My eyes drill into the back of Tilk's head as Nole claps Burk on the back.

It's Burk's turn to go out onto the grass to prove to his female he is worthy and I know he will win. Moor is a good fighter, but he isn't good enough and he knows it. The way he has been eyeballing my Commander proves it. He is melancholy already and he hasn't even fought.

Burk leaves and Nole glances down at me before smirking.

"He won't surrender because you are staring holes into his back," Nole says quietly and I barely look at him before refocusing on my target.

I am analyzing every move he makes. Xiu is depending on me and I will prove I'm worthy of it. Nole's ribbing won't shake me.

"I'm moving up so I can see the match. You coming," he asks and I shake my head.

"Burk won't break a sweat," I say quietly and Nole chuckles before moving to stand just behind Tilk.

He watches the match for only a moment before commenting.

"Burk's out for blood," he says and I smirk.

I knew it. Burk would never insul

    "Send two. It will give us a few extra seconds," I say as Burk begins to set the coordinates. He nods to show he heard me and Nole continues to pace back and forth behind us. Sending the scanners ahead of us is a good idea. It eliminates the threat of ambush and gives us a read on our enemy and Krystal's whereabouts. Plus we can cloak our transport. They will only see the scanners on their machines. "Garlof should be ready," Burk growls under his breath and I am reminded how screwed up this day has become. We should each be happy and showing our mates a good first day on our planets, but instead, we are here dealing with this. Leaving Xiu behind with my parents was hard. I wanted to spend our first day together bonding, but I couldn't abandon Burk. He deserves my loyalty and help. I know if the situation was reversed he would be aiding me.     "Are you ready," Modok says as he looks down at me and I nod. I clutch the fancy basket of fruit a little tighter and Modok presses a button beside the front door. But when the door slides open there isn't anyone to greet us. The entryway is empty. "That's weird. They should be expecting us," Modok says as he steps in front of me. He steps inside the home and listens for a second before turning to look at me. "Stay behind me. I do not believe there is danger, but just in case," Modok says, and I nod. I follow him inside and he leads me down a spacious hallway. When we reach a large open room, he sighs, and I look past him to find three Gaimo people watching a projection screen.
