Could Be Worse

With one swift whirlwind I push Codyn out the of the way and the second I see the knife soar past his shoulder I simultaneously call on the Earth surrounding the man who threw the knife. Vines appear through the snow, despite the terrain and gasps come from the wolves surrounding him. Within just a few seconds vines have wrapped his legs and arms, making him completely immobile. I don’t let me guard down yet though, and I see that my mate has the same thought.

Codyn is now standing defensively in front of Scarlyt who has her hands out, no doubt thinking she would have to once again heal her mate. Oryn moved faster than I even realized and was in the same stance as Codyn in front of me. I gently stepped to the side of him, but not in front of him and addressed the wolves.
