“There’s still no sign of cowboy.” River says, tossing satellite images on the conference table. “These are from ten hours ago. We have noticed a few red wolves still kicking around.”

Bastian picks up the photos. “They joined him?”

River nods. “It looks like.”

“Bunch of yellow bellies.” Luke grumbles.

Jayson rolls his eyes. “Will you stop! You’re not a cowboy.”

“A cowboy is a guy with guts and a horse. I have both.” Luke smirks.

Jayson scrunched his face. “You don’t have a horse!”

Luke puts on a goofy smile. “I have a steel horse." He nods.

Jayson puts his head in his hand and groans. “Oh God.”

Bastian chuckles. “Anyway, we keep an eye on it. I don’t want any surprises.”

“Any sign of this other guy?” I lean on the table.

“Nope. Whoever he is, he’s taking his dear sweet time to show up.” River says, resting his head on his fingertips.

I slump back in my chair. “Fuck. Why’s he hiding? It’s his fucking problem. What’s he waiting for, an engraved invitation?”
