I can't help but watch her from afar. I knew she would be hanging out with her friends, but unlike her friends, she hates shopping. So I knew they would be at the local outlet mall.
Which is another reason I picked this restaurant to talk to Axel, Aaron, and Beatrix about everything going on. Even after our make out session at The Point where we almost dry humped each other like 15 year olds on the table, I still couldn't think straight.
It frustrates me to no end. I run my hands through my hair as my elbows meet the hard metal table outside on the restaurant patio. They will be here in a minute and I need to get my anger under control before they sense it. I see the moppy heads of Axel and Aaron as a cute redhead comes running at me first. Beatrix is Axel's agapitos. Her nickname is Bea though. She hates her full name.
When they found each other they realized what they were and have never had the problems Stephanie and I do.
Her arms squeezed me as I hugged her back. She was like a baby sister to me and I would do anything for these 4 people.
"Bro." Axel said and greeted me. Aaron tilted his head up as he sat down at the table.
Silence fell over the table as we all sat down. My fingers fell together in my lap as I stared down.
"She still doesn't remember does she?" Bea asked me and I shook my head.
I wanted to scream to her about who we were, who we are, and what she means to me. But her not knowing who I am, quite frankly, scares me.
"We may need to call in for backup brother." Aaron pointed out. He was right but I didn't want to have to involve the council if I didn't have too.
The council was the group of people who were in charge of the ones who never really died like us. The ones who were immortal. I was born before Julius Cesar ruled throughout the land but I did fight in his wars. I helped take over land, homes, cities, and other kingdoms.
It's when I met her, in 54 BC. We were coming back to Greece after another battle when I saw her walking across a cobblestone road. It was like her heart had beckoned to me and I answered its call. I fell to my knees in front of her, ready to give her my world and everything I had.
The look on her face was of one of pure annoyance. She called me names and basically told me I was being an idiot for falling to my knees. Then immediately told me to meet her at the fountain in one of the town squares in the dead of night.
We spoke all night about what we were. About how the council sought us out and told us that our agapitos was out there for us to find. Once we found each other we never left each other sides.
We ran away from the war, from the people who were our supposed families, from everything. For over 400 years we only had each other. Until we ran into Axel, Aaron, and Bea. Bea and Stephanie were inseparable. But we only had 150 years with them before Stephanie died the first time.
I thought I had lost her. I mourned her until the day I saw her again. It was about 550 AD when she died when she was killed during what is now know as the Gothic War. I mourned her until I saw her in 650 AD. In Britain of all places. She was again walking down a cobblestone path. But I did the same thing. I dropped to my knees and wept.
I had her for a short time and then 100 years later it happened again. It has repeated itself over the course of history. No one had answers, but she has always remembered who I was. Who we are and were.
But not this time. This time I was utterly and truly alone.
I looked up just in time to see her pop out of another store that had some promiscuous clothing in the front window. Everyone at the table turned to see what I was staring at.
"She looks amazing." Bea said as we watched her laugh at something one of the other girls said.
"That she does." my body rumbles with each word that I speak. As if she could hear me her head snaps forward and her eyes meet mine. She looks happy and a huge smile shows up on her face.
Her friends gather around her and look over at our table, no doubt seeing what she is staring at.
I wordlessly get up from the table and slowly walk over to her. Her gaggle of friends back away as I head straight towards her. Without saying anything my hands directly go to her face as I collide my lips with hers.
"Deacon." She whispers when I break the kiss. I only smile in return.
My hands rub down her cheeks. She sighs into my hands as I leave another kiss to her forehead.
"You going to introduce us correctly this time?" One of the girls asks behind her.
She smiles up at me and turns to her friends. Her dark brown hair whirling around her at the fast motion. The sun had hit her just right and she looked like she had a halo placed perfectly on top of her head.
My chest warms at the sight of my beautiful girl. I cant wait till she remembers me, till she remembers us.
"Girls. This is Deacon. Deacon this Bridgette, Lilah, and Tiffany." She introduced me to her small group of friends.
One friend of hers, I think it was Bridgette, was staring back at the table I was at. "Who is that?" Her friend asked softly nodding over to the table.
"Aaron." I said gruffly. I glanced back at the table and saw Aaron staring at the same girl who asked about him. He broke the gaze by standing up and stalking off in to the opposite direction.
Confusion laced the faces of Axel and Bea, but they got up anyway and walked over to mr.
"Girls. I'll meet you at home." My girl said to her group.
They said goodbye quickly and I saw her attention turn to the two that had just walked up to us.
"Hi." Bea said smiling widely.
"Hi. I'm Stephanie." My girl stuck out her hand in a welcoming manner. But Bea had other ideas. She shoved her hand away and grabbed Stephanie in a tight hug.
"Oh ok." Stephanie said muffled through the hug that she was currently being strangled in.
"Sory about that. Shes a hugger." Axel started, "Her name is Bea and I'm Axel we are Deacons..."
"My family." I cut him off and Stephanie smiled up at me.
"Nice to meet you both but you guys look super familiar. Are you guys from around here?" Her face tilted to the side like she was seriously confused.
Bea smiled widely again and winked at me dramatically. Not knowing what was going on she probably just shrugged it off because her and Bea started talking about Tuesday.
About 5 minutes of chatter went by and I cam honestly not tell you what they were talking about when her hand interrupted me when she grabbed my arm.
I looked down at her and raised my eyebrow at her quizzically.
"Dinner at my house on Tuesday? I dont work on Wednesday so we can drink too." Her excited voice made me smirk. She looked even more beautiful when she was this happy.
I nodded in agreeable and then looked to Axel who voices his agreement.
As we walked away from Bea and Axel the girls were saying their goodbyes and promises of texting each other.
We walk slowly to the car. She talked the entire way. She made good on her promise of speaking enough for the both of us that night at the mexican restaurant where I saw her for the first time...again.
She spoke about what we would eat, grabbing some beer, maybe some wine, she would text Bea, getting through school the first two days, and then finally she said something that makes my ears perk up.
"Do you...uh...want to-to spend the night on Tuesday?" Her voice became so soft I almost didn't hear her. I sucked in my breath and stared at her for a long minute.
"If you don't want to you don't have to. It was just an idea...you can go home...I just didn't want you to drive home drunk..." her rambling was cut off by me slamming my lips on to hers. She moaned into my mouth which made me curl my fingers around her hips.
"I'm going to take that as a yes." She whispers when I finally break the kiss. Her lips swollen from the small make out session. But it only made me want her more.
Chloris stood to the side as she brought out a small book with leather binding. I tried to get a good look at it but was distracted by her dress. it almost looked like the greens and blues of her dress were moving slowly. She was the most odd looking person I had ever met. Her white fluffy hair was long and almost to her waist. She had quick hands and her eyes were full of kindness and concern. I looked over at Deacon who stood in the corner. He stared long and hard at what was going on before his eyes finally landed on me. I couldn't decipher the look in his eyes but I didn't like it. I wanted him smiling at me, not looking at me like he was going to lose me. I smiled softly at me as he quickly came to me and kissed my forehead."Come back to me." his words came out so soft I wasn't even sure if that's what he said. But I knew it was. I wasn't whole. I wasn't who he thought I should be. I should at least try. Maybe I will remember and be able to break this curse that was placed amo
It was early in the morning I remember and it was about mid 1850s. At that moment of the day that I can clearly remember we were laying naked in a pasture a few miles out of town. We had just made love for the first time in this era and we were breathing heavily next to each other. We were a scandal in our small part of the town. Her father had tried to force her to marry a man in town and she of course wanted nothing to do with it. The moment she fought the arranged marriage, is the moment she started to seek me out. She was leaving at all times of the night and searching through small towns that surrounded her. We found each other in a market of all places in one of those small towns. She was bartering a local baker about some bread and I walked up beside her. At first I didn't even realize who she was until she turned to look at me. My heart beat uncontrollably. I was enthralled with her beauty once again. Our eyes met and we were overcome with joy. We made sure to carefully plan o
I knew it was her. I knew it when I met her, in 54 BC. The rest of the soldiers I was in charge of were coming back to Greece after another battle. I saw her walking across a cobblestone road with a rather large brown vase in her hands. It was like her heart had beckoned to me and I answered its call. I fell to my knees in front of her, ready to give her my world and everything I had. To my dismay, the look on her face was of one of pure annoyance. She called me every name under the sun and basically told me I was being an idiot for falling to my knees. Then immediately told me to meet her at the fountain in one of the town squares in the dead of night. When I met her there under the bright moonlight her eyes glowed from the light shining down on her. Her hair long and clightly curly and it hung to the side. Her white gown draping over her body just perfectly. We spoke all night about what we were. To find out Agapitos was extremely rare and sometimes our Agapitos was not an immort
"You ready to talk yet?" she asked me and I nodded, grabbed her hand, and walked out the back door to the porch. The dogs were playing outside under the moonlight. Evangeline had left after the last phone call from the Council because now things needed to be put into action to try and fix whats wrong. But we needed some other people to help out to see if we could find out what was wrong with her. I could see her thoughts churning in her head as she came out back with me. I tried to pull her to me as we say on the porch but she sat in her own seat and sighed softly as our friends surrounded us. "Ok guys. I need answers. I don't want vague details and talk of thousands of years ago because I don't think I could stand another headache. I want answers on to what the hell is going on." she explained trying to remain calm but her voice was shaking at the end. "Did Deacon explain what an agapitos is?" Bridgette asked and she nodded her head looking at me. She had to feel the pull, other
Bridgette stands next to me in the kitchen as I try to breathe and count down. Trying to calm my nerves and not flip my shit in front of everyone in this house. There has to be a logical explanation for this woman in my house. I didn't want to be stuffed into a room with 6 people, the dogs, and then me. I needed to breathe for a second and not be around everything. I open the fridge to grab myself a beer and when I close the fridge door I scream loudly. The goddess lady from outside was standing right there. "Hello Stephanie." she said brightly. Fuck she even sounds like a goddess. "Hi." I said evenly and raised an eyebrow. "Oh! I'm so sorry my name is Evangeline." she said smiling. Her perfect teeth showed an honest smile. "Ok." I said wondering why she was coming to talk to me and why she couldn't just stay out there. I took a long swig of the beer in my hand knowing I would need another in about 2 minutes. Especially if she kept talking to me. "I am apart of the Council tha
After he left I felt sort of numb from the lack of his presence. I wanted to bask in his presence at every chance I get. Not to sit on the sidelines, and wait for him to notice that I'm not happy that he left me here. I should have said something and just gone with him. Now I sound crazy, I barely know this man and I feel like I would go to the ends of the Earth and back for him. I feel insane that I have already told him I loved him, I'm taking care of his dog, and I even spent the weekend with him. Isn't this going too fast? Am I overthinking it? Probably, but its what I do. I am constantly overthinking everything. I'm actually driving myself insane by just sitting here and thinking about when he will be coming back. I have heated up my coffee 3 times in an effort to try and finish my first cup of the morning. Hell, Its already noon but I didn't sleep last night. Deacon said its probably for only a day but a huge storm rolled in to New York as soon as they left. But something a
