Chapter 7

I woke up in the hospital. When I woke up, I was still pondering if I was lucky enough to still be alive. I wondered if my luck really changed after all the suffering I had been through.

My eyes welled up, and the moment I saw Sean, I concluded that he must have saved my life.

However, I didn’t understand why Sean looked so haggard. I hadn't taken any documents, so was it possible that someone else had revealed his company's secrets, causing him to go bankrupt?

I wanted to ask about the situation because I still had some money with me. If Sean did indeed face bankruptcy, I feared he might demand his money back, in which case, it might have been preferable for me to have remained dead.

However, before I could speak, Sean had already leaned in, gently touching my cheek.
