Chapter Nine

Over the next few days, Ethan and Saira secretly met in the library every afternoon and one time she forgot she was supposed to meet Daniel for lunch in the cafeteria. She'd put her phone on silent in marketing class and hadn't remembered to put it back to ring and vibrate and by the time she remembered, she had to leave for her shift at the store.

"How could I have forgotten?" She berated herself as she hurried to the store. "I hope Daniel's not mad at me. He's not picking his calls." She tried his number again and sighed in relief when he finally answered but he was upset.

"I'm so so sorry babe. I got carried away reading in the library." She apologized and wondered at the back of her mind why she'd just lied to him.

"You don't usually go to the library to read. Are you still mad because of what I did the last time?" He asked.
