Monday came, and to my relief, there was no sign of Ryker. The weekend had been rough enough, and I needed some space and time to process everything that had happened. Emily, on the other hand, had been quiet following her emotional breakdown, and I was doing my best to support her through it.

“Let’s get wasted tonight, Harp. I want to drink.” Her suggestion caught me off guard. “I want to let loose and escape reality for a while.”

“It’s Monday, Emily. What if we can’t wake up the next day?”

“We can sleep in and deal with the consequences tomorrow. Tonight, we party.”

I snorted at the look on her face. She looked so determined to get wasted without caring about the outcome.

“Okay, if you say so...” I replied with a small smile. “Let’s do it. It’s been a while since we had a girls’ night out.”
