A knock sounded at the bedroom door a short while after Mom left."Come in," I said weakly, hoping that whoever was doing the knocking could hear me through two doors. My heart skipped a beat when I entered Kira's bedroom and didn't find her anywhere. The sheets on the bed were tossed aside, and the room felt uncomfortably warm even though the windows were thrown open.It was also empty. Where was Kira?
