Alodia finally stopped the video from his own cellphone camera and she sent the pictures and video to all his contacts that were on his phonebook. She smiled with triumph afterward.
The phone’s alert message tone beeped.
“Hon, someone’s just sent me a text,” Emerson said while his eyes were still closed.
She turned off the message alert tone, so that he wouldn’t get distracted or even get curious why the messages continuously flooded his inbox. She stepped in the direction of the bathroom and from there, she answered sweetly. “You check the text later, hon! I’ll be out in a few moments and I’ll take you to heaven! Okay?” She turned on the shower as if she was taking it.
She then read the text messages as a reply to the pictures and video that she sent to all his contacts.
Dude! What happened to you? Why did you send me your scandalous pics and vid? I’ll post these on my social media! Haha! said the one who was named Carlos.
Jerk! Are you nuts? Who’s the girl? A Sharon said.
You dirty bastard! I’ll get you for this, Emerson! A Teresa threatened.
She smiled at the text messages. Then, she wiped away her finger prints from the phone and everything she had touched in the condo unit. Afterward, she looked behind her while the man was still waiting for her patiently. There was a victorious smile pasted on her beautiful lips as she left the condo unit with the door banged. She heard him cry, calling her by sister’s name.
She gritted her teeth. From now on, she was going to play with men as her lamentation and grief for the death of her sister. By that, the male species would think that not every woman would fall for their charms and that not all women would fall in love with them blindly that they forgot their dignity and self-esteem. Just like her sister.
But certainly not her. And now, she was on a mission to make men cry.
There had been many men who wanted to date her while she still stayed in the Philippines. She met them either in the mall or some restaurants where she met some old friends. Of course, she didn’t bring these men to her family’s house. Instead, she just met them somewhere in public until she decided it was time to humiliate them.
In just a short time, she let them all believe that she had fallen for them. Like what she did to Emerson, she did to all of them. Most of them did not stay in the country anymore because of the shame that befell on themselves and to their family. However, no one was after her to sue her or report her to the authorities to avoid more shame. Besides, she brought her twin sister’s name. The poor men had no idea she was the twin. As for a few who wanted to get back at her through the authorities, they would “realize” later on that they were being played by a girl who was already dead. It was curious. But since they were afraid to be sent to a mental institution instead, they just let the case get closed. Even the police found this situation hilarious and didn’t want to investigate more, for reasons that there were other priorities than suing or getting back at a dead girl.
Alodia couldn’t help but have her fun for about two months despite her grief. She found satisfaction on the misery of these men. And she thought it was worth the while until she went back to work in Romania.

Alodia breathed in the summer breeze in Bucharest when her feet touched the ground. She just got off from the plane. The expansive airfield was busy with loading and unloading luggage from the planes. Not far away was a building with glass walls, where she must go in to get her baggage and to face the airport personnel for her official entry to the country. Her co-passengers were already in a hurry to get past this process. And so was she. She couldn’t wait to get to her new home and have a rest, hoping her new employers were considerate enough.
She hadn’t noticed that she forgot to close her handbag after going to the lavatory. Hence, her passport fell off while she walked to the luggage area.
“Scuzaţi mă.”
She heard a man’s baritone voice said. However, she didn’t pay any attention to it. Perhaps, it wasn’t her who he was talking to anyway.
“Ah… Miss… Binundo, Alodia?”
She stopped walking when she heard her name, which was pronounced sexily. Yes, she had never heard her name so sexily called out by a stranger. Then, she slowly looked over her shoulder and saw a tall, dark and handsome man who was wearing a pair of dark sunglasses. His dark head was a bit bent as he was reading her passport that was in his hand. Her jaw fell and her feet carried her in front of him and snatched her passport from him.
“Mulţumesc!” she thanked him curtly and turned away after she took note of his beautiful facial features.
He had slightly beaky nose but it wasn’t at all ugly. In fact, it made him look attractive. His face was truly handsome with high cheekbones, thick but perfectly formed brows like they were sculpted deliberately by the gods who had nothing to do. He had strong jaw and lips that looked hard and firm. Plus, there was this hidden sensuality on his red lips. Overall, he was a beautiful man indeed! Beautiful like a Greek god.
Note to self. He’s a gorgeous Gypsy-looking man with an American accent! How is that for a unique man like him?
“So, you know Romanian?” He spoke in English now while following her and his strides were long, so it didn’t take him much longer or even effort to catch up with her. He walked beside her toward the luggage area although she wanted to ignore him.
“Yes, isn’t it obvious?” she returned and glanced at him with that look of “get lost, stranger!”
He suddenly started to smile at her, which made her heart flutter for some reason. “Are you free for coffee or something?” he asked straightforwardly.
Harman kneeled in front of Alodia when she sat on the edge of the bed in Harman’s room. An open small box with a twinkling diamond ring met her eyes when she looked at it. She thought he must have prepared it long ago, knowing that he truly loved her since the day he set his eyes on her on their way to Romania.“Can I officially hold on to you forever, iubirea mea?” His eyes searched hers as he asked that question.“Can you tell me first why you gave me the papucul doamnei?” she asked him, looking intently at his waiting handsome face.“To let you know that you are rare and difficult to find,” he answered with amusement. She laughed at that and wound her arms around his neck, looking into his eyes. “I should say you’re very rare too, Harman. I wouldn’t find any man who’s like you. Never in the whole world!”“I know,” he agreed, proud of himself, ma
Harman, in turn, gently caressed her back. “All is forgiven now,” he said quietly in her ear. “And just for the record, I never had a grudge on you for leaving me that day. But I just thought I’d died. My life was so meaningless without you, Alodia. I was working so hard just to find you. I just loved you everyday more and more, iubirea mea. Just that you were not there by my side. That was what hurt me so much! And that I couldn’t hug you, kiss you and make love to you…” He kissed her neck then; his lips felt the fast-beating pulse there.“B-but… if I confess something to you… would you forgive me?” She wriggled free from his embrace and looked him in the eye. Her eyes were filled with tears.“Alodia, I love you so much! I don’t even know why I love you so much. Why won’t I forgive you? And I’ve even already accepted that my family won’t ever forgive me again, e
The other woman smiled at her. She could see that there was a change in her. She could feel that this woman’s smile was genuine this time.Maybe it is because of Harman. She has him already in her life, she thought dejectedly.“You still have a grudge on me, huh?” Laili stated and stepped closer to Alodia. She looked fashionable in her cream-colored long winter coat.“And why not? You’re the reason that…” and she halted. It was all in the past. “Why are you here, by the way? If… you’re looking for your husband, he’s not living in that house but that one across the street. This one right here is my friend’s.” She pointed the houses respectively while she spoke, trying to not blow up in Laili’s face. Why did I even think of talking to her when she called me anyway? Now, she regretted it.The other woman chuckled. “My husband you’re sayi
Alodia didn’t know how she got home because of the memories and different thoughts that bothered her. She felt like a zombie walking after she off the bus. It was even a miracle for her to arrive home still in one piece. She was so damn tired! And she fell into the couch like a defeated soldier. She stirred from her disturbed nap because of the doorbell. It was like there was an emergency. She didn’t know she’d fallen asleep when her body hit the couch. When she glanced at her wrist watch, it was already past six in the evening.“Shit! Nicu!” She ran toward the door to open it.Then, she stepped back when she saw Harman with Nicu. The kid came in and looked at her desperately for a second or two.“You’re such a loser, Alodia!” he said gaily. “You forgot to pick me up at school!” he complained in his usual gay tone. There was no grudge in this boy, which amazed her. However, she frowned at
Alodia literally jumped back because of it. Her hand was on her breast. She turned and walked away from him, as fast as she could. But Harman followed her and held her arm tightly.“Will you stop running away from me? If you do, I’ll still follow you around. You know that!” he said in a hard tone. She looked at him with desperation in her eyes. She thought he was just one of those men that she left with a broken heart. She would let them fall in love with her and leave them high and dry, and then, she was on her merry way.“How could you still follow me around when I’ve already left you? I already threw you away like garbage!” But actually, he was like a shadow that she wanted to get rid of. She had her own reasons besides her revenge on men.“Yes, I even asked myself that same question. Why am I doing this? You killed me when you left me. My heart
“You already took care of me and Nicu, Alodia. That was all I asked of you, right? Besides, you’ve done more than you ever know. You made me strong when my husband was gone. You came into my life and Nicu’s just in time! And believe it or not, I found the best friend in you. You never left me high and dry,” she said and laughed, quoting her. “And I want to do the same for you. I’ll be by your side to get you through this, Alodia. That’s a promise. So, you have to show me that you are strong, too. You’re not like Alyanna. You’re different from your sister. You can do this. You were able to get through this before. Why not again? Just think of it as a replay.” Her friend soothed her by rubbing her back gently. She tried to nod as she continued to cry. It still hurt especially that it was about Harman. She thought she was over him after all these years. But then, she had loved him still all these years. And nothing chan
