View MoreI stared at the huge vase in front of me, currently being held up by two people. They'd been holding it for quite some time now, and honestly, a tiny part of me was beginning to feel sorry for them. Why? Because the case was damn heavy. But even at that, I couldn't bring myself to drop it off at any corner of the room. I needed to find the right spot to keep it because everything had to be perfect.
“Could you move it to the left please?” Amidst the busy background of the living room, they shuffled to the left, before waiting for my verdict. “No, take it to the right.”
It still didn't fit any of those places and a small frown made its way to my lips. After thinking for a couple of seconds, I finally decided.
“Just leave it where it is.” The duo heaved a sigh of relief as they dropped the vase to the ground. I had no idea why I hadn't noticed it before, but it looked perfect in its new position. “Can you two check on the refreshments please?”
With a nod and bright smiles on their faces, they headed in the direction I'd pointed out.
“Could you help me out with this balloon here?” I asked no one in particular. In less than a minute, one of the party guests had rushed over to my side, just to reinflate the already disappearing balloon. In less than a minute, he was done and I found myself taking everything in.
The living room was currently run over with different decorations, from stringed fairy lights to balloons and even glitter , everything adored the living room.
It was my husband's birthday today, and just like every other year, Daniel deserved the best on his special day. Thanks to a couple of friends, we decided to plan a surprise party for him.
“Ma'am.” Someone broke into my monologue. “The cake just arrived.”
“Put it out on the dining table.” The cake was my favorite part of the ceremony. I'd ordered a three tier cake with all of Daniel's favorite flavors and I could bet my life he was going to love it.
While the other guests chatted amidst themselves, whilst simultaneously waiting for the birthday boy, I made my way towards the window. Raising the blinds only slightly, I peeked out of the square box that served as a window. The driveway was quiet, but I knew it was only going to be a matter of time before Daniel would arrive. From here, I had the perfect view of when he would do so, and I found myself grinning from ear to ear like a child on Christmas eve.
It didn't take too long for the smile to disappear. A frown made its way to my face as a memory popped up in my mind.
“Look at you.” The distaste on her face wasn't hard to miss. “Aren't you ashamed of yourself, even if it's a little bit?”
“But mum….”
“Don't you dare call me that!” She spat. “I'm your mother-in-law, and looking at it right now, I think I've made the biggest mistake of my life. If I had known that you were a barren woman, then I would never have allowed you to get married to my son.”
“I'm not barren, mum.” I croaked, as her words slashed me straight in the heart. “Daniel and I just need more time…”
“Don't you dare take my son's name in your mouth.” She spat again, causing me to flinch. “Daniel doesn't have a fault in this, it's all you. You're a barren woman and you're trying to push it down on my son. It's not going to work..”
“But mum, you have to believe me….”
“Not another word from you.” She hissed. “You will give me a grandchild and for your sake, I hope it's soon enough, or else.”
I didn't need my mother-in-law to finish the rest of her statement from that day. She never finished it, but I didn't want to know why? Because it was bound to be something negative.
It was every mother's joy to hold her grandchild or children in her hands, and I was sure that was only Daniel's mother's wish. Yes, she had been harsh on me over the years, but hopefully, that was going to change soon.
A wistful smile made its way to my lips as the memory faded away. Slowly, I ran a hand over my belly, the small circles warming up the side of my stomach. My smile grew wider as a loud honk pulled my attention back to the window. My eyes twinkled as I watched Daniel drive into the compound.
*He's here.” I yelled excitedly to the party guests. “Everyone, hide. Right now.”
The flurry of footsteps that echoed in the living room was insane, each one shuffling to find a good hiding spot to hide before Daniel would walk in. Just as the little crowd had melted into the background, a small knock came from the door.
“I'm coming.” I waddled to the front door, barely able to contain my steps. With a flourish, I swung open the doors.
“Surprise!” Echoed around the whole room the moment Daniel's face appeared in the doorway. My smile widened as I snuck a quick glance at the people behind me, before turning to face my husband again.
“Happy Birthday baby.” My singsong voice was surprisingly loud enough over the loud clapping from behind. “I love you so much.”
Without warning, I pressed my lips against his, but the reaction I got wasn't one I was expecting at all.
“Daniel?” I called out slowly, as Daniel pushed me back. “What's going on?”
Like the shock I'd just gotten wasn't already enough, I caught sight of someone behind him. A woman, looking all smug and I felt my stomach churn.
“Daniel?” I called out slowly. “Who's that?”
“This is Liliana,” The woman in question took a couple of steps forward, her heels echoing throughout the room. “She's my fiancé.”
Writer’s povAfter spending almost a month on Coma, Kaylee finally woke up. Hayden was beside her all through the times she was at the hospital and made sure he took care of her and she didn’t lack anything. After several checking they realized she was finally okay and in a few days she would be perfectly fine again.Tears welled down Hayden’s eyes as he held up to her tight placing her hand on his lips. He wanted to give her a big hug once again. He was desperate to make up for lost times. He realized there’s a lot he hasn’t done for her yet and with all the suffering she had to go through. He was ready to do what it takes to see a smile on her face again. After a few days Kaylee was on her feet but there was something different about her, she was acting strange. Hayden was scared by her behavior as well. “Doctor, what do we do about her? Is this going to keep happening?” Hayden asked the doctor, sounding very worried. “It’s as a result of the mental stress she had to go through
Writer PovHayden woke up very happy because Lilliana would be getting a divorce from Daniel and Hope would also be put behind bars for attempted murder on the life of Justin. It felt like a dream finally came through because watching Daniel and his evil Mother finally paying for their crimes makes him fulfilled. He wa getting ready for the day and he woke upvery early because he knew that he had a long day ahead of him. He was on his way to the police station when his phone began to ring and it was from an unknown number so he initially didn’t want to pick it up because he’s driving. But on second thought he realized that it could be an important call and considering the case he’s handling he can’t afford to miss an important call.He connected his phone to bluetooth and then picked the call so that he didn't have to hold the phone in his hand while driving. “Hello” he said as he picked the call.“Hi, please am I onto Mr Hayden?” A young woman's voice asked politely. Writes Pov Hayden was so livid at the William family for making Hallie go through so much pain and he just wanted them to pay dearly for their crimes.“Why did I ever doubt Hallie? At least if I had trusted her she would have confided in me” Hayden thought to himself because he pushed her away so many times when she needed him the most. It's so sad because he’s the only friend she has.If only I was there for her during the difficult times she went through she wouldn't be on the hospital bed right now fighting for her life. Hayden blamed himself so much for Hallie’s condition.“I wished I could take back the hands of time so that I would have done some things differently” he muttered to himself. The deed has been done and there was no need for him to beat himself up so much because it won’t change anything.Looking at Hallie lying on the hospital bed and fighting for her life made him wish he could just take the law into his own hands and kill Daniel with his bare hands. “The biggest
Writer’s Pov Hansel was shocked. “Did you just say she was pregnant and in the cause of the accident she lost her pregnancy?” Hansel asked the nurse again because he thought he didn’t hear correctly.“Yes you heard me correctly, due to the fall the baby in her womb couldn’t survive it so that caused her to lose the baby” the doctor explained to them again.Hansel and Liliana were both dumbfounded, Hallie never told Hansel that she was pregnant and he never had any idea of the pregnancy. Liliana at first thought she was the only one left in the dark until she realized that Hansel was also shocked.“Mom Hallie was pregnant?” He couldn’t believe his ears. “Yes Hansel, I’m sorry for the loss because I know you both must have been so excited to welcome your baby” Liliana said to Hansel because she thought that he was responsible for the pregnancy.“You should have at least told me about it” Liliana was a bit upset that they never mentioned it to her. “Mom how do I mention it to you when I
Kaylee's POV I focused on the system not minding anything around me at that time. I transfer all necessary files and documents to my drive. And it was loading. I became a little worked up about it and I panicked a little. When I was done transferring the file I was about to shutdown the system so that Paul wouldn't trace that I used it. I had already placed the drive in my pocket. “Who is that?” A firm feminine voice asked in a soft and anxious tone. I raised my head to see who it was and behold it was Hope. I panicked a little, I didn't know what to do or say at that moment I just stared at her eyes. Suddenly her face changed and she looked so furious. As she was getting closer I began to panic more. “What should I do next? what should I say to her?” I asked myself.Hope was very ruthless. If she found out what I had just done she would not hesitate to kill me. She came closer and looked at the laptop. She saw it was unlocked and turned to me as her eyes locked my eyes. I summoned
Writer's povWhen Hallie notices that the car is still following her, she decides to change direction. She turned and went to Daniel's mansion. “I know this must be from Hope but don't worry. Hope I will get you before you get me.” Hallie said to herself and continued with her driving. She picked up her phone and called Hansel. “Hi Hansel,” she greeted him warmly. “Hi Hallie, how are you doing today? Hansel asked her. “I'm fine thank you Hansel. I just thought of you so I wanted to stop by at the mansion so, I called to confirm if you were in the mansion? Hallie asked him, curiously.“No I'm not yet in the mansion but you can go over there and wait for me. I will come and join you soon” Hansel promised. “Okay then, see you later” Hallie responded and ended the call.“Who could possibly be at home right now? Is your mum Liliana at home or…” I asked but Hansel stopped me. “Yes Hallie, both my mum and grandma are at home. It's just my dad that isn't home.” Hansel replied to her and the
Kaylee’s pov Hansel dropped me at my hotel and when I got in I watched him drive out through my window and when he drove off I went to my bed and laid down.I laid down facing the ceiling and I began to flash back on what had happened in the hospital. Thank goodness Hansel came to my apartment today and told me to accompany him to see Justin.Justin is one of my favorite people here. I knew Hope didn't like him that much but I never imagined she could go as far as trying to kill him even when he was already hospitalized. What can a man who is in a nursing home really do to someone like Hope and Daniel.I picked up my phone and began to listen to the recording of what he said. This was very vital information and I couldn't help but record obviously it will be of great use in terms of providing evidence. I listen to it carefully and my hatred for Hope is even worse than what I felt before.“A poisonous medicine? But why will she have to go that far? Making him sign the documents of tra
Writer’s povHallie understood and could relate well to what he was saying because Hope did the exact same thing to her and that was the reason for her change in size and the reasons for her plastic surgery.“I can relate to what you are saying papa Justin because Hope did the same thing to me while I was still married to her son Daniel. She would serve me and then force me to eat it. I never knew it was one of her means of destroying me.” Hallie said to Justin. He was weak and you could tell from his voice that he was struggling to talk. His tone was low and calm on the ear but he still wanted to share with me what Hope did to him. “She is a very heartless and also a very ruthless woman. She made my blood pressure increase and made my health worse.” Justin told Hallie.“She would come here and feed me with poisonous food and when she was leaving she would give me medicine that was not prescribed by the nurses or any hospital. She made sure I take the medicine everyday after eating.”
Writer's povHope and Daniel sat over after dinner. “Daniel, what do you have to say about this girl named Hallie?” Hope asked Daniel, curiously. “Hmm… What about her? I realized you were trying to make a point about her being a bad person to Hansel.” Daniel replied to her. “Daniel, I said there is something wrong about that girl and I am right.” Hope insisted.Hope had her doubts about Hallie ever since she overheard her talking with Hansel. She vowed to know what Hallie was hiding. She tried convincing Daniel to also see it from her own light but Daniel wasn't interested. He felt Hope was only jealous and felt a little insecure about her maybe because Hallie had all the love from Hansel. “Daniel, have I ever lied or said anything that wasn't true to you?” Hope asked Daniel with a very serious look on his face.“It's fine mum but I still feel you are taking this too seriously and my over thinking the whole thing but you know it's fine.
