realized I was the kingdom where rusts was the air and ad
KAYLA POV If I can recall anything, it was being caged into this room. After being locked up here, the abductors came in to play their dirty game and still outsmarted me. The environment still had the resemblance of what I saw before falling asleep. I slowly stood up and sat on the bed trying to t
KAYLA POV I tried to blink severally times to ensure it was a nightmare, but reality hit me hard. I was in the lion's den, and the hungry lion was trying to be nice with his prey. The room was just basic but had electricity and basic furniture for a bedroom. Checking around, I discovered that ele
KAYLA POVI was left alone in that damn room for some hours. At one point, I felt frustrated and tensed up for different reasons. First, being in this damn room instead of my office, which happens to be my second home. Also, the attitude and character of these people pisses me off. My perfectly arr
ZACK POV Noticing the empty office of the active admins, I knew something was wrong. From inception, before I was brought on board in this company, a record was shown that Kayla is one of the active admins so far. I immediately reached out to my phone and dialed Kayla.
