“Fine, take a seat if it’s going to last.”
Neal sat down and she did after she put the flowers in a vase of water.
“Tomorrow go on a date with me.”
“I have never heard of a date before the wedding. You finally have time?”
“Yes, I do have time and I would love to know you better before we tie the knot.”
“Too late for that but I would love to if it means leaving the palace walls.”
“You are getting tired already?”
“Trust me its suffocating.”
“You will get used to it.”
“So where will we be going for the date?”
“That’s a secret.”
“Should I be wearing these clothes again?”
“Don’t worry about that. I will take care of it.”
“Hope you will do. It’s time, wouldn’t want to keep your mother waiting.”
“I heard she likes you.”
“Who can hate me?”
“A lot.”
“Thanks to you,” she said standing up.
Neal joined her and the two went to the queen’s quarters.
“Let’s talk after supper,” she said and they all went to the dining room.
Everyone was there, after the formal greetings she sat on her chair.
The meal was usually enjoyed in total quietness which made it awkward. After some time, they were done. The King was an interesting old man; you couldn’t tell what he was thinking at all. He didn’t say anything but left the hall.
She followed the queen when she left the hall.
“Is everything okay?” she asked her.
“It is, my Queen.”
“You shouldn’t call me that now. You are my daughter and it’s wise to call me mother,” the Queen said.
She was touched, she never had a chance to call anyone mother and yet the most powerful woman was asking her to call her mother. She found tears rolling down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them away.
“I didn’t mean to make you cry, if it’s too much you cannot call me that,” the queen said filled with guilt.
“No, it’s not that. I’m just happy that’s all, mother,” she said and found the queen smiling at her.
“I’m glad. I never had any girls so it’s good to have another girl in my family again.”
“I’m glad that I now have a mother,” Talia said feeling very grateful.
To be honest the queen had been very supportive and she had no idea why she was like that especially when she came from humble roots. She would have expected her son to be with someone who fitted him well and not someone like her who only held a high school graduation certificate.
When things were tough, she would give her some pointers which were very helpful. It must have been her idea for Neal to ask her out a day before their wedding.
“I’m tired and need to rest. You two take your time and have some fun together. You will be very busy soon,” she said dismissing them.
They both bided her goodnight and farewell and left her chambers.
“Do you want to take a walk?” he asked.
“Sure, if you have nowhere to be.”
“I don’t, let’s get to know each other well,” he said.
What was there to know about each other anyway? She couldn’t even tell him much more about herself. Even she still couldn’t believe it was real, so why would she go around telling anyone even if it was her future husband.
“What’s on your mind?”
“I’m just thinking that in two days will be married.”
“Is it that shocking?”
“Not anymore, I’m used to it.”
“Are you implying it is ordinary?”
“To be honest, there don’t seem to be anything special being married to a prince. I have always wanted to have freedom but thanks to you I have to be restricted. Why should it be special?”
“I seriously can’t believe you. You should be thankful and praising me for choosing you.”
“That means you have no idea about me your highness. I don’t fawn over people, if you had wanted that kind of attention then you should have picked someone else. I am used to doing things for my own and what you think of me is not who I am.
So, since you decided to marry me then you might as well get used to it because this will be just the beginning. You think you mad it better by pinning me into this? I know exactly what you are doing?”
“I didn’t know you could talk this much.”
“Trust me, I don’t but since you have been ignoring me all this time; I might as well just speak it out. We are still not yet a married couple. I will have to respect you and all that bullshit when we tie the knot but now, I can still be myself so I will say it all,” she said.
“Fine, tell me what’s on your mind and I will listen. I never met a girl who had so many guts to talk like you before.”
“Fine, you love Chloe and yet you didn’t pick her as if to punish her but instead of just talking things out you put me in between and now I have to suffer for both sides which I don’t mind at all; but if you mistreat me and try to play me in your palm as if I’m your puppet I won’t tolerant it at all.
After our wedding I heard we will sleep in the same room and all that. Don’t do things that will disappoint me, I might not be educated but I can make your life a miserable hell,” she told him truthfully.
“I have never seen a consort threatening her husband before. You surely have guts.”
“I do, so talk things out with your girlfriend. I wouldn’t want her near me in the future because I won’t be tolerant of anyone. If you are going to see her in the future, just make sure I don’t get to see it. Remember you made your bed and you should lie in it,” she said looking straight into his eyes.
He was so handsome she regretted spouting so much nonsense to him. She felt jealousy that he held someone so dear in his heart and yet he was marrying her just to spite her. Being used by him was just painful and she could only just vent out on him.“You are tired, return to your room now,” he said.“Goodnight,” she said and turned her back on him.She knew he was angry and she was very sorry about it but she was glad that she said it or else she won’t be able to sleep well that night. She entered her room and removed the evening dress she wore that night and changed into her night wear. The moon was shining so brightly in the night sky and she couldn’t leave her room but just admire it through the window. She looked at the moon and began to meditate the words her nana told her the night she saw her. The more she said them the more she felt very calm. After that she crawled into her bed and slept.&n
“Aren’t you going to pick one?”“Just choose what you think will be good,” she said.Neal after a long consideration picked a black slim cell with a nice rear and front camera. While he paid for it, she was busy looking at the phone covers. She had always wanted to have a matching cover with her boyfriend if she ever had one. Now that she skipped from a boyfriend to a husband, will she have her dream fulfilled?“What’s on your mind?” he asked her.“Can you buy that for me?” she asked looking at the covers.Neal smiled and asked the sales attendant for the covers.“You want matching covers?”She couldn’t answer that question at all, she felt very embarrassed.“I will buy them for you,” he said and paid for them. When the phone got registered as well as the SIM card, the attendant put the cover on and she was happy. Neal took his phon
Neal was still a university student at the capital biggest university. He was in his third year. It was the royal family’s tradition for every prince to marry before he turns twenty-one years of age. The ceremony was arriving for him to choose his bride and the only person he could choose was Chloe. He had promised to make her his in front of everyone. Make everyone bow to her and respect her.A week before the ceremony he decided to surprise her at her house. He didn’t call in advance and just went there. What he wasn’t expecting was to see his girlfriend and best friend making out as if it was normal. He was speechless and couldn’t confront them at all.The only thing he could do was simply to withdraw and act as if he never saw it. He planned to trample on the promise he made and make sure that she suffers the most humiliation she could ever get in her life. She stomped on his heart and he was going to do this same too.As if everythin
“So, it’s true, now you can’t even defend yourself. I saw you with my own eyes and couldn’t ask you at all. I wanted you to feel the same pain I did when I found out about you two. Just leave me alone Chloe.I will not tell anyone about it to show you some respect because of our past affection but from now on please stay away from me as possible. I have a wife I need to care about.”“Don’t do this to me Neal, please. I’m sorry, it just happened.”“I don’t care how it happened really. I just want you out of my sight or else I will tell every media outlet there about you and see whether you can walk holding your head high,” he threatened her.Chloe wiped away her tears and withdrew from the class. He slapped the book on the table and closed her eyes. It was really painful; he loves her but he just couldn’t do anything about it now.“Neal!” Jasper his other
Her son kept avoiding Talia so she had to threaten him so that he could spend some time with her. If left alone for too long, she didn’t know what the end would be like. She left her hall and went to where her husband and king were.“Did the Priestess left?”“Yes, she did.”“So, it’s finally happening?”“Yes, it is.”“For the first time our son did something good.”“Yes, he did. Do you think we should tell him?”“No, we mustn’t. They should be able to talk it out themselves. Let us not interfere and let the kids settle this among themselves.”“That is true my love. Let’s wait and see where it will lead us. I have to take the beads out now. You should rest early; it will be a very long day tomorrow.”“It will be. It’s been so long since we had a huge event like this.”&ldq
Her nanaba had warned her that it would come announced but she never thought it would come now. She closed her eyes and began to meditate when she suddenly fell into a slumber. It was like a dream but it felt so real. She saw the back of a woman walking; she looked old from the back considering the silver hair. She was curious so she followed her for a long time before the woman suddenly stopped and picked a peony flower and turned around. She was surprised that she fell to the ground. She looked exactly like her, how was that even possible?“Who are you?” she asked the woman.“I am you and you are me,” she answered her.“What’s happening here?”“Take this,” she said giving her the flower and she stood up and took it.“I’m going to tell you a story, everything is true so pay attention because we don’t have much time,” she said. She nodded her head in respons
Her hair was pinned nicely behind her back before the diamond tiara on her head.“It’s time, they are waiting.”Talia was escorted out of the changing and straight to the hall where she found her nanaba looking gorgeous as always.“You look beautiful, my child,” she said kissing her cheeks.“Thank you, nanaba.”“Let’s go inside, a lot of people are waiting.”“Let’s get this over with.”Her nanaba took her arm in hers and the doors opened. The orchestra was playing the wedding march while she walked down the aisle. Her husband Neal was standing in the front in a gorgeous black tuxedo. He was a very handsome man indeed. Her nanaba handed her over to Neal who took her hand and the two faced the Arch Bishop. They took their vows in front of everyone in the modern way and exchanged the wedding bands.“I now pronounce you husband and wife, prin
The chariot passed through many roads and from time to time they waved until they reached the palace. At the place their bags were already packed and the car was waiting. The car took them to the airport where the royal jet was waiting for them. After settling the jet was airborne. Because she was tired, she just closed her eyes forgetting that she had not eaten anything and slept. She had another dream again. She saw the silver haired lady again, holding the seven-gem bead bracelet in her left hand and using her right hand to touch people. She could see and hear their thoughts, their pasts and future. It was as if the bracelet was a guide that helped her to maneuver well. The woman kept doing that to people and telling them words that brought them hope and it was beautiful. She avoided telling them the sad parts and tells them how to avoid some calamities too. If her gift was the same as the silver haired lady then she really had a huge job to do.
