Chapter 31

MIA

It was nice for the Unit to give me and Grey a bit of a honeymoon, but now Grey has to go back to work and I get to join his recruitment team. Yay me. Huge eye roll. I don’t like fighting, but Grey insists I need to keep my skills up.

“Don’t hurt me.” I grumble.

He stands with his hands on his hips. “Mia, I’m not going to hurt you. You’re my foxy lady. It’s the last thing I want to do.”

“I just don’t see why I need to do this.” I whine.

He holds my arms. “Babe, there’s new threats out there and I want you to be able to hold your own.” He backs up. “Try and trip me.”

I run at him and he tries to grab me, but I duck under his arm and try to hook his foot. He’s so heavy, I tripped myself and landed face first in the grass.

“Babe, you ok?” He says, trying to stifle a laugh.

“I’m fine.” I growl.

He helps me up. “Ok, maybe sparring with me isn’t a great idea. You need someone a bit more your size.” He looks around.
