"Actually no." She said flatly.

His smile dimmed and she smirked smugly back at him, happy she'd stolen his thunder.

"I already knew." She shrugged. "Darina loves Ethan too much, so it's out of the question that she'll want him to plead guilty in court. Lucian doesn't have anything to gain by kidnapping me, so I figured that you would be behind it." She waved her hands in the air. "It wasn't rocket science."

"Very well." He breathed. "Then you must know the condition I set for him."

"Ethan would never do that." She scoffed. "It seems you don't know him."

"I know he loves you very much and he'd do anything for you." Daniel smirked.

"You're asking him to throw his life away!" She yelled.

"Pssh. I'm sure he'll get a lesser sentence." He shook his head. "His dear mother wouldn't let him go down like that."

"And this is how you want to repay the woman who opened her arms to welcome you? The woman who treated you like her son when your own biological mother abandoned you?" Saira questioned.
