Chapter 8
Jade got up, put her dishes in the sink, and then bolted out the door. She decided to walk to the town hall to tell Darla to get Talon and his family to back off. She arrived at the office; she was greeted by the secretary.
“Can I help you?”
“I need to speak with Darla Hewsen,” Jade said looking at her. “She might still be in a meeting so I can wait.”
“Sorry, she is in a meeting right now.” She said shaking her head. “She is going to be a while.”
“Tell her, her niece is here to see her,” Jade said hoping it would get Darla to come out and talk to her.
