(Asher’s POV)

The night I spent sleeping on the same bed as Elaine felt peaceful albeit short. Morning came, which means the biological clock inside me—which I’ve practiced since the repetitive rounds—woke me up from my sleep. I was about to bask myself in staring at Elaine’s sleeping face when her disappearance completely shook me up from my daze.
