Sylvia pushed open the door to the medical room. A frown settled on her face when she saw the doctor was wrapping bandages around Blake’s body. She felt livid.

Blake then dismissed the doctor.

Sylvia stomped over to him and glared at her husband.

“You think I wouldn’t find about it if you hid this from me?” she questioned, folding her arms over her chest.

“Don’t create a fuss. This is a small injury.”

“Small injury?”

She laughed humorlessly.

“It sure looks like that. Why don’t you just get shot at your heart and be done for? At least I wouldn’t have to worry everyday.”

“I will protect myself better next time,” he voiced out.

“Next time? When will be that next time? Do you know how I feel when you are out to work everyday? How would you feel if you were in my position, worrying if I would make it out alive?”

Blake didn’t even want to think about that.

He extended his hand to grab on to hers and said, “I am sorry. I don’t want to make you worry. And didn’t I give you my word that I won’
