Alodia finally stopped the video from his own cellphone camera and she sent the pictures and video to all his contacts that were on his phonebook. She smiled with triumph afterward.
The phone’s alert message tone beeped.
“Hon, someone’s just sent me a text,” Emerson said while his eyes were still closed.
She turned off the message alert tone, so that he wouldn’t get distracted or even get curious why the messages continuously flooded his inbox. She stepped in the direction of the bathroom and from there, she answered sweetly. “You check the text later, hon! I’ll be out in a few moments and I’ll take you to heaven! Okay?” She turned on the shower as if she was taking it.
She then read the text messages as a reply to the pictures and video that she sent to all his contacts.
Dude! What happened to you? Why did you send me your scandalous pics and vid? I’ll post these on my social media! Haha! said the one who was named Carlos.
Jerk! Are you nuts? Who’s the girl? A Sharon said.
You dirty bastard! I’ll get you for this, Emerson! A Teresa threatened.
She smiled at the text messages. Then, she wiped away her finger prints from the phone and everything she had touched in the condo unit. Afterward, she looked behind her while the man was still waiting for her patiently. There was a victorious smile pasted on her beautiful lips as she left the condo unit with the door banged. She heard him cry, calling her by sister’s name.
She gritted her teeth. From now on, she was going to play with men as her lamentation and grief for the death of her sister. By that, the male species would think that not every woman would fall for their charms and that not all women would fall in love with them blindly that they forgot their dignity and self-esteem. Just like her sister.
But certainly not her. And now, she was on a mission to make men cry.
There had been many men who wanted to date her while she still stayed in the Philippines. She met them either in the mall or some restaurants where she met some old friends. Of course, she didn’t bring these men to her family’s house. Instead, she just met them somewhere in public until she decided it was time to humiliate them.
In just a short time, she let them all believe that she had fallen for them. Like what she did to Emerson, she did to all of them. Most of them did not stay in the country anymore because of the shame that befell on themselves and to their family. However, no one was after her to sue her or report her to the authorities to avoid more shame. Besides, she brought her twin sister’s name. The poor men had no idea she was the twin. As for a few who wanted to get back at her through the authorities, they would “realize” later on that they were being played by a girl who was already dead. It was curious. But since they were afraid to be sent to a mental institution instead, they just let the case get closed. Even the police found this situation hilarious and didn’t want to investigate more, for reasons that there were other priorities than suing or getting back at a dead girl.
Alodia couldn’t help but have her fun for about two months despite her grief. She found satisfaction on the misery of these men. And she thought it was worth the while until she went back to work in Romania.

Alodia breathed in the summer breeze in Bucharest when her feet touched the ground. She just got off from the plane. The expansive airfield was busy with loading and unloading luggage from the planes. Not far away was a building with glass walls, where she must go in to get her baggage and to face the airport personnel for her official entry to the country. Her co-passengers were already in a hurry to get past this process. And so was she. She couldn’t wait to get to her new home and have a rest, hoping her new employers were considerate enough.
She hadn’t noticed that she forgot to close her handbag after going to the lavatory. Hence, her passport fell off while she walked to the luggage area.
“Scuzaţi mă.”
She heard a man’s baritone voice said. However, she didn’t pay any attention to it. Perhaps, it wasn’t her who he was talking to anyway.
“Ah… Miss… Binundo, Alodia?”
She stopped walking when she heard her name, which was pronounced sexily. Yes, she had never heard her name so sexily called out by a stranger. Then, she slowly looked over her shoulder and saw a tall, dark and handsome man who was wearing a pair of dark sunglasses. His dark head was a bit bent as he was reading her passport that was in his hand. Her jaw fell and her feet carried her in front of him and snatched her passport from him.
“Mulţumesc!” she thanked him curtly and turned away after she took note of his beautiful facial features.
He had slightly beaky nose but it wasn’t at all ugly. In fact, it made him look attractive. His face was truly handsome with high cheekbones, thick but perfectly formed brows like they were sculpted deliberately by the gods who had nothing to do. He had strong jaw and lips that looked hard and firm. Plus, there was this hidden sensuality on his red lips. Overall, he was a beautiful man indeed! Beautiful like a Greek god.
Note to self. He’s a gorgeous Gypsy-looking man with an American accent! How is that for a unique man like him?
“So, you know Romanian?” He spoke in English now while following her and his strides were long, so it didn’t take him much longer or even effort to catch up with her. He walked beside her toward the luggage area although she wanted to ignore him.
“Yes, isn’t it obvious?” she returned and glanced at him with that look of “get lost, stranger!”
He suddenly started to smile at her, which made her heart flutter for some reason. “Are you free for coffee or something?” he asked straightforwardly.
Alodia didn’t notice that she already stopped walking, gawping at him. Her face was flushed. She could feel the heat that spread all throughout it, including her forehead.Wow, she’d never seen such a man with cherry lips! And they looked so kissable! She suddenly wondered how many women tasted those striking lips.Wait. What am I thinking? Why do I seem to be attracted to this stranger? She didn’t want to be attracted to someone. After everything her sister had done? Not to mention what she did to take her sweet revenge on Adam’s sons. She swallowed the non-existent lump in her throat and cleared it. “I’m sorry. I don’t think I should go for a coffee or something with… a stranger,” she answered carefully. And she had no idea why when she acted like a bitch earlier.“If you think that I know your name and I’ll let you know my name, then we’re not strangers anymore, are we?&r
Alodia readily settled in the home of her new employers, Iustina and Petru, a Romanian couple who worked as professors. The house was big with two stories, which she admired. It was made of concrete and the floor was of white tiles. She stayed on the ground floor, at the room close to the kitchen and living room. Meanwhile, the couple who had an offspring stayed upstairs. She thought it was a nice home when she was toured by the couple. The second floor had three rooms, two bathrooms and a study, where they could bring work to home, if necessary. It had a couple of shelves filled with different types of books, including fiction and technical ones. On the ground floor was a cozy living room complete with appliance, as well as the kitchen, dining room, a bathroom and a game room.Since it was a Sunday the next day, Harman called Alodia. She was a bit surprised, not really knowing what to expect of him.“Hey, I never thought you’d call,” she said with a
Alodia was brought to reality when her employer, Iustina, knocked on her door and told her that her visitor just arrived. She hadn’t even realized the family had already returned, since she took a long bath and pampered herself. She hadn’t realized until that moment that she did prepare wholeheartedly for her date with Harman later. She smiled and thanked forty-year-old Iustina for letting her know. After looking at herself in the huge standing mirror in her room, she went out. She thought letting her natural long dark brown hair down and wearing a black tube top sundress with blue print hibiscus paired with flat sandals were good enough for this summer night. Her feet were light when she walked out of her cream-walled room. She couldn’t almost believe she was anticipating this date. But she knew deep inside that it was way different from going out with those men she had in the past. When she appeared in the living room, where the th
“That’s fine by me. How about… kids? Do you have any?” That was Alodia’s another question thrown at him before she took a sip of sparkling water.“No kids, no adopted children, no wife, no live-in partner and no girlfriend or the so-called fling,” he answered in deliberate detail. Her eyes sized him up before she spoke. “I see. The same for me, I have none.” That was all she could say for now.“No boyfriend ever since?” he bluntly asked her, clearly want to know her relationship history. She was reminded of the string of men that she left in the midst of scandal she instigated. “No, ever since my birth on this planet,” she answered and smiled at him.“Seriously?” It was his time to raise an eyebrow. It was his turn to size her up.“I know, right? I’m twenty-two but I never had a boyfriend ever since.” She softly laughed at that and sh
Alodia laughed hard at that out-of-the-blue proposal. Their eyes held for long though, before she shook her head. “You have a weird sense of humor, Harman. But I like it. And about your proposal, no, thank you. I’m happy with my job and I love kids.”He stared at her face for a long moment before he spoke huskily. “Then… perhaps we can remedy that part where you love kids…” He deliberately let the sentence hang in the air, and she could get what he said between the lines. It was even as bright as the shining sun during the day but it was way hotter than the summer temperature in the Philippines! She laughed again; it was tinkling animatedly. Yes, she was enjoying his company! Pretty much. She had truly never enjoyed anyone’s company than his. Ever. What could Harman have that she liked him very much, that he was so different from all other men? This, she kept on thinking like an unsolved puzzle. It wasn’t just bec
Alodia could see those orbs clearly even with the colored dim lights in the park. She could tell what was on his mind at that very moment. She was not that innocent anyway. Instead of shying away or being uncomfortable, she found it amusing and exciting, even though she could feel her body blush.Just because it is Harman and not just some other guy. And whether you admit it or not, you really like him, Alodia, her mind commented. Her laugh was tinkling like a bell. “I just said whatsoever one wishes to do, right? Or are you just going to let me elaborate on that part?”“Yes, please do elaborate on that part,” he urged her with a soft laugh, too.It made her skin grow goosebumps, hearing him laugh like that. It just sounded so, so sexy. It seemed to caress her down her lady parts it was crazy.Their arms rubbed each other accidentally as they continued to stroll around the park. She could feel the friction that trav
“I… was really devastated when my sister died. And I still am. She was all I’ve got. She was even the reason why I’m working abroad… working so hard… And now, I’m all alone… even though I still have an aunt and a cousin who care so much about me. It’s just… different now… you know?” And Alodia’s voice faded away as she looked away from him.“I understand.”She heard him say it with a gentle voice. She looked at him once more. “I wish you really do,” she said with a hidden meaning. She then sighed and drank all the cloudy white liquid that was left in her glass.“What I don’t understand is that you’re still here… when the fact is that your sister’s already gone,” he mused. “Should I thank her in spite of everything that this has put you through?” His dark brown eyes were searching hers.Although she co
Harman would always call Alodia during lunch time. He’d say it was his break time. Therefore, he had a reason to call her. And because she and Giani always eat their lunch early and the child always had her afternoon nap, she had all the time to herself.Giani was tired of playing and watching TV, so she took an earlier afternoon nap that day. Hence, Alodia spent her time cleaning the house, wiping the electronics and windows, and there he was, calling her up again. This time, he called on her cell phone.“So, what’s new with your company?” She wanted to keep their conversation as neutral as possible. It was one of her tactics so that she would know him better and thus would make him court her all the more. After all, men liked to talk about themselves and their passion. They usually wanted to brag about their achievements and whatnot. And she knew how to show her interest so he’d admire her as well on that side of her for being curious of
