New Home

Helena's steps slowly entered a two-floor house in an elite residential in the west of the city. A place with a combination of white, broken white, and brown there. That was their new house, Helena and Aaron.

In the morning, Aaron suddenly knocked on her hotel room. She, who was still half-conscious from her wedding the day before, could only stare at him when he handed her a key, then without further ado, left her, which made her couldn't help calling him when she fully regained consciousness.

"That's our house key. I'll send you the address later." That was Aaron's answer when she asked about the key she got.

And because of that, here she was, entering the house numbered thirty-two, which turned out to be filled with complete furniture.

This house was spacious but not as big as the house she had lived in with her family. However, she didn't want a place that was too big. It would feel empty if it was just the two of them. Oh, she also once said that she wanted to live alone after her marriage. It meant just her and Aaron. Not with the other family, especially their grandfather. And she was glad Aaron still remembered it.

Helena walked around on the first floor. Like houses in general, the living room, lounge, kitchen, and dining room were here. There was also a room large enough that she guessed it would be used as a guest room.

Then, she moved to the second floor. The space on this floor wasn't as ample as the floor below. There were three rooms, one of which was used as a workspace because it only consisted of a table and a chair and shelves filled with books. The exploration continued to a room with a king-size bed in it. Would this be their room? Her feet stepped towards the sizeable walk-in closet there. When she opened it, she could see dozens of Aaron's clothes neatly arranged there. Even without opening it, she could see the things inside very clearly because the door was made of glass. It seemed that this place would be their room.

Then, she remembered another room that she had not checked. Helena left the room and moved into the room right beside it. It was filled with a bed that was slightly smaller than the previous room. There was also a large wardrobe and dressing table. This place was like another version of the room before, minus the bathroom that wasn't available there.

After circling for quite a while around her new house, Helena was satisfied with Aaron's choices. He succeeded in constructing her wish to own this large enough house. She could feel how carefully the man decorated this house. And she felt comfortable with all of Aaron's choices.

Helena threw her body onto the big sofa in the lounge. She thought about what to do next. Going home and picking up her clothes became the first thing to do. She would use the existing empty room as her room. She wasn't ready to be in the same room with her husband. There was still a corner in her heart that had not entirely accepted the man's presence. She could only hope that time could answer the continuation of their relationship in the future.

Okay. After going home, maybe, Helena could go shopping to fill the food stock in the refrigerator. Then what else? Before shopping, she could stop by the cafe for a while. She hadn't been there in a long time. The last time was when Aaron said about an arranged marriage, which unfortunately the less fortunate woman was herself. Ah, remembering the incident always brought up her disappointment in Aaron. But, life must go on. She didn't want to dissolve in the frustration that could hinder her happiness. Happiness must start from herself, right?

--

Aaron was enjoying his break time in his new home. He was alone there. Helena, who he thought was waiting for him at home, turned out to be nowhere to be seen. Was she waiting for his return? What a luxurious hope. She agreed to live with him here was Beyond belief. She didn't want to be too greedy to make wishes. The reality of his relationship with Helena wasn't that beautiful.

Then, he heard the sound of a car stopping in front of the house. Before long, the front door opened, showing Helena and the things she brought. Three large suitcases and three reasonably large cardboard boxes. Helena left the door open until she finished putting everything in and went in after.

Aaron leaned his body against the wall while observing his wife's activities. "Need help?" he asked when Helena passed him carrying a box to the kitchen. Oh, she just finished shopping.

There was no answer from Helena. The woman passed silently in front of him. When she came back to take another box, she remained silent. It felt very reluctant to start a conversation with Aaron.

Because he didn't get an answer, Aaron let her go. He had no intention of interfering with her activities. However, when he saw Helena was having trouble lifting the third box, he decided to intervene. "If you need help, just say it. Don't try to do it all by yourself," he said, then took the box from her hands and brought it to the kitchen. "What are you shopping for?" he asked as he arranged the boxes on the kitchen table.

"A lot," Helena answered briefly. Yes, she did buy a lot of things that were almost entirely household necessities. Luckily Helena had lived alone while studying in England, so Helena knew what it took to keep them alive in this house. And at the moment, she had no intention of hiring a housekeeper. Instead, she wanted to get to know her new home better by doing what she could do by herself.

For the same reason, she was determined to lift the big suitcase by herself. The problem was, moving up against gravity requires extra energy. So, she was pretty breathless even though she was only halfway up the stairs. And why was her suitcase so heavy?

Aaron could only shake his head looking at her. It was clear that he was telling Helena to ask for his help. Aaron just found out that the woman was very stubborn. "Do I have to say again if you can ask me a favor?" he said.

Helena pursed her lips, hearing Aaron's insinuation. Perhaps, she shouldn't need to be this stubborn anymore. After all, they lived together. But, unfortunately, this kind of situation would happen again in the future. And she would have trouble if she indulged her ego, which was reluctant to ask her husband for help.

"Wait," Helena stopped when he saw Aaron about to put her suitcase into the main room. That was the room previously filled with Aaron's belongings.

Aaron stopped his steps, then turned to Helena. "What is wrong?"

"I'll sleep in there," she pointed at the other room she planned to occupy.

Aaron's brows furrowed in surprise. "Are you sure? What if our family finds out about it? Sooner or later, they will visit us."

Helena was silent. His answer was correct. What if their family suddenly came here? They would be surprised to see her sleeping in a different room from her husband. Even if that was the case, she had to hide it as best as she could. Her grandfather would be angry if he found out about it.

"It seems that we have to talk about the continuation of our relationship," said Aaron after seeing the doubt on his wife's face.
