Aria’s POV

The room felt small, but the space between us felt even smaller.

I could feel my heart hammering against my ribs, a steady thud that echoed in my ears.

When his hand reached out and gripped my waist, I stopped breathing for a second. His touch wasn't gentle; it was firm, possessive, and it sent a jolt of electricity straight through me.

I was losing my mind. My head started to spin, a mix of dizziness and pure desire that made it hard to stay upright.

I swallowed hard, my throat feeling dry as he moved. Without a word, he nudged my knees apart, spreading my legs to make room for him.

Aria’s POV“Kaelen, let me go!”I kept punching his chest while he carried me in his arms.My fists landed against him again and again, but it felt useless. He did not loosen his grip. He did not even slow down. Instead, his body grew larger and heavier in one sharp moment. Before I could react, he placed me on his back.I had no choice.I grabbed onto him tightly, my fingers sinking into his thick fur because if I let go, I would fall. I did not even want to think about what would happen to me if I did. My heart was beating too fast.“Kaelen!” I screamed. But it was like he could not hear me at all. Or maybe he heard me and chose not to listen. He just kept running, his large paws hitting the ground hard as he moved faster and faster through the forest. The wind hit my face. My hair flew everywhere, and I had to squint just to keep my eyes open. My arms were wrapped tightly around him, my body pressed against his back. I could feel the power in every step he took.I did not know how

Aria’s POV“Everyone, scatter around! Keep searching for evidence. If you smell anything unusual, call me immediately!”The guards quickly agreed with Aiden. They moved fast, spreading out in different directions.I stepped closer to Aiden and pointed toward the opposite side of the forest. “I’ll take this area,” I told him.He shook his head right away. “It’s too dangerous.”“No, Aiden, please,” I said, keeping my voice steady even though I could already feel my patience thinning.“This will make our work faster!”He looked at me like he wanted to argue more, but I didn’t back down.“I can handle myself,” I added. “Please remember that I am the Aristea. The Aristea’s wolf spirit will guide me.”Aiden stared at me for a long moment, like he was weighing every possible outcome in his head. I could tell he didn’t like this at all. His jaw tightened, and he let out a sharp breath, clearly frustrated.“Okay,” he finally said. “But don’t wander too far. I don’t want you suddenly disappeari

Aria’s POV“Aria, baby… are you okay?”Aiden asked. His voice was soft, but I could hear the worry in it.“I noticed you’ve been spacing out again. It’s like you’re not really here. What happened?”His words snapped me back to reality. I blinked and finally focused on him.Our eyes met, and I immediately saw the concern written all over his face. He looked tired, tense, like he was carrying a heavy weight on his shoulders. Our twins were already inside the bedroom, sleeping peacefully in their crib. We made sure they were comfortable and deeply asleep before leaving the room. From now on, guards were stationed outside the door at all times. Not just one, but several, rotating shifts. Aiden personally gave the orders. He wasn’t willing to risk anything anymore. Not after what happened. He reached for my hand and gently rubbed it, trying to ground me. His touch was warm and familiar, but instead of calming me, it made my thoughts spiral even more. Something felt wrong. Deep inside, I fe

Aria’s POV“K-Kaelen…?”My voice cracked the moment it left my lips.I didn’t expect it to sound that weak, but it had been so long since the last time I saw him.My chest tightened, and my hands shook as I stood there, staring at him like he was a ghost that somehow learned how to breathe again. He looked at me.Our eyes met.But instead of recognition, instead of warmth, there was confusion.I watched him study my face slowly, like he was forcing his memory to work. His eyes moved from my eyes to my hair, then to my cheek. His brows pulled together, and then he tilted his head slightly, as if trying to place me somewhere in his mind.“Who are you?” he asked. The words hit me harder than any wound I had ever taken. My heartbeat suddenly grew louder in my ears.“What?” I asked, my voice barely holding. “What do you mean?”He took one step forward.Without thinking, my body reacted on instinct. I stepped back.He noticed it, but instead of getting angry, his expression softened. His sh

Aria’s POV“Please find them! Find the twins!”I was screaming so hard that my throat started to hurt. My voice cracked, but I did not care!My heart was beating so fast that I could hear it in my ears. My hands were shaking uncontrollably, no matter how hard I tried to stop them.Aiden was panicking too. His jaw was tight, and his hands were clenched into fists. But he was trying his best to stay calm for me. He stepped closer and held my shoulders firmly.“We are going to find them, okay?” he said, forcing his voice to stay steady. “Don’t worry. Breathe in. Breathe out.”I wanted to listen to him. I really did. But my body refused to cooperate. My lungs burned, and my vision blurred. I stared into nothing, lost in my thoughts, thinking of every terrible possibility. Who would do such things?!Before I could spiral even further, Aiden suddenly grabbed me.
