CHAPTER 3

DARK MOONED PACK

The large claws were inches away from clawing my head off when she jerked away. A sharp pain shot through her back, wasting no time as she jumped out of the window.

A sob left her lips as her feet touched the ground, she felt too weak to shift into her wolf, and with no choice, she ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She dare not stay there, she didn't want Derek or any of his men to see her. She had to get out of there, she was feeling weak inside but she knew that she had to keep going and mustn't give up.

Her spine felt chills when she stumbled upon a dead body on the floor. She didn't even know how to react and just the sight of it made her limbs go weak.  Derek had made sure to kill everyone in the pack and she felt as though she was the only survivor left.

She was running as fast as she could until she finally got to a safe place. She was so weak that she couldn't even get to the border. She had tried crossing it but decided to rest and didn't even care about the fact whether or not Derek found her. She was already feeling alone so she might as well join her parents.

She lay on the ground close to a huge rock. She felt as though she was going to die, pain ripped through her back and for some reason, she could not heal immediately. She didn't even know what to do anymore. She hated herself for being a coward and for not being able to do anything, she had wanted to kill herself at that moment but decided to continue living because of her parents.

She looked around and her heart still wasn't at rest. She knew that she couldn't stay there for long or else Beta Derek might as well catch up with her. She was going to try to get up and keep moving, she was a princess and princesses never give up. She might be the last of her pack but she wasn't to let it get to her.

She got up and started moving when she noticed a certain movement as if someone was staring at her. At first, she tried shrugging off the thoughts thinking that it was probably her head that was messing with her regarding the fact that she was too weak.

As much as she tried to believe herself, the presence was so strong that she knew that someone was definitely there and he was with her. She looked around trying to figure out who the person was but it was so hard that she could hardly sense the person.

" Who are you? Come out and show yourself!" She said, though she was feeling scared she had seen a lot that nothing surprised her anymore.

" Why lurking around in the woods? If you're really brave then show Yourself!" She said and a figure appeared in front of her.

It was a man, who was so very tall, he looked very masculine and his face was dead dropping gorgeous that it made her heart flutter. She couldn't help but admire him from his hair down to his shoe. He looked at her with no expression on his face but his hands were tucked in his pockets and his eyes held no emotions.

"Who…who are you?" She asked, he smirked at her before walking over in her direction, she kept moving back fearing that he might be one of Derek's men who wanted to kidnap her and maybe even kill her.

She was feeling so scared that she wished she could just disappear away from him so that he wouldn't kill her because from the looks of things he didn't really seem like the kind of person who would show her mercy.

" Don't come closer." She warned but it only made him go closer to her. He obviously wasn't going to listen to her and was going to do the exact opposite of what she asked and for some reason, it terrified her.

"Princess of the dark mooned pack." He said and that sent shivers down her spine, she didn't know why his voice had such an effect on her and she was still wondering how he knew her because, from the looks of it, she had no idea who he was.

She was feeling so scared because she didn't know whether or not he belonged to Derek's men and he was probably pursuing her so that he could take her back and kill her.

" Who are you and how do you know me?" She asked trembling in extreme fear, coupled with the excruciating pain, she had no idea who he was and what he was capable of doing but she was sure that he was up to no good.

" I'm not going to harm you. " He said with his voice so hoarse. She didn't believe him though and she was sure he was up to something.

" How…how do you know me?"  She asked, he could sense that she was very scared, probably because her entire pack had been murdered in cold blood, she had no one and he was sure that by the looks of it, she wasn't even capable of taking care of herself.

He looked at her and saw how miserable she looked. He took pity on her and decided that he was going to protect her, he was going to take her far away from there so Derek wouldn't harm her. He knew that if she stayed there for one more minute Derek was going to catch her and wouldn't waste any time in killing her.

But then again he couldn't deny the fact that she was breathtaking. Her gorgeous face and long blonde hair was the thing that first got his attention, she was so beautiful and looked mature. He was sure that if Derek get his hands on her he was probably going to rape or kill her maybe he would even do both.

He started hearing footsteps and was sure that Derek's men were close by. He knew that if they caught him they wouldn't be able to face him because Derek was weak for him but he had to do something to protect her. To make Derek stay away from her and that made him do the unthinkable.

Something he'd never thought he would do.
