Garrett looked over at Jade, she stared out the window. Her hands made fists, and her body told him she was scared. He took a breath and brought his attention back to the road. Jade thought about what she had just witnessed, her life as a mortal made it hard to be close to her family even though they have been trying to make things work. She thought about running away from Garrett and Dani just to keep them safe, but she knew they wouldn’t stop looking for her until they found her. A little while later, Dani walked in with some Wendys. She walked over to Jade and gently touched her. Jade opened her eyes and smiled at Dani. “Hey, I hope you don’t mind Wendy's.
