Chapter R13

"Well it looks like you're failing that promise." Martha's words played in my head again. In a strange way, her words kept taunting me. It made me remember that day again. The promise I made. Indeed, she was right. Perhaps if I had intervened earlier, things wouldn't turn out bad like this. Now the Vampire world is in turmoil and Green was nowhere to be found. I heaved a light sigh, dearly hoping both Green and her child were safe.

The twin doors finally opened after so many hours. Only to find Martha and Lilith saunter into the room with horrified gazes.

"We know our enemy." Martha mumbled as she wobbled towards the bar while Lilith returned to her couch mindlessly.

I gulped down my saliva, glancing between the two of them at intervals.

"Zeus is our enemy." Martha mumbled before downing her whiskey recklessly.

"What?!" I exclaimed, but the others had their jaws dropped, their eyes twitching in fear already.
