Scarlett's POV

"Kathleen told me everything that happened."

His voice erupted suddenly—low and wild, like thunder rolling across the sky, making my eardrums buzz. I felt the floor give way beneath my feet, a wave of dizziness almost knocking me off balance. Even after all these years, he could still shake the ground beneath me with such ease.

"Little wolf, do you need my help?" Lucien's voice rumbled, sharp as claws gliding softly over skin. I shivered from head to toe.

My throat went dry, the air felt sucked out of the room. I nodded instinctively, then remembered he couldn't see me through the phone.

"Yes..." I cleared my throat, forcing my voice to steady. "I need your help, Alpha Lucien."

There was silence on the other end—three full seconds, long enough to choke me. I could almost picture him: those silver eyes gleaming dangerously, the lazy yet lethal smirk on his lips, waiting for me to crumble further.

"Heh," he suddenly chuckled, his voice like flames licking old parchment. "You're bold, little wolf. You're the first ever to ask me for help."

My heart skipped a beat.

"So, have you thought about how you'll repay me?" he asked slowly, deliberately, as if luring prey into a trap.

I bit my lip, hesitated, then whispered, "What do you want?"

"A lot." His low laugh hinted at layered meanings. "But not now."

Fury sparked in my eyes, and I snapped, "I won't be your whore! If this is just a game to you, then you never should've called!"

The line went dead silent. I could hear his breathing—slow, deep, like a beast prowling in the night.

"Ah," he finally murmured, his voice brushing against my ear like the night wind. "So the little wolf has grown claws now... I like that."

There was something feral in his tone—an untamed hunger, like a predator slowly closing in.

My heartbeat surged. Memories flooded back. Seven years ago, I was a meek little girl. Every time Lucien appeared, my wolf would cower.

But not anymore.

I straightened my back, keeping my voice as calm as I could. "A lot has changed, Alpha Lucien. I need real help, not a joke. If you can't take this seriously, maybe Kathleen misjudged you."

He didn't respond right away. The silence was crushing, as if he was examining my soul through the phone.

Then came a cold chuckle. "Changed your strategy, did you? First rage, then provocation?"

I held my breath, my knuckles white from gripping the phone.

"I don't intend to help someone still stuck in the past, torn by hesitation." His voice grew colder, tinged with impatience. "This call is over. If you're sure you're ready to fight back, then we'll talk again."

The line cut. I stood frozen, phone in hand, heart pounding.

Lucien's arrogant tone echoed in my mind. I threw the phone away.

How could I ever put hope in a male alpha, even if he was my best friend's brother?

Hope shattered again. I had screwed it up again.

I rushed downstairs. I needed air. But Alexander had forbidden me from leaving.

Ruby appeared at the door, eyes glowing with excitement. "Luna Scarlett, you can go outside!"

I blinked, stunned. "What?"

"Alpha Alexander just issued the order himself. You're no longer restricted!" she beamed, like she'd just delivered the best news in the world.

I nodded slowly, emotions swirling inside.

What the hell was he playing at now? Just letting me go, just like that?

Ruby saw the doubt on my face. She stepped forward and hugged me tightly. "Alpha must've realized his mistake! He knows you're better than Faye. Everyone sees it. Only you can help the New Moon Pack, Luna Scarlett!"

Maybe she was right. But I wouldn't let my guard down.

Then my phone buzzed.

A text from Faye.

"You really should thank me. I convinced Alexander to release you. I showed the pack I'm a forgiving Luna, even after your jealousy nearly killed my child."

Rage flared hot and fast.

Of course it was that bitch meddling behind the scenes. How could I even consider Alexander acted out of decency?

I clenched my fists.

I needed to hit something. Hard. I needed to get this fury out before it consumed me.

I stormed into the training field; at least I had my freedom back. What better way to use it than to vent some of this fury? I'd rather roughhouse with a few warriors than let Faye drive me insane.

The sun blazed. Warriors shouted and wrestled in the dirt.

I scanned the area. Coby was there, sparring with a few others.

The field was split. My original team on one side. Alexander's team on the other. His group looked newer, more polished. Their gear shinier.

I wondered what he was scheming this time, dividing our warriors like that.

Then I noticed a brand-new archery setup off to the side—completely unused. Alexander had probably ordered them not to touch it.

A wicked idea sparked in my mind:

Why not tug the lion's tail a little?

I grabbed one of the machines and dragged it to my side—my wolves' side.

Whispers and sharp breaths followed me. I didn't care.

A tall warrior stepped forward. Muscular. Proud. Wearing the same insignia as Alexander.

"This breaks the rules," he said, arms crossed. Normally, without Faye around, he'd never dare talk to me like this. I didn't blame him.

I arched a brow. "Then stop me."

A sly grin curled on his lips. "You're too fragile. Don't make me hurt you."

I smiled sweetly. "Oh, darling. You're not ready for the embarrassment I'm about to deliver."

Laughter echoed. A crowd began to gather.

"You wanna fight?" he taunted.

I squared my stance, eyes locked on his.

"No. I want to teach your ego a lesson."

He chuckled. "Ladies first."

I didn't smile. I reached out and grabbed a spare sword from the nearest warrior, pointing it straight at him.

KathleenA week had already passed ever since the small events that I did towards the woman named Lucia who tried to slap me but I counterattacked her that time and I’ve been here in this Ironfang Pack for a week now. After that event and after Draco had told everyone that I was his Luna and that those who would disrespect me were the same as disrespecting him, their attitude had all changed three hundred sixy degree. They all treated me with respect and politeness. If it was before, they would look at me with their unfiltered gazes, looking at me up and down, measuring if I am worthy to be with their Alpha, now it was different. They would think twice if they would look at me, would talk to me, and would even approach me with respect and politeness now.As expected, power and authority are still above all things that could make one bow their head and tuck their tails.Though, I don’t really care if they see me as seductress, a witch who bewitched their Alpha and won’t accept me as th

  • Get Back The Abandoned Luna   Chapter 160 Side Story 8: Troubles

KathleenAfter the small events with Draco earlier, I strolled down the Ironfang territory. At first, Draco wanted to go with me, but I was the one who insisted that I wanted to go alone. Although he was reluctant, since his beta had already called him to finish and review some documents he needed to see and sign as the Alpha of the Ironfang, he left with no other choice but to let me be and let me roam around.I just got out of his earful instructions saying that I shouldn’t go with anyone even if they asked me to drink with them.Tsk. What does he see me as for?Although I love to drink alcohols, I still have limitations and won’t be foolish enough to go with any people or men who would ask me out.Well… he was the exemption.I took a deep breath, strolling around and watching how the pack members here are busy with chitchats, some were running around, some were diligent in their training, while some of them were just sitting down with nothing else to do.I let the cool breeze brush

KathleenI wasn’t sure what in the Moon Goddess I was thinking for accepting the so-called one-month trial as his Luna to see if we would work out and if not, he would stop bugging me and let me go.Of course, I was tempted by his suggestion. After all, this is just a trial card and if it would work out between the two for us, then it would be great, but if not, I’ll be free to leave, and he won’t bug me nor my brother to ask for my hand in marriage again. However, what I am worried about is that I would have to spend my whole month—my vacation that was given by Scarlett and Lucien for me to relax—instead, I would use it to stay here in the Ironfang territory. After all, if I would go back to the Nightshade Pack after what we have agreed regarding about the trial card for one month while he would stay here in his own pack too, it would be nothing.Long distance relationships don’t work here. Now, I am staying in a luxurious guest house—a house that Draco had newly built for the two of

  • Get Back The Abandoned Luna   Chapter 158 Side Story 6: Crumbled Walls

KathleenHalf a month had already passed—as well as the war between the Crescent Moon and the Nightshade Pack. Now, we were cleaning and rebuilding the structures of our pack right after it got destroyed by the war back then and plus, Scarlett and Lucien were back right after Scarlett got kidnapped during their sacred mated bonds.I sighed heavily. I don’t know what they have done in their past lives to encounter such troubles in this lifetime that almost every day they couldn’t rest nor got time to take a breath since there would be another trouble who would seek them again. However, it was a good thing that the person who kidnapped Scarlett back then wasn’t an enemy—but rather her grandmother otherwise, for sure another war and chaos would resurface again.“Thinking about Alpha Draco?” I heard Scarlett’s voice full of teasing as she sat in front of me.I flipped the documents that I needed to review—since I took this role after I knew that Scarlett was pregnant, and I wanted her to

KathleenTwo days had already passed ever since I had made those foolish mistakes—getting drunk and offering my virginity to a stranger whom I couldn’t even see its face, nor I know him. All I could remember was his touch that still lingers all over my body and his voice that whispers softly on my ears—ahh, stop it, Kathleen!Stop thinking about that man! Erase, erase, erase!I took a deep breath and waited for Scarlett and Lucien to come. I had already told Scarlett about what foolish decision I have made ever in my life. It was a good thing that I told her about it since she helped me get a birth control from our physician under her name.I was grateful at that—and since I was afraid that I would really get pregnant after that one mistake, one night where… well, he had spilled a lot of his semen inside of me but still I cleaned myself up in the morning right after… but I’m still paranoid. What if I’ll get pregnant? That’s why I had gulped down four pills at once just to make sure.A

Side CoupleKathleenI don’t know anymore. All I know is that I want this temptation—this pleasure.I kissed him first—I thought he would refuse it since he didn’t respond. Just when I was about to pull away when I felt his hand grasp the back of my head, pulling me to her as he had responded to my kisses before I could succeed in pulling away. His kiss was soft at first, and it had already made my breath hitched and I could feel my dopamine rising—my pheromones rising. He then pressed me back gently until my legs struck the bed before I could even notice as we kept on eating each other’s faces with the same ferocity as if we were a hungry beast that had been starving for a long time as I fell onto the mattress. The sheets rustled beneath us, the candlelight that serves as our light had painted the room into a warm undertone—but we couldn’t be careless about it. All we could think was how to extinguish the heat in our body.My fingers gently traced the outline of his face as we kept o
