Chapter Fourteen

"Daddy!"

When they notice their father, the twins shout in perfect harmony. They've both become energized now that their father has arrived.

I didn't look up to him; instead, I let the kids call him while I cleaned the spaghetti sauce splattered on the floor to keep myself occupied so I wouldn't have to talk to him.
