The front door opened; Jade opened her eyes. It was Dani, she had a bag of something in her hand.
“Jade want to help me in the kitchen for a moment?” She asked.
“Sure.”
Jade got up and followed Dani into the kitchen, Dani set the bags down on the counter.
“Sorry I could feel the tension in there, that’s why I asked you to help me,” Dani said.

Garrett looked over at Jade, she stared out the window. Her hands made fists, and her body told him she was scared. He took a breath and brought his attention back to the road. Jade thought about what she had just witnessed, her life as a mortal made it hard to be close to her family even though they have been trying to make things work. She thought about running away from Garrett and Dani just to keep them safe, but she knew they wouldn’t stop looking for her until they found her. A little while later, Dani walked in with some Wendys. She walked over to Jade and gently touched her. Jade opened her eyes and smiled at Dani. “Hey, I hope you don’t mind Wendy's. I got you some.” She smiled. “No not at all, thanks!” Jade said. Jade sat up and took the bag and soda from Dani. She forced the straw into the cup and sucked the soda out. Morning fog settled over the mountains, Garrett and Dani headed back to the castle. Garrett smelled the air before speaking. “Something isn't right!” He demanded. “What, what is wrong?” Dani said shaking her head, she didn’t feel any different. “I smell something wrong, let’s get back.” The two of them ran as fast as they could to the castle.
