BETRAYED BY MY COUSIN

Elisa's POV 

My jaw dropped as I walked towards the mansion, from afar I could hear very loud music, and a whole lot of people were jam-packed in the mansion. As I walked towards the mansion, I kept wondering what in the world was going on, could it be a birthday celebration? I was already buzzing with excitement.

As I stepped foot into the mansion, my heart was thudding in my chest as I couldn't help but notice the pitiful glances of my fellow pack members.

Something was wrong, I could feel it in the air.

But nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see. There he was, my fated mate, the man I loved with all my heart sitting on the couch with Selena, my cousin seated on his lap, they were both smiling and laughing to each other.

This isn't a dream is it?

I have never in my 5 years of stay with Roland seen him smile so brightly, And I just couldn't help it but admire his smile. 

"Wait, why are you admiring his smile? girl, this man is cheating right in front of your eyes and all you can do is admire his smile?" My inner man scolded.

"What is happening Roland?" I demanded at the top of my lungs.

All the guests from the werewolf council turned and faced me, enjoying the drama that was going on. My eyes roamed the whole room meeting each pair of eyes that gazed at me. Some in pity and some in mockery. But I didn't care.

I quickly rushed towards him but he held his right hand up making me halt in my tracks.

"You can speak from there" He ordered.

His voice was really cold and hostile, sending shivers down my spine. But I was not ready to show him how scared I was.

"What is going on here? Why are there so many people here and why is she here? What in the world is going on?" I screamed even louder.

Honestly, I can't tell where I mustered this courage from but I needed answers, because I deserved them. 

"Are you blind Elisa or are you just dumb? Can't you see that we are celebrating our mate bonding, a celebration of a new beginning is what is going on Elisa" Selena said her tone dripping with sarcasm.

I watched with shock as Selena planted a kiss on Roland's cheek and he smiled and returned it.

"A ...mate ...bonding? How is that possible, I...I ... am your m...m..m..ate roller... Um Roland" I was finding my words this time because I was dumb founded and finding it hard to believe that I had just lost my mate to some good looking Luna. 

"I never considered you as my mate, you are nothing but a lowly omega and there is no way I would make you my mate" Roland barked.

I burst into uncontrollable tears as my knees fell to the ground immediately. I wouldn't let him go like that. I loved him with all my heart and begging for his love in front of everyone is the least I can do to prove it. What would happen to me then? My life was already screwed from being born as an Omega, what would I do without him. 

"Psst.....Shameless woman" I heard someone say. I shot a dirty glance to the direction the sound came from and ignored it. Ladies were already gossiping and whispering in low tunes.

"Roland you can't do this to me, I love you so much, what about the mate bond we have together?...don't do this to me please"I begged like my life depended on it, I mean it did, I could never survive without this man. 

The gossip increased and the whispering grew louder, it seemed like everyone had a table full of words to spill. I knew I was going to become a laughing stock and the news of the town, but I didn't care any less.

Suddenly, everywhere became dead silent as I screamed in pain. Elisa had slapped me hard in the face.

Everyone gasped and faced me as my cheeks stung, tears rolled down my eyes as I winced in pain. 

My pain was not coming from the fact that I had just been slapped by Selena, but from the fact that Roland just sat there watching me as I was being humiliated by his new mate.

"He is my mate Elisa and not yours, get that into your thick skull" she yelled.

I stood there numb and shocked, I turned immediately and faced Roland, ignoring the slap, I mean I was still holding his leg.

"Roland please reconsider, I am your mate not Selena, you cannot do this to me " 

Roland didn't respond immediately he just smirked and sent a resounding kick to my chest which threw me to another corner of the room.

"Seize her" He instructed and stood up, cleaning his clothes like I was some kind of rodent.

I watched with wide eyes as the guards surrounded me like I was a criminal. 

"What have I ever done to you Roland? Why are you treating me this way? All I ever did was love and cherish you, but you left me for her? " I screamed at the top of my lungs trying to evade the grip of the guards.

"Shut the fuck up" he yelled at me making me flinch back in fear.

"You want to know why I left you? Then I will tell you "

Roland looked dead serious as he stared at me right in the eye. My heart was obviously beating at 150 beats per second. I could tell Immediately I saw the dead glance in his eye.

This is all wrong, they don't have any right to be angry at me, I should be the one wearing the angry look not him, I am the one that caught both of them together an obviously the one who is betrayed so why the hell am I being gaslighted and the one who is supposed to be feeling guilty now??.Crazy because I'm the one who is being humiliated in front of the entire pack.

My head fell into a bow as I stared at the floor, I couldn't dare to look the guests in the eye as this humiliation swallowed me whole.

"You thought I did not know? You little thief, you tried to steal from me and at the same time, you had the audacity to try and poison me" His voice was laced with anger and I could tell that it was dangerous at this point.

I tried to kill him? I have never had intentions to kill Roland nor have I ever dreamt of poisoning him in my entire life. Why would I do that? This man was not just my mate but my god, I basically worshiped him and I would never steal from him, what was I saying? I wouldn't ever dare to steal from anybody no matter how poor I am. 

"What Roland? . . . I have never in my life. . "I tried to explain.
