ADRIENNE'S POV
It was lunch period and I was at the cafeteria, seated with Kate and Aileen. Christian had also agreed with Kate to sit with us for lunch along with two other guys- his friends from the basketball team.
Both guys were tall, one a black American and the other, a blonde with hazel eyes. They were good looking and Aileen seemed to have been smitten by them, as she kept smiling to everything they said like a possessed little girl.
I had totally ignored my promise to meet with Alec after Literature class ended and as a result, I've been avoiding him all day but for how long. I just sat there, picking on my French fries as I try to pay attention to the discussion ongoing between Christian and Caleb, the black American. James, the blonde with really cute eyes performs a common trick in which he removed a coin from behind Aileen's ear.

ADRIENNE’S POVI was seated on the opposite side of Kathie and Christian as my mind wanders off. Nick had told me earlier that he wasn’t perfectly sure Alec remembered all that had happened Saturday night and I couldn’t help but wonder to what extent he remembers. I mean we had literally shared a kiss and it wouldn’t be fair on my part to remember that moment all alone.After Saturday night, I had avoided Alec like a plague. I guess I couldn’t bring myself to have a conversation with him yet or even stay within the same space without my eyes drifting back to those wicked lips of his.He did show up for some of the classes we took together and whenever we made eye contacts, he had a questioning look on his face. But I, for now, didn’t have any answer to them. So I just stare at my food and pick on it, which was odd of me since fries was one of my favorite.
