Chapter 22

Azura-

This had to be the longest winter in history. I thought that I could keep myself busy, but there wasn’t much to do. I tried to write, but when I tried to work on the story, I was hit was severe writer’s block. I kept thinking about Cyran and hoping he was safe.

“Has he checked in yet?” I asked Kellan for probably the hundredth time.

“Not yet.” Kellan didn’t even look up from his computer as he answered.

Although I have asked him every day for the past few months, he hasn’t seemed annoyed by it. Even Jade did not seem bothered by it because I have asked her just as many times. Leaning back in my chair at the table, I looked out the back door.

We had just finished eating lunch and just hanging out like we normally did. Things at home have become natural to the point I felt as if it were my home. The only difference was that Cyran wasn’t here.

I didn’t have any expectations for him when he did return, but I hoped that I could find a way to connect with him. At the very least I hop
