"Does anyone have a wedding coming up soon with their spouse?"
The bride's sudden question threw the hall into total silence. A white bird flew to the hall, and made a duck at the entrance then chirps before leaping up into the sky. The couples -to-be were standing at the altar and the priest had just read the vow to the wife but she asked that instead of saying "I do". A woman that was seated in one of the chairs in the front row gave her a look that threatens to break her bones if she doesn't quit her acting. Everything has been going on perfectly... The chest of the bride's moves up in her multi billion - dollar dress as she heaved out a deep breath. Her fragile fingers curled up into a soft fist. The priest casted her a look up from his glasses before looking back at the book in his hand, reading her the vow again. "Do you,Angela Wilson, promise to have and love this man as..." "Oh, priest..take a pause there."Angel's breath ruffles as she chuckled sadly. Her mother and sister were passing her stares that could kill. They were probably wondering what the heck she was doing in front of all these influential people. Angela's eyes fell on the man's cold gaze. He was sitting two chairs away from her sister. She smiled at him, almost unnoticeable, but he seems to caught that as his thick brows furrowed, dangerously. "I asked a question. What will you do if you find your to-be husband making out in the groom's area with another lady?"her eyes moves away from the man, now directed at the crowd,as she watched them speak to one another in hushed tones. "Crazy, right?!"her maniac laughter fills the room. A hand grips her arm and she turned to face her groom whose eyes were flaring up in anger. "Why on earth would you even go to the groom's room? That's prohibited!"he queried,in a spat... quietly. She scoffs then yanked her arm away from his grasp, pulling herself in a controlled state in order to prevent herself from murdering him. Her sister rushed to her side and brought a pink handkerchief out of her skimpy gown's outer pocket to touch up Angela's face. "Sister, just move on with the wedding. Don't cause a chaos else, people would think you're crazy. They won't even have faith in your words. You know how long it took for you to convince mom to make you get married? Now, don't screw that up - you might just fvck up your chance of building a family and remain single till earth grows an ear." Her sister's face contorted in disgust as she uttered those words. To the crowd, she is a caring sister, removing the beads of sweats on her sister's face, and trying to clam her down, but she's just a thorn in the flesh for Angela. Angela pecked her sister, Lena's cheeks, getting Lena's eyes to pop out in shock - not a pleasant one, but one dreaded. Lean's teeth meshed together,as she trembles and fought with the anger boiling up in her not to burst out that moment. She could just slap the damn out of Angela's face. She's always been known to wreak havoc whereever she goes. A bad luck girl that even killed their father she is! "So? Bride, what do you plan to do?"her mother's strict voice pierced through the thin air strongly...as if daring her,Angela, to do what she,was panning to do...but Angela has got another plan. Lena went back to assume her seat. Angela shot stares back at her mother who wondered where such a scared kitten, erstwhile, suddenly got a kite that took her on a ride in the moon that gives power. "Babe,it was just a misunderstanding, and you should have called me and I would have clarified the situation!"Daniel rasped. He still was not apologizing, neither feeling or talking apologetic. Haha. What a crazy life she's lived! Angela's head turned to the priest, who adjusted his glasses and wondered - has the bride been possessed by a spirit? Or... His eyes darted to the side in his glasses,as he contemplates - his mind flashing back to the previous day's incident. The evil spirit he casted out of the man that shaved the head of the six women he tried to marry bald, leading him to be imprisoned for times.. The priest's gasp. That spirit that is allergic to the joy of the person it possessed! Is it the one in her? "Priest, what shall we do to a man that cheats on his wife? No, fiancee. Since he hasn't wedded yet."she pulled her eyes up at him, expecting his reply. The priest was snapped back into reality. "What are you talking about? This is our wedding."Daniel stated, gruffly, grabbing her wrist, roughly. "Everyone,"he stared at the crowd whilst Angela was prinking at him in steaming rage. "I apologize for what happened here today. My wife seems to be out of it and.." Before he could complete his statement,Angela withdrew her hand from his, sharply, and quite savagely, shooting him a glare that could compel one to take the rope. "What do you mean wife?"she pitched. The people shook their heads in disappointment. Her mother sighed from where was and crossed her legs. "Mom,do something!"Lena mumbled in a strangled voice. "Just enjoy the free show for now,Lena."Abigail rubs her hair, lovingly.Gradually, a pitched sound crawls into my ears. The typical sound when a microphone just got knocked off. I look up and found Pierre pausing a step by the door. Eyebrows pulled up, mouth agape, eyes dancing around the scene. The light in the room is dimmed so he probably doesn't see the blood. He lunges over seconds later,"why is there blood?" that wasn't a question. It was one asked in bewilderment and 'it has never happened before' ."He seems drunk." I respond, short of breaths. His brows furrowed, then he shakes his head.. "this is bad .""Should... should we take him to the hosp-" "Get Ellie," his voice carries an instruction. My left hand grip my head, every objects doubling. I dig my teeth in my tongue. Blood flooded in along with pain enough to get a hold of myself. I pull myself up but paused. Ellie ? Who is that?"Vanessa" He quickly corrected himself like he just spit ou
I hiccup. Did my forty heads of thinking literally go to the waste bin? "It's... it's just juice, certainly everyone takes that..." I voiced out."Not me. Never like it." Words hung in my throat. A beat at hundred times..my heart counts down.I was too shocked to remember not to allow it show on my face until he raised the question, " why do you look disappointed? You badly want me to drink this?" I curse under my breath before looking up. "Of.. course not. I was just worried you would sleep on empty stomach,"A short laugh burst out of his lips. "Sleep on..." He stops, his eyes closes off only to get snapped open back again. "I am going. You, you should leave too..." In his room ? Going where? My inner eyes poke out of my skin, and I take every little details of his behavior in.His palm shields his forehead, his fingers trembles. His movements irregular.*Well, what did you fin
"Permission for what?" Does he know about my mission. My heart beats fast."To watch me eat." He shrugs. No reaction. Just a straight face. "I wasn't goi-" Wait, that's to my advantage. My eyes wander around the room. So unlike mine where cloths dance on the floor.I set the food down on the small table.I shot him a stare across the room, where he is drying his hair with a towel."A dryer would have been better and faster," I pointed out."It is not about speed always. Doing it like this takes some thoughts off my head." He responded without looking.I nod with pressed lips. "Sit." His next words came out sudden. My brows creased. His back is turn on me, how...?"Your standing there and looking around makes you seem like a pervert." He commented. My face flushes in embarrassment. He cannot exactly put it like so.I plush down on the chair without thinking twice.
The aroma of the food takes over the room. I stood in the kitchen, different ideas popping up in my head. I tail Vanessa to the dining where she served the food. She glanced back at me, "do you need anything,?"I go to shake my head. "Okay. I need to inform boss food is ready," she says and turn to leave.I nod, my mind far off. She was already climbing the stairs when I remember I was supposed to serve him. No, repay a debt. "WAIT."She stops. I inhale. She raise her brows quizzically at me. "Is something not in its right order?""Yes, my brain, " I blurt out."Huh?" "Nothing. Just...come back. I...will serve him." I gestured. She threw me a confused look then looked up the stairs, "sure? That would be nice " she squealed and hop off the stairs.I blink, "you seem excited like a five years old that just got her Christmas shoes."She chuckles. "Uhm, you...are done for the day, right?" I ask. "Yes, ma'am," she grins."Do you have any plan? Go out? Something else?""Asides sleep,
My heart leapt. What's up with how both of them are staring at me?"Like the kind of stare given when you are about to get betrayed," I comment in my head. But betrayal doesn't get through to my heart again. And this seems even more worse. When the staring got heated, I decided to take it on Vanessa, "what? You are not greeting your employer?" I whisper, and i could swear I see her stifle a laugh. My subconsciousness brushes it off again, "don't be mean" she moaned."Good - " she chokes on her word. "Evening, boss," she places weight on the boss word. Before my suspicious self could scrape off tweeny - bitsies of details again, "How is the hangover? Gone?" He questions, his voice strained. In a sweep, I looked at him, then back to Vanessa in a "is that question for me?" And she held in a laughter again. And that? It didn't help, it isn't. Only making me more anxious. Do I look like a fool today?"Well," she straightens
Angela's POV.I strut into the kitchen. Thuds from the cutting of carrots suffocates the air.I study Vanessa's knife movements...smooth, too fluid . Like she has been chopping carrots her entire life."Reason she is a chef," my second reverberates in my head.I chug a saliva, and rest on the wall. My arms crossed on my chest. Her head swerves back, our eyes meeting. She looks on, confused for seconds.. before something like realization hit her."Angela," she calls out before she could stopped."Why were you so shocked?" I draw a breath in, leaving the spot to pick one of the chopped carrot."Uhhh, it's been a while," she blurted. My eyes shoot up at her, the carrot going into my mouth, "it has only been a day,"Collarbones shoot out of her neck as she release a smile, "ah, really?" My gaze narrows, "you're acting weird today? What? Something wrong?""What could be wro
