JESSICA POV

“So you are trying to tell me that you came all the way from the Nightshade pack, down to the Ashmoon pack without telling Ryan?” Lydia asked in shock.

“I know that it is so foolish of me, but you have to understand that all I seek are answers. Darius and Isabella are up to something and they must be stopped at all cost” I explained while taking my seat on the couch.

It has been a long road trip down to the pack and I am sure Ryan is going to freak out when he knows that I came to the Ashmoon pack.

“You are inviting war with your action” Lydia revealed.

“I am not going to waste much time here in this pack. I am just going to find out what Darius and Isabella are doing and then return”

“That is the work of the spies!” Lydia yelled.

“But why are you overreacting?” I asked, squinting my eyes in suspicion.

“Ashmoon pack is no longer the same. Darius holds everyone hostage. No one is allowed to leave this pack and our source of income has been suppressed by his Luna Isabella”

Ryan's POV.When we left to come to find the missing Pack member A part of me knew that finding him was going to be a very difficult task, but I was only being positive about the search, and I and Murphy combed the entire area trying to find the wolf. We spent the entire day searching every corner of the woods, as we thought that we might come across him somewhere, but then we did not find him.We were almost out of the woods into another area entirely when Murphy called my attention, telling me that it was not wise to go into that area of the woods because it was where very dangerous rogue wolves stayed, and they were not going to forgive anyone who trespassed .At that moment it occurred to me that if that pack member had entered into that area, he might have been attacked by rogue wolves and was not going to make it out alive."Do you think that he has entered somewhere like that? I mean, if we are not allowed to enter into this section of the woods and he did, it means that he is

  • Her Chosen mate    Chapter 68.

Jessica's POV.I stared at that particular one who made that comment, and the sight of him flickered an anger within me, and my Luna Shadow curse began to arise, but I held it and did not react at that moment."If you do not want to have that decency, then it means that you want to fight us, and we are not ready to fight you," I said to him, and as if my words were funny, they all burst into laughter, laughing loudly and roughly. They meant to scar me, but I had dealt with rough and unconcerned wolves in the past, but I had never really faced the Rebel in a fight. I was so annoyed by the way that they kept laughing and mocking us, and at that moment I was ready to take out my pity and let the curse affect them if they tried anything silly."Look, we need you to get your members out of this camp in two minutes, else we are going to raid this whole place, and believe me, none of you stand a chance against us." They said to me still I didn't budge.I just looked away from them and was wa

Jessica's POV.Kane could not hold the surprise at my insistence that we stay there at the camp until Ryan and Murphy arrived because we were obviously faced with danger, and these rebels, whose number we did not know, could attack us anytime soon. I understood where his fear was coming from. If it ever came down to fighting, we were not going to be strong enough to fight them. As the people in the camp barely had knowledge of fighting, or even if Kane was, I'm not sure that both of us could fight these rebels who live their entire lives fighting against everything and even themselves."This is dangerous, believe me. I have lived out here for years now, and I can tell you that these rebels do not give a care in the world whatever happens here. They could kill everyone here without even feeling a little bit of guilt that they were killing their innocent ones. I have lived here, and I know how dangerous and rough they could be, so it is better that we find somewhere else safe for the pe

Jessica's POV.Suddenly, the camp became calm, and everyone was now looking more calm than the way that they were before I arrived there. I felt a lot more relieved seeing that they were a lot more calm now. Kane, who seemed to be rather surprised at the sudden calmness, could not help but whisper to me what I had done.At that moment I realised that the people needed to be together so that they could pass through the moment, and I instructed that everyone gather up at And that was where we all stayed together and had dinner. It was like one big family, and slowly they began to feel at ease again, and you could hear their laughter. At midnight so many of them were already asleep, and a few were only chatting and laughing when we heard a sound from the gate. At first I thought that it was Murphy and Ryan, and I stood up immediately to check.I came with Kane beside me, and I noticed that it was not Ryan or Murphy with some shadows that were hovering around the gates."What could that b

Jessica's POV."What is going on?" I asked as I stood up to my feet immediately, and I could see Kane do the same as we both began to walk fiercely towards the section where we could hear the noise."What is going on here?" I asked the pack members who gathered around the structure that was there as I spoke to them, and I wondered what was there because they all seemed a little terrified.I was going to find out myself, and slowly I found my way into their midst, looking at all of them eye to eye as I looked for the person that was going to explain to me and opened the speaker. I pointed at a girl who was very young and wasn't here to explain to me."I know you are young and you are going to be truthful. I want you to tell me exactly what happened here that caused such a loud noise before I arrived. I need you to tell me the entire truth because I will not tolerate a lie, you hear me?" I asked her as I signaled at her to come closer, and as she came closer, she nodded her head in agre

Jessica's POV."They were members of the alpha council at the pack, and they were the ones who, over certain matters that the alpha entrusted to them, which gave them so much superiority that they felt like they could trample upon people even though they knew that it was the wrong thing to do. Even as the beta of the alpha chamber, I still did not have as much ground as they did because they were a collective team, and the alpha was more likely to believe whatever they said over mine."It was when he said this to me that I understood the helplessness he must have felt at that moment because even if he had gone to report such a matter to the alpha himself, the council might eventually turn it around on him, and it would seem like he was the villain when he was actually the one who needed help."So because of how powerful they were, you could not even tell the alpha what exactly happened?" I asked him, and instead of responding, he simply nodded his head slowly."How about now? Does the

Jessica's POV."Yes, Luna Jessica, you can talk to me for as much as you want. I am always here to listen and respond to you in all honesty." He said to me, and that sounds a little irked. But I maintained my composure and led him to a bench, which was at the corner of a structure."Please sit, Kane. I want to talk to you about something very important, and I want you to be very honest with me," I said to him, and he nodded his head, immediately staring at me with all of his attention. It was as if his gaze was piercing, chewing me as he was not even blinking at all."You used to be Ryan's beta at the Ashmoon pack before you were accused of something that you claimed you did not do, and you were banished instead of being killed, which was supposed to be the penalty for the crime committed. I want to know, Kane, what exactly was this crime that was supposed to cost you your life but Ryan insisted on keeping you alive"? I asked him with a serious look on my face as I waited anxiously to

Jessica's POV."You do not have to worry about me. Ryan I know how to take care of myself if what you're worried about is the consequences. I think the smartest thing to do now is to be on your way to find that Pack member; otherwise, the people are going to be disoriented, and you know that it is not going to be a good thing," I reminded him, and he nodded his head in agreement."I just need you to promise me that you are going to be okay and you are not going to risk your life so much. Remember that using your Luna Shadow curse is already aEnough risk, and afterwards you would have to pay the consequences of it, so please do not try to do anything so much," he said to me, and I could not help but agree as I watched him walk away towards the pack members who had already gathered around. The middle of the campI glanced around the space, and I knew that in time this was going to come; I just did not know that it was going to be so soon because no matter how far we go, Darius and his
