Chapter 8

Freya POV

Jasper left, and his words, "I only love you," echoed in my heart.

He was a man of his word, though he was rarely given to sweet talk. Over five years, he had said "I love you" a handful of times at most.

I touched my pregnant belly and asked my pup.

"Sweetheart, are you willing to forgive your father?"

My pup rolled around inside me, but I couldn't understand his answer.

Hours later, Jasper’s assistant sent me a message:

[All negative information has been handled. Please rest easy, Madam.]

Attached was a link.

I clicked it open and watched Halle on screen, her eyes brimming with tears.

"For fame and personal gain, I shamelessly used my friendship with Jasper to create a scandal. I have caused severe harm to both Jasper and his wife, and for that, I offer my sincerest apology..."
