A new revelation

Katherina's voice was shaky as she asked,

"Do you remember anything from your life before you woke up here? Can you tell me anything about yourself?"

She was trying to keep her tone gentle and calm, but she was also filled with worry and concern. She didn't know what to do next, but she knew that she had to find out more about what had happened to Harrison.

With a confused look on his face, Harrison responded, "I don't remember anything. I can't remember who I am, where I'm from, or anything about my life. It's like my memory has been wiped clean. The only thing I remember is your face, and that's only because I'm looking at you right now."

This time, her tone was calm and inquisitive

"I know this is probably a difficult question, but I really need to understand how you remember my name."

"I honestly don't know how I know your name. I just know that it's Katherina. It's the only thing that feels certain to me. Everything else is hazy and confusing. I'm not trying to trick you, I just don't have any other explanation."

In a sincere and apologetic tone, Harrison said

"I'm so sorry if this is upsetting or confusing. I don't mean to hurt you by not being able to remember things. It's not something I can control. I know it must be frustrating for you, and I feel terrible that I can't give you the answers you're looking for. Please forgive me."

Katherina sat up and looked away from Harrison. She was trying to make sense of what he had said, but it was difficult to process. A part of her wanted to be understanding and patient, but another part of her was frustrated and disappointed. She didn't know what to do or how to feel.

Katherina offered to make breakfast, hoping it would give her a chance to escape the room and gather her thoughts. She wasn't sure if she could believe Harrison's story, and she needed some time to process everything. Making breakfast would give her the time she needed.

She tried to push away the doubts that were swirling in her head. But they kept coming back, no matter how hard she tried to ignore them. What if Harrison was lying? What if he was playing some kind of game? She didn't know what to think, and she felt a sense of dread as she began to prepare the sandwiches.

Katherina was startled when she felt Harrison's arms wrap around her from behind. He rested his head on her shoulder and said,

"Rina, I'm sorry if I've caused you any distress. I know this is confusing, and I wish I could explain it better. But I want you to know that I care about you, and I'm not trying to deceive you in any way."

As Katherina pulled away from Harrison's embrace, he released her and took a step back. He looked at her with a mixture of hurt and confusion. He could see that she was still skeptical, and he wondered how he could convince her that he was telling the truth. He felt like he was losing her trust, and he didn't know what to do.

Katherina turned to face Harrison and said,

"I think you're lying to me. I don't believe that you've lost your memory. How do you still remember to call me Rina when you offered to call me that months ago?"

Harrison looked taken aback by her directness. He said, "I'm not lying to you. I swear, I'm telling the truth. I don't know what's going on either. But I promise I'm not trying to deceive you."

"I'm so sorry for the impact this will have on our relationship. I know it's hard to trust me right now, and I understand why you feel that way. But I'm not lying to you. I really don't know what's going on. I just want to be honest with you and try to figure this out together. Can we please talk about it?"

As Harrison's words sank in, Katherina began to feel a sense of panic. What if he was right? What if she was the one who was lying? She had lied to Harrison about their relationship, and now she was faced with the consequences of her actions. She didn't know what to do next. Should she come clean and tell him the truth? Or should she keep the lie going and hope he never found out? She felt like she was at a crossroads, and she didn't know which way to go. How would she tell him they were never married?

Harrison smiled when Katherina served him breakfast, but he could sense that something was off. She seemed tense and distracted, and her smile seemed forced. He wondered if she was hiding something from him. But he decided not to push the issue, and he sat down to eat the breakfast she had prepared. He tried to make small talk, but the tension in the room was palpable.

"I'm sorry, but I have to leave for work soon. I only have a few minutes before I need to head out the door. Can we make this quick?"

Her tone was apologetic, but also firm. She was clearly trying to balance her need to get to work with her desire to hear what Harrison had to say.

"I love you."

He kept it simple and direct, with no frills or fancy words. It was clear that he just wanted to get the message across in the most straightforward way possible.

Katherina's eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't been expecting that. She was unsure how to respond, and she just stared at Harrison in silence. Her mind was racing, and she was trying to figure out what to say.

She gave a small, nervous smile. It was the kind of smile that someone gives when they're trying to appear polite, but they're not really feeling it. Her eyes remained serious and her body language was stiff. It was clear that she was just going through the motions, and her heart wasn't in it.

Harrison's smile was much more genuine than Katherina's. He was still hoping that she would open up to him, and he was trying to put her at ease. His smile was warm and relaxed, and he continued eating his breakfast as if everything was normal. But deep down, he was worried about what would happen next.

After a few moments of awkward silence, Katherina stood up and said, "I really have to go now."

Harrison nodded, but he couldn't hide the disappointment on his face. He didn't try to stop her as she gathered her things and headed for the door. As she opened the door, he said, "I hope you have a good day."

Katherina's mind was racing as she sat on the bus. She kept replaying the moment when Harrison had told her he loved her. She felt guilty for not being able to respond in the way he wanted, but she just didn't know what to say. She was still trying to make sense of her own feelings, and she didn't know what to do next. As the bus pulled up to her stop, she took a deep breath and got ready to face the day.

As she walked to the main building, Katherina kept going over the same thoughts, again and again. She was worried about Harrison's memory loss, and she felt terrible that he thought they were married.

Suddenly, Katherina was pulled out of her thoughts by Julie's cheerful voice. "Hey, Kat! It's so good to see you! How was your weekend?"

Katherina forced a smile and replied, "It was fine, thanks. Just the usual." She was still preoccupied with her thoughts, but she tried to push them aside and focus on Julie.

"Girlfriend! I come bearing gifts!" She held up the coffee and wiggled it a little bit, as if to entice Katherina to take it. "Fresh Americano, just the way you like it."

Katherina couldn't help but smile back at Julie's infectious energy. She took the coffee and said, "You're the best, Julie. Seriously, thank you."

Katherina and Julie walked through the front door of the office building, chatting and laughing as they went. Katherina felt her spirits lifting as she enjoyed the company of her friend.

The revolving door spun around, and Katherina and Julie stepped off, into the main lobby of the office. Katherina couldn't help but smile as she looked around at the familiar surroundings. It felt like coming home.

Julie let out a big sigh and said, "I wish I knew when we would get to meet him! I'm so curious to know what he'll be like as a leader. Do you think he'll be any different from the last CEO?"

Katherina tilted her head and said, "You mentioned the yet to be appointed CEO. Who was that again? I can't remember."

Julie laughed and said, "Oh right, you must have forgotten!" Julie gestured to the mini billboard and said, "You can see a bit of the company's history over there. They have a timeline of all the CEOs we've had over the years and the new one we'll be having soon"

Katherina walked over to the mini billboard and started reading through the timeline. As she read, she realized just how much the company had evolved over the years. It was really quite fascinating.

As Katherina's eyes scanned the mini billboard, she found the photo of George Steele , the previous CEO.

Katherina's eyes widened in surprise as she noticed something unexpected on the mini billboard. It was a photo of a very familiar face, someone she had never expected to see there.

As the realization hit Katherina, her hands started shaking and her coffee cup slipped out of her grip. It fell to the floor with a crash, spilling coffee all over the ground. Katherina stood there in stunned silence. She felt like she might faint. She was dizzy with confusion and shock. How was this possible? What was going on?

Just as Katherina was trying to process the revelation, she read through the board details hastily.

The words beneath it read,

_The new CEO of DIAR fashion company_

_Harrison Steele_
