Peter PoV

"Why is your face so angry, Peter?" Lizzy asked in a weak voice.

After being poisoned by salad dressing containing peanuts at my house due to Leora's actions, Lizzy had to be hospitalized.

The doctor who treated her said that Lizzy was lucky enough to be saved. Allergies like Lizzy's can have fatal consequences if not treated immediately.

Moreover, currently Lizzy is also pregnant and her pregnancy is still relatively young, if treated too late, she might miscarry.

"Leora has signed our divorce papers," I said wearily.

I feel uninspired. It's like something is missing from inside me. I felt it from the moment Leora left the restaurant.

Lizzy's beautifully drawn eyebrows rose. She reached out her hand and grasped it tightly.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Peter," said Lizzy in a voice shaking from crying. "I'm sorry that I was the cause of your divorce."

I turned my head and looked at the woman I had loved for a long time. Her beautiful face was covered in tears and she looked very sad.

I reached out and hugged her gently. "Hey, don't cry, darling. The problems between Leora and I have been hidden for a long time and maybe this divorce is the best way for us."

But that's a lie. I felt like I had lost the woman who had filled my life for almost four years.

We met by chance at a charity event and Leora's beauty and gentle demeanor immediately made me fall in love with her.

I still can't forget Lizzy since she was gone, but when I was with Leora, I felt happy and didn't remember Lizzy at all.

I proposed to her for marriage after eight months of dating, even though my mother did not approve of my marriage to Leora.

According to my mother, a woman who grew up in an orphanage, had unknown origins, and was poor, would only bring bad luck to our family.

However, I completely ignored my mother's objections and still married Leora.

Our marriage is happy and I feel that since being with Leora everything I do has become easy. She is very diligent and carries out her role as a wife perfectly.

My career at the company began to climb slowly but surely, until finally I was appointed deputy director of marketing because of my brilliant achievements and some gossip circulating in the office said that my position would soon be promoted again to the director's chair.

However, Leora is not yet pregnant. I want a child and so does my mother want a grandchild. It was my only source of debate with Leora whenever we argued. I suspect she is sterile, because my own family has been proven to be fertile.

After buying a bigger house, I invited my mother and sister to live together so they could accompany Leora while I worked.

However, Leora's gentle nature started to turn annoying since the presence of my mother and sister. She treated them arbitrarily, often got into fights with them, and was impolite. I don't know how many times my mother complained while crying because of Leora's rude and careless attitude.

Leora changed and at that time, Lizzy returned from Canada. Her arrival made me realize that I still always loved her, as did Lizzy to me. We only separated due to circumstances.

She divorced her husband after only eight months of marriage and decided to pursue a career as a model. Lizzy's beauty, beautiful body and outgoing attitude made her easily accepted in various work environments and soon her name as a model skyrocketed in the fashion world. I'm proud of her.

We fell in love again and I started spending more time with Lizzy. It was like a honeymoon for us and my excitement was beyond compare when Lizzy said she was pregnant.

I had intended to tell Leora about Lizzy's pregnancy and intended to divorce her, even though Lizzy insisted that I didn't need to marry her. She was very happy to be with me again, and didn't care if she could only be my mistress because I was still married to Leora.

Lizzy's attitude, which was full of love and trust towards me, was in contrast to Leora's, who became increasingly annoying.

I've discussed with my team of lawyers about divorcing Leora, just waiting for the right time and reason. I have also prepared quite a large divorce allowance for Leora. After all, she and I had a beautiful marriage, so there was no way I would let her suffer after divorcing me.

I never thought that this opportunity would come so quickly, even though Lizzy had to be the victim.

One thing that surprised me was when Leora asked for a divorce. I should be the one saying that, not her. My self-esteem was a little pinched because of the challenge. Even when I threatened not to give her anything, she didn't care and stubbornly left my house.

"Peter, don't be sad," Lizzy said softly. "I will make your life better, together with our child."

I looked at Lizzy's still flat stomach and my feelings gradually improved. I squeezed Lizzy's hand gently.

"After all my work matters at the branch office in North Riviera are finished, let's get married," I said happily. "I can't wait to cradle my flesh and blood with my hands."

Lizzy hugged me tightly. I feel like the luckiest man now, despite my recent divorce.

Lizzy was allowed to go home from the hospital after one weeks of treatment. The doctor advised her to take bed rest to fully recover, because her womb was quite weak.

I brought Lizzy to live at my house. My mother and sister swiftly prepared a new bed in my room.

"I don't want to make Lizzy feel uncomfortable, sleeping in the same bed your ex-wife slept in," my mother said gently.

I hugged her, feeling lucky that my mother was so caring.

"I'm sorry for not listening to your warning not to marry Leora, Mom," I said, kissing her forehead. "Now it is proven that she is not a good woman."

Mother hugged me and patted my back gently. "I'm glad you've separated from her, son. I can't stand being under pressure from her, and neither does your sister. She really hates us and always tries to throw us out of your house."

Feelings of guilt towards my mother and sister made me hate Leora even more. Luckily it's all over now.

Suddenly there was a loud sound of applause.  My mother and I turned together.

Leora stood in the doorway with a very different appearance.  Her hand was linked to the arm of a very handsome, tall, and masculine man.

"Well, hello, my ex-husband and ex-in-laws," said Leora with a sweet smile on her lips.  "I'm sorry if I disturbed this emotional atmosphere, but I came because there are some of my belongings that are still left in this house. I will take them now."

My mother and I exchanged glances.  We were both stunned.

Then, Lizzy's voice awakened my astonishment.

"Mr. Jayden? Why are you here?"

Frank Lawson's face turned bright red, after he heard what Harold said throughout his conversation with me. "That bastard, he thought he could make my sister his money machine," Frank cursed while clenching his fists. "Did you know, that the York family is in huge debt because the future head of the family is addicted to gambling?" "Really?" I asked in surprise. "I didn't think it was that bad. How did you know?" "I didn't like Harold, since the first time my sister brought him home. But he's a sweet-talker and his behavior is perfect, in front of my family. I hired a private investigator to investigate him and just got the results two days ago," Frank said with a gloomy face. "But, he just won a bet on a stallion named Harry Potter?" I said. "And his winnings were quite big." "Yes," Frank said. "He immediately deposited the money to the loan shark who lent him the money a few months ago, because the loan shark had started calling his mother and younger siblings to collect the m

"No wonder you are so easy to throw away millions of money, it turns out you are the famous Mr. Evran Jeremiah," said Harold. I actually felt uncomfortable with the compliments he threw, but forced a smile for the sake of achieving my goal. I added more wine to his glass. He turned out to be a low-tolerance drinker, but he was high on style. Only three glasses in and he was already looking like a wreck. I stared at my favorite bottle of wine with satisfaction. It had been worth the long wait to open it."It's nothing," I said. "You will marry Emily?" I asked while pointing at Emily with my chin. "A very good choice. She is very beautiful and charming." Harold looked at Emily who was talking to another woman not far from our table. He is chuckled. "Actually, it was my mother's choice," said Harold half whispering. "I hope this time she can give me a son, unlike my previous wife." "Oh, have you been married before?" I asked."Yes. She is a beautiful woman, but she is poor. At firs

"Uncle Eva!" The little girl's scream behind me made me turn around spontaneously. Soraya ran towards me while waving something in her hand. I caught her little body and carried her easily. She was so small and light. "Hi, what's that in your hand?" I asked while poking the tip of her sharp nose. "It's a potato," Soraya said while opening her fist. "Look. Uncle Lindon said that this potato was scattered from its mother. It was impatient and climbed up, so in the end it couldn't grow properly." "Oh, poor thing. It must be because she was naughty, that's why she became like this, right?" I said pretending to be sad. "Yes. But, I'm not naughty. I obey everything my mother says, so I can stay healthy and grow big," Soraya said seriously. "Good," I praised her while massaging the tip of her nose gently. "A good child will always obey her mother. Oh yeah, do you want to go with uncle to my garage this afternoon?" "What's going on at your garage?" Soraya asked with shining eyes. "

Lenore wouldn't let me take her home and I respected her wishes. I told my driver to take her home and only asked her to let Elena know when she got home. "Why didn't you take her home?" Elena asked, when Lenore had already texted her that she had arrived home. "I thought you took them to a theme park?" "Yes. She didn't want me to take her home," I said. "I didn't want to force her. I was worried she wouldn't feel comfortable, because there was never anything between us since long ago, right?" "You said you liked her," Elena said confused. "Yes, I do. I not only like her, but I also love her. But, I shouldn't force her to have the same feelings as me. If she doesn't feel comfortable with what I feel for her, I'd better stay away." Elena sighed. "I'm worried about her. She's carrying all her problems and suffering by herself. Even her parents don't know anything. They think Lenore is fine." "She said that her ex-in-law and her sister-in-law are still after her. Why? Isn't she div

Lenore stared into the distance in front of her, not knowing what was on her mind right now. "If it's hard for you to tell me, then you don't have to," I said in the softest tone possible. I didn't want to burden Lenore. After all, her story was hers. I was no one to force her to tell it and make her uncomfortable. "Uh, I... I'll tell you," Lenore said. "The gist of it, at least." I nodded, feeling sure that she would see my head move even though she wasn't looking at me. "After graduating from high school, I received a scholarship to Yale, but my parents went bankrupt and my grandfather was seriously ill, so my mother had to borrow money from a loan shark to pay for the hospital bills," Lenore said. "I forgot about Yale and worked in a textile factory, but that didn't last long. The son of the factory owner was interested in me and he was willing to pay all my family's debts if I would become his wife." The beginning of the story alone made me upset. She had a friend as rich a

"E-evran... Th-this room, uh... Too luxurious," Lenore said in a squeaky voice like she was scared. "It must be very expensive. I d-don't deserve to be here...." I glared at her. "Who said that? Why are you degrading yourself? You and Soraya, you deserve to be here. Or... Do you want another room? Larger? More spacious? Come on, then! There's a presidential suite on the top floor. Come on, let's move there." I prepared to lift Soraya's body who was already lying on the bed, sleeping soundly. She must be exhausted. After taking them away from the reception, I took them to an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Soraya ate a lot and really enjoyed everything I offered, while Lenore looked anxious, until I forced her to eat too. After leaving the restaurant, I took them to one of my mother's department stores and told one of the staff to get whatever Soraya pointed at. Meanwhile, Lenore was busy preventing her daughter, until I held her hand and took her to the women's clothing boutique sect
