Chapter 21

Time seemed to speed up over the next couple of months. After dreaming of Arric, my tension around him eased. I was still cautious, but not nearly as bad as I had been. Every night I dreamt of a memory I had shared with Arric.

I had been filled with warmth and love. I felt that part of the reason I had been so on edge around him, was probably some form of guilt. It helped that as time went on, I didn’t feel like Arric was here to harm me.

He wasn’t the same as he had been in my memories, but I suspected that it was because he had changed over the years. I wished that my memories consisted of Cyran, but they were all focused on Arric. The only time I could remember anything about Cyran was if I saw it after being hypnotized.

The difference between when I was being hypnotized and dreaming, was the point of view. During my dreams, it was from a first-person point of view, where I could feel everything and feel completely connected. Unlike when I was being hypnotized, it was from a
