(Asher’s POV)

“Mom, what is the meaning of all this?” I called my mother soon after I finished reading the news. Meanwhile, Elaine is in a daze on her bed.

“It heightens my mood to hear you so energetic in the morning, son.” My mother dithered.

“Mom…!” I retorted, getting a bit annoyed.

My mother loudly cackled, entertained  that she managed to irritate her son. My mother can be like this sometimes.

“Alright, I’m sorry, my dear.” My mother finished her laugh. “So it’s like this, apparently our allies increased. I received a report from the police HQ that multiple reports and requests of arresting Rose Chadwick was received in just a short amount of time yesterday, which was why the police was able to apprehend her using the arrest permit.”

My mother suddenly giggled again. “I’m just impressed by how fast things progressed.”
