Chapter 4

Boston Mass. 2019

Abigail woke up in a cold sweat. She had yet another nightmare. They were always the same. Flashbacks of her life before she got clean. She looked over at the digital clock on her bedside table. Three thirty on the dot, just like every night had been for months.

It was too early to start the day, but she was too wired to go back to sleep. On top of that she knew that Azria was waiting for her the minute she closed her eyes, and that life was a distant memory she didn't care to remember. Abigail got out of bed anyway. Determined to look over the contract for the buyout to see if there was any wiggle room for her current patients.

Her clinic was damn near bankrupt and although she had enough donations for the things she needed, she was still somehow barely keeping the lights on. With the way the contract read, her current patients were going to have to find another place to seek treatment as they were not able to pay the hefty cost.
