I hadn't celebrated my birthday for a long time, so when I saw the room filled with gift boxes and a two-tiered cake, my initial reaction wasn't joy; it was unfamiliarity.

Was today my birthday? I couldn’t remember if it was.

I felt bewildered and instinctively reached for my phone.

"What's wrong? Not happy?" Sean noticed my mood shift and his smile faded slightly.

I panicked and quickly approached him, forcing a radiant smile. "No, no, I just don’t know how to react because I was so surprised. Mr. Lawson, you're the first person to celebrate my birthday, and I'm really, really happy."

My own thoughts didn't matter; I couldn't dampen the mood of my benefactor. I was the star of this birthday celebration today, and Sean was the director. The actors should simply follow the script as directed.
