This girl, really! Why is she saying that to Mitch?

"What are you talking about, Tiffany?" Mitch scratched the back of his head. "Does it look like that to you?" 

Instead of interrupting them, I stood behind the tree near the storage room and listened to their conversations while peeking. 

I saw how Tiffany nodded with a bright smile on her face. "Yes. It's annoying." She said those words with such a smile. How could she? 

Mitch was silent and couldn't say anything back. How would he even suppose to reply to what Tiffany said? It's not his problem that Tiffany finds him annoying. More like, she's the annoying one here. Why
