Chapter Twelve

"Oh my gosh!" she exclaimed in surprise after I dropped the folder on the office table. I looked up at her.

"If you don't have anything important to report right now, you can leave," I said sternly. I could see her confusion and nervousness on her face as she turned around.

"And, next time," I said as she turned around, "don't spread any humor if you don't know what happened; if you don't respect other people, just think of your job; you didn't want to lose your job, did you?"

I ignored our age difference. I knew she was older than me and that I should respect her... But why should I respect someone unworthy of it?

"I'm sorry, Ma'am. Laura! I'm sorry, I can't do it again," she said.

She is now facing my table and constantly bowing her head.

"Don't apologize to me; I'm not the victim of your gossip."

"Ma'am..." she said nervously, and I just smiled at her while making a sarcastic face in front of her so she knows I'm pissed right now.
