Nathan's pov,

It was 9pm, and I was inside my office, sitting on my office chair that was placed in front of the desk.

Outside had turned dark, with the half bright moon and plenty of stars ruling over the skies. Although I was inside my office, only the dim lights were switched on and made the room a little darker and void of harmony.

I had thought about the first next step that I was going to take in order to make things go right for me.

I have decided to hold a meeting with the seven shareholders tomorrow, on Sunday.

My father was usually and weirdly busy most Sundays, so I doubt he would make it over to the company at that time. Besides, I had intended to discreetly invite the seven shareholders to the meeting tomorrow, so that there was no way my father was going to catch news of it.

I know the most important thing at hand was to make sure that Glems' company’s stock prices increased again.

But, I have to have the meeting with the shareholders first, because I would not be

I turned to the person after being distracted by the sound of footsteps approaching. It was none other than Nathan, who bore a smile on his face. How could he dare mask a smile on his face after everything that had happened to him? Was he stupid? And was I realizing that now? He should have told me about the situation with Glems’ company. Rather than being lovey dovey with me, he should have been thinking of ways to claim back his company!Nathan came to my side and squatted in front of me. His hand reached out to my face and touched my cheek. But I did not move and continued to stare at him without averting my gaze. “Sweetheart, are you alright? Your eyes… Did you cry?”. He asked me, and his brows furrowed like they wanted to touch and feel each other. I remained quiet though. I didn't know what to say.One mind was telling me to unleash my anger at him, and another of my mind was trying to make me control my anger. I did not know which mind I was going to listen to. There

I massaged my temples and let the phone call end, before I left the cell phone beside me on the sofa. Resting my head on the sofa and thinking about tomorrow, I smiled, because I knew that tomorrow was going to be a lovely day and a lovely experience for me. I had also planned to ask for some money from Nathan after our honeymoon. After all, was that not one of the main reasons why I had married him? A man ought to be able to take care of his woman, according to my dictionary. To me, it shouldn't be only about love, but money matters the most in a relationship. As a child, I had suffered enough. After experiencing such a pitiful childhood, only a fool would marry a poor man and continue to suffer with him until death tears them apart. What nonsense. My cell phone rang again, and picking it up, the caller didn't seem to change. It was still my mother. “Tsk. What a persistent woman”. I answered the call after I said this. I asked, “What is it, mom? If it is money you want, I wan

  • Heart of a Betrayed Wife   Chapter 143) Too much attention, but, the catch?

“No. No. No. You can't stay here. Your presence is not needed. You should leave. Right now”. I pointed my finger in the direction of the door as I said to Sasha, but she did not even react nor moved an inch from the sofa she was sitting on. She kept on staring at me, as if what I had said was nonsense. Those looks in her eyes. I can't get them out of my head. Seeing her nonchalant behavior, I shook my head at her and went outside, only to see that she was not kidding. Her luggage was indeed outside my penthouse. Purple color. And it was resting on the wall, an inch or two inches close to my door. I wanted to leave it out there, but would that not make me an awful brother even though I did not want her staying for a few days in my penthouse? I felt a gush of cold goosebumps within me when the thought of her staying with me for a few days came into my mind again. I could never. Or should I simply return to my mansion and leave her in my penthouse all by herself? But I initially

“I am hungry, big brother”. She suddenly turned to me and said, making me halt immediately before my body could hit her. Those soulless looks in her eyes always gave me the creeps. Up till now, I am still wondering how someone like her was an influencer. Her followers must be weirdos like she was. “Did you just come here to tell me that you are hungry? Didn't you eat at home before coming here? Is my penthouse some kind of restaurant where you can come and eat food?”. I asked her, expecting her to give me a reasonable reply or remain quiet as a normal human being. But could anyone believe that she faked a two second smile and nodded at me, thus directly answering my question and telling me that my penthouse was a restaurant for her. What did she take me for? A chef? A waiter?I sighed, before grabbing her hand and heading towards the exit door with her. I arrived in front of the door with her and opened it, but she? She forcefully made me let go of her hand and returned to my pe

  • Heart of a Betrayed Wife   Chapter 141) On edge.

Soren's pov, I tossed my cell phone on the sofa and went and stood in front of the transparent walls of my penthouse, staring outside. What I liked about staying at my penthouse rather than the mansion I recently bought was that the views of my penthouse were lively and enjoyable. But back at my mansion, it was boring as heck, because the surrounding lands meant to be occupied by the public were owned single handedly by me. That was the reason why I left my mansion and came here to my penthouse, because back there at my mansion, I was bored and had not stopped thinking about her. I had seen the news about Nathan Rodriguez that was soaring higher. He had been dismissed from his position as CEO of Glems' company, and now, the company's next owner was said to be Michael Rodriguez, the firstborn son of Mr Rodriguez and his late first wife, whose name had now been stated almost everywhere on the internet. Mrs Allison.I used to think that Mrs Cassandra was the one who gave birth to M

  • Heart of a Betrayed Wife   Chapter 140) Mentioning his late wife/ Shocked.

Cassandra’s pov, I remained sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine in my right hand, and my left leg above my right leg as I watched the TV. That was the way I could pass time without disturbing my mind about that wicked woman who stormed into my son's wedding. A day that was supposed to be a happy day turned out to be a disaster. That so-called religious woman ruined everything for my family. And the pain she inflicted on me was yet to heal completely. The scar was gone, but the faint pain was still there. Each strike in the place she punched me reminded me of the hatred I had for her. I never liked her, you see. The only person I found reasonable in the Gael's family was Kai. It has been a while since I last saw him. He and my son became good friends, and that was strictly why I allowed him to stick close to my son. If not, I would never have allowed him to be close to my son. Averting my mind from thoughts concerning those evil families, I stared beside me on the sofa, an
