Chapter 4: Cassy's Perspective

A random voice filled the library which woke me up, and I was shocked to see how many students were here, sitting in every corner of the place, reading different books, laughing with their friends, which made me envious. I wished I had someone like them, with whom I could share my interest, my hobbies, and hang out with, but there was just part of my dreams. I sighed but then, I remembered what happened to me.

I wonder why the light didn't fetch me yet? I'm confused, I thought.

"Come on, Cassy, don't overthink things again, just walked around, it is much better," I mumbled.

I roamed around the place and I noticed that no one could see me nor touch me. I was certainly afraid at that moment.

I've tried to talk with the students that were passing by but they really couldn't see me. Their eyes never meet mine either.

I wanted to cry but it was a waste of time, the fact that nothing will gonna change if I cried. So I lifted my chin up, and just watched the students, but the more I watched them the more I got bored. Not until I saw a door that had a note posted on it.

"RESTRICTED AREA! BETTER TO BROWSE THE BOOKS OUT THERE THAN TO GET CURIOUS WHAT'S INSIDE."

Well, whatever inside of the room doesn't matter to me, but for the one who wrote this passage, telling people not to get curious, was insane, I guess. He or she just made people more curious about what was really inside the room, they shouldn't give people any clue that there was really something inside, if I were them, I rather took it off.

"Haiiissst! What a jerk!" I muttered and attempted to leave but my feet immediately turned to face the door once more, before I could left.

"Too bad for you, I am really curious right now," I whispered, and I entered the room since I could enter through the walls. And my eyes widen in amusement to see what was inside the room, it was also huge but the color was extraordinary, and the book was well categorized, it has a wonderful arrangement too, well, all you could see were colors black and white, literally.

The walls are white mixed with a black lining in the middle, even half of the curtains are pure black, and half of it was white as snow, what a wonderful combination, the person who wanted this place looks like this, had a very good taste! Amazing!

Well, as my eyes were scanning the place, I've noticed a man in a white shirt who was lying on the couch with his book on his face, and I guess he was asleep since I could hear him snoring so loud in here, haha! What a snore!

I just ignored him and continued to observe the place. Then something had caught my eyes, a book entitled "LOVE and DEATH," by Belle Cassy, I wanted to browse the few chapters of it, but I couldn't, haiisst, I sighed in disappointment, how I wish I could touch it.

"This is too unfair! If the light won't get me for now, then they at least gave me the chance to touch things," I murmured as I pouted my lips.

"Who's in there?" A voice came from my back, and when I turned around, it was the man on the couch, and he was awake. But to whom was he talking to?

I looked around me but saw nothing. I was confused for a while.

"He might be dreaming," I thought and continued to look at the books that were organized well on the shelves, I was looking at their titles when I heard him talked again.

"Hey? what are you doing here? How did you get in?" He said, well I didn't look who was he talking to, the fact that nobody can see me.

Well, I never tried to look at him too, because I was also stuck and impressed by every book that was in front of me. But every author wasn't familiar with me. It was strange!

"This was very odd, are they not popular Authors?" I whispered loudly.

"Who are not popular Authors?" I heard the guy asked behind me.

"These Authors," I've pointed out the books, "I've never heard of them before, they are not really familiar to me, it's so strange," I instantly answered.

"Really? Well, they are popular, haist! What is this conversation means for? It doesn't matter to me right now, you're trespassing, that what's matters to me!" He said in a mad tone, that his pitch was too high. But why? It was his fault.

"Well, it was your fault, you make people get curious because of the..." I couldn't continue what I was supposed to tell him, the moment that I realized we're actually exchanging words. No one can see me nor hear me, but this guy can. What?

I hurried to look at the guy's face, he was a tall white man, his eyebrows were thick, and his lips were red as rose, and his eyes were black, his facial appearance was too perfect for him, he was honestly handsome, and he's skin was looking soft like a woman.

Well, I was mute for seconds, because he can really see and hear me, he was standing in front of me and we made eye contact.

I blinked my eyes a few times, thinking it was only just a dream. So I stared at him, but I'm not imagining things, he can really see me.

I looked at his face and he was serious to approach me, "What?" he said and bent his brow.

"You can see me? And you can hear me, right?" I asked him.

His face painted a curious looked, "What are you babbling about? Of course, I can see you!" He exclaimed.

"But how?" I asked again.

"Hah?" He said, "What do you mean by how? Are you out of your mind?" He added. And I was speechless, oh wait maybe he can see ghosts.

"So, you can see a ghost?" I added.

"What ghost? I didn't even know what a ghost is," he yelled.

"Hah?" I was curious, he didn't know what a ghost is? That was strange, at this age? He still didn't know? Really? Impossible! He's kidding around!

He breathed in and out in his mouth, and stared at me, he relaxed and talk to me in a nice way.

"Okay, I don't know how you came here inside, but please, leave this place," he said, well he can actually talk nicely. But I need him to guide me home. I want to see my father one last time before I go.

"I wanted to, but I need your he..."

He didn't listen to me, instead, he attempted to held my shoulders and let me out but he was shocked when he couldn't touch me.

His eyes widen in horror. And I can read his mind, he was confused, but, he was not afraid, I'm impressed!

"It's impossible!" I heard him whispered then he looked behind me, like he was searching for something, and then glanced at my eyes again, he was scanning my face and he was still in shock, stunned and not saying any words, I'm nervous, really nervous, his expression was puzzling me up what was in his mind.

"So, am I a ghost?" I asked and he shook his head as I let out those words.

"Ghost? There is no such word like that here," I was confused. "So, am I not dead?" I hurriedly asked him as he still scanning my face.

"Dead, I believe your not,"

"But it's true, your the only one who can see me and hear me which only proved that I'm a ghost, and only you can see me," I whimpered. And he was reading my mind, I know, and I think he didn't hear me.

"What?" He asked.

"Nothing, why did you say that I'm not dead?" I was confused.

"Well, it was because you just don't belong here," he softly said.

I don't belong here?

"What do you mean?" I asked and I've waited for him to answer me but a voice was ringing inside my ears.

"Cassy! Cassy! Cassy?" I opened my eyes and I saw my father looking worried in front of my gapes. I stood up immediately and asked him what happened, why was he looks worried? And he told me that I was oversleeping, and I'm too hot that I was sweating too much. I have a fever. And that moment made me think that I was just dreaming about that library.

I sighed in relief.

"Thank goodness it was only a dream," I whispered, but somehow I felt it was true, that I really met that man personally. But that doesn't make sense. It was really impossible! What a strange dream
