Garrett found the family sitting in the living room. He sat down on the couch. “So I’m kind of worried about Jade.” He said clearing his throat, everyone looked at him. “The scratch is gone, but now there is a symbol there.” He said looking at Jayde.
“What!” he growled. Jumping up, he rushed to where Jade was sleeping, Garrett was right, there was a symbol there. He didn’t know what he meant, he knew the Prophecy was going to happen whether they wanted it to or not. He started to worry. He walked back downstairs. “We’re going to have to take her to the Druid, Garrett’s right there is a symbol there. Not sure what it means, but it cannot be good.” He said lighting a cigarette. No one said anything, Jayden thought about Alexandria, they could use her right now. Gage made sure she was out ofThe front door opened; Jade opened her eyes. It was Dani, she had a bag of something in her hand. “Jade want to help me in the kitchen for a moment?” She asked. “Sure.” Jade got up and followed Dani into the kitchen, Dani set the bags down on the counter. “Sorry I could feel the tension in there, that’s why I asked you to help me,” Dani said. “Thanks, yeah I feel like dad is hiding something from me. I'm scared.” Jade said. “Eh when he's ready to share he will d
Garrett looked over at Jade, she stared out the window. Her hands made fists, and her body told him she was scared. He took a breath and brought his attention back to the road. Jade thought about what she had just witnessed, her life as a mortal made it hard to be close to her family even though they have been trying to make things work. She thought about running away from Garrett and Dani just to keep them safe, but she knew they wouldn’t stop looking for her until they found her. Jade watched the cars pass as they drove away from the town, she didn’t want to leave but they would stop at nothing to kill everyone that meant something to her or that would protect her. She thought about her mom the night the accident happened, she could have told her she loves her but she chose to fight her mother at her new school and the guys she'd been chasin
A little while later, Dani walked in with some Wendys. She walked over to Jade and gently touched her. Jade opened her eyes and smiled at Dani. “Hey, I hope you don’t mind Wendy's. I got you some.” She smiled. “No not at all, thanks!” Jade said. Jade sat up and took the bag and soda from Dani. She forced the straw into the cup and sucked the soda out. She opened the bag and placed the fries on the bed and hamburger in her lap. Garrett watched her and decided he needed to find something to feed on. He looked at Dani and decided to go out for a bit. Maybe a dog or something nearby it was getting close to dark and they would have to move. Jade bit into the sandwich, it tasted so good. Dani turned on
Jade moved over to her bed and packed her bag; she ran to the bathroom to get her brush and other materials. “Okay, I'm ready.” She spoke. Dani and Garrett got to their feet, Dani went to the office to pay for the room and to give them the keys. Garrett and Jade walked to the car they got in and waited for Dani. Dani slowly walked over to the car and got in. “All done let’s go.” She spoke. Garrett started the car, and moved into the street, and headed West. Jade looked out the window, she wanted to talk to her dad but knew it would just make her miss him more. She felt like she'd just got something back into her life to have i
The man stopped in front of Garrett and smiled. Jade looked up; his eyes met hers. He had light brown hair and green eyes, his smile mouthwatering. “Hello, I am Maximus, Max for short,” Max said. Jade smiled and then looked over at Garrett. “This is Jade she is a little shy.” He laughed. “Ah Jade, you smell nice. It’s nice to meet you.” Max said. Jade just smiled. Max extended his hand to shake hers. Her hand trembled but made it into his hands. He gently closed his hand and shook it and then released it. Garrett cleared his throat; Max brought his attention to him. “We sho
She peeked up and smiled. A pair of beautiful blues eyes stared at her. “Yes, I think I am. Is it okay if I make something to eat?” She asked. “Here let me make you something, what will you have?” He asked. “Oh, I don’t care, as long as you don’t offer me blood.” She smiled He smiled back and went into a cabinet. “You seem a bit skinny, maybe I will make a feast for you.” He suggested. “Oh, I don’t eat a lot, but I will take whatever you give me. My stomach has been growling all day.” He let out a ch
Jade turned around; Max stood there with Garrett. Selena moved back a little and took a bow. “I just want to show her she is not to fear the vampires in the town.” She begged. “You do not need to scare her any more than she already is. When she is ready to accept that we will not hurt her she will go out on her own.” Max growled. Garrett moved quickly to Jade's side, she smiled as he put his arm around her waist. “Jade are you ready to go and see all the bloodsuckers outside?” Max said. “Umm won't they bite me?” She asked. “No, but since you still fear that I ask that you s
Morning fog settled over the mountains, Garrett and Dani headed back to the castle. Garrett smelled the air before speaking. “Something isn't right!” He demanded. “What, what is wrong?” Dani said shaking her head, she didn’t feel any different. “I smell something wrong, let’s get back.” The two of them ran as fast as they could to the castle. The castle laid quiet; Garrett stayed on guard. “Well, there isn't anything here.” She commented. Garrett looked around, still having the smell tickle his nose, he slowly moved towards the door.
