4. Job interview

The alarm had been ringing for quite some times now that it was irritating Bella, she had planned to ignore it and had even buried her head on the pillow and just as she stretched her hand to switch it off...

"Bella just get up already and don't even think of switching off your alarm otherwise you're going to be late for the interview," this was only what she required before her drowsiness vanished.

Interview!

Bella didn't hear even a single word other than this, and as always she just threw her blanket away before running to wash up, she didn't want to be late for the interview lest she misses on this chance to work at JB Inc, and since she didn't have enough time to prepare herself, she wore her usuals and rode her scooter.

JB Inc.

"Hello, how may I help you," Bella was asked politely by a young man who sat at the reception desk.

"Ooh hello, I am Bella Jake and am here for the interview," Bella replied and as she checked her watch she gasped before she searched through her backpack to find her resumes, she only had five minutes before the interview begin.

Ryan gave her the direction to the CEO's office before he sank back to his chair. He had never seen such a girl before, and just from her dress code it showed how care free she really was.

Who for God's sake attend an official interview on ragged denim pants. Ever since he started working in JB company, he had never seen a lady moving around with a backpack, all the ladies he had encountered usually had designer handbags, but so he thought this girl must be unique and special in her own way.

Ryan made a mental note that if she were to work in this company, he would really like to get close to her.

Bella felt really frustrated moreso with the elevator, everything today was frustrating her, first she woke up later that she didn't even have time to put on something decent, not like he had any at all, when she entered the elevator she had bumped in to a young man who seemed like a pervert, just smiling at her like a fool and here the elevator seemed to be so slow.

"Seems like you're in such a hurry, are you going for the interview," Joel, Kevin's brother whom Bella had bumped in to asked Bella to clear up the awkwardness in the elevator, he had taken note of the envelope in her hand.

"Yeah, I am, but I would really appreciate if you were to keep your mouth shut, Bella replied irritated with this pervert who seemed like he had a lot to talk about.

Joel remained dumbfounded, he just wanted to start up a conversation but seems like this girl wasn't in for it, and seeing her irritation he decided to irk her up a little bit more.

"Woah, easy there sweetheart, you know I work here, I can put some good words for you," Joel said again, but this time with a smirk on his face.

Seeing the smirk on his face, Bella smiled mischievously and for some unknown reason Joel had a bad premonition about this.

When Bella saw that they were almost on the fourty ninth floor, she moved closer to Joel, and there was an intimidating aura around her that Joel moved backwards until his back touched the wall of the elevator.

Bella tiptoed until her mouth could nearly touch his ear, "don't worry sweetheart, I can manage on my own," she replied tauntingly and just at that very same moment, the evelator dinged as the door opened, Bella pecked him on his cheek, smiled sweetly and left, leaving Joel still in daze.

Kevin, who was just on his way was surprised to see his brother leaning on the elevator wall, he seemed pale and terrified as if blood had been drawned from his face, more like seen a ghost, so he entered just before the door could close.

"What are you doing here,and what's with that expression on your face, seems like you really enjoy staying on the elevator?"Kevin asked as he couldn't comprehend what was wrong with his brother.

"Brother, you're here?"Joel called breaking out of his reverie, he immediately jumped on to Kevin and hugged him tightly .

"Brother,I... I think I have seen a ghost," Joel stuttered fear evident in his voice.

"What nonsense are you blabbering, did you drink again yesterday?" Kevin was becoming impatient with his brother already.

"I didn't drink at all, but am sure I just met a ghost in this elevator, and she must have hyptonised me, I can't even feel my legs, can you take me to your room please," Joel pleaded with his brother ensuring he had maintained the most innocent pleading puppy eyes that he was sure his brother couldn't resist.

Even though most of the time Kevin maintained cold poker face, Joel knew his brother had a soft spot for the people he cared about, and that's only him and just a few of his friends.

"What are you, do you think you're still two," Kevin reprimanded him but all in all he carried him in to his office passing by the corridor totally unaware of the gazes that followed them.

"What exactly are you doing here, aren't you supposed to be searching for a house already or are you going to stay with grandfather at home?" Kevin asked, seeing his brother here made him anxious, Joel could come up with some unreasonable excuse in order to for Kevin to accompany him.

Joel just smiled sheepishly at him.

"Can I stay with you for sometimes until I get a good house,all the houses I checked are not up to my taste and for now am really lazy to look for another one already so I just thought it would be a good idea if I were to move in with you," Joel said with a small smile as he sat properly on the sofa.

"By the way I already asked the maids to arrange my things on your house so I just came by to inform you beforehand so you won't be surprised." Joel added as he rose on his feet ready to leave.

"Another thing before I forget, I just want to wish you good day," Joel said remembering the girl he had met on the stairs, he was sure his brother couldn't contain his cool anymore once he gets to meet her, but at the moment he was not in the mood to stay behind and watch, just encountering that girl at some point made him shiver, so he hurriedly left the room but only to bump in to someone.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to..."Bella started off but trailed when she looked up only to find the stupid man she had bumped in to earlier.

Joel hurried out, he didn't even say a single word.

Knock!

Knock!

"Come in," a deep husky voice came from the room, and Bella for a second was distracted as she imagine how the owner of the voice would look like, though she thought that the voice was really familiar but he couldn't comprehend where she had heard it.

Bella entered the room and just like she had expected the office was amazing, it was painted with dull manly colour but despite that it portrayed that the owner of the office must be a fun of art as a result of the portraits hanging on the walls.

Behind the desk sat a person whom Bella thought to be the CEO, his back facing her, though seemed like his gaze was the streets below, as she could see that the view here was beautiful, and one could view the whole town from here all thanks to this being the tallest building in town.

"Have a seat,"Kevin half commanded.

He had never interviewed someone, but he had made an exception for this intern, he just wanted to see her reaction when she gets to know that he's the owner of JB Inc.

Bella was feeling so nervous, she just wanted to be done with all this already, and just as she was still checking out the room, Kevin turned around still on his chair and came face to face with Bella, and I swear at this very moment everything went to a stand still, including their heartbeats.

Kevin wanted to surprise her, but instead he was more surprised, there wasn't a change in her dressing code, not like he had expected any at all, he thought to himself internally rolling his eyes.

Bella's face was porcelain pale, and so fresh and a thought of feeling it in his hands passed through his mind but he dismissed it immediately.

Bella was stupefied, so the person she had abused and made fun of was the CEO of the largest company in town Z, but this only lasted for a second before a thought crossed her mind, she didn't see any chance of getting to work here, and just this thought made her noticeably sad.

"Am I that handsome that you've been staring at me that long, Kevin started up, he was just teasing her."

"Aa .. am sorry sir, did you say something," definitely Bella had heard him but she didn't want to worsen the already worse situation do she played dumb.

After a series of basic question which Bella answered politely, there came a question that Bella had been expecting.

"What makes you think we should hire you here in our company?"

Just like she had earlier memorized, Bella replied how this was a great company and how she would like to gain more experience so as to be competent enough, how the leaders in this company were great, she blabbered but when she looked at her interviewer and by the look on his face it seemed like he didn't believe her at all she decided to be honest.

"To be honest am in need of money and I heard that I could earn much money if I get to work here, and the second thing is because am sure am competent enough to be here," Bella replied confidently without faltering, she thought it won't hurt if she were to go honest, after all she didn't have any hope of getting the job.

Kevin hadn't expected this, though earlier on he was aware she must have memorized that line since many people normally use that similar line, he hadn't expected her to be this honest, and he silently applauded her in his heart, he always likes someone honest.

"Thank you for your time miss Bella, here is the contract that you need sign, and am sorry if this would be inconvenient to you but you have to start your work now since there's a lot of workload here already," my secretary would give you a tour around all the department in order for you to familiarize with the working condition, Kevin said as he phoned his secretary asking her in.

Since Kevin didn't want to scare her aware he temporarily ignored the fact that they had met earlier, so he just decided to go official with her at the moment.

The moment Bella returned the contract after signing it off, a wicked mischievous smile appeared in the corners of Kevin's lips but they disappeared immediately.

"Stupid!"

Kevin thought wickedly.

Kevin remembered how he had modified the contract based on his own terms and just as he had predicted, she had quickly signed it without reading a single word in the word written on it.

Bella felt like she was dreaming, all this events had passed so quickly, but one thing that rang in her head was that she had gotten the job, so when she was given the contract she immediately signed without reading the clauses as she was afraid he might change his mind.
